Thanks for providing this service; we may not be able to stop recorded telebanks but at least we are not left in the dark. We don't accept calls from "Unknown Name" and it's a shame these people are using that ploy because we are politically involved and always listen to them, both to be informed and to be aware of the misinformation that is being spewed so we can rebut it when it comes up in conversation.

Within the last week we have had recorded messages from Bill Clinton, State Representative Kirk England, and former Mayor Ron Kirk. Curious, since we are on record as supporting a Republican challenger for State Representative. Looks like the Democrats can't field enough live bodies for the phones so they have to resort to computer telebanks. The one live person who called about this election was a representative of the candidate we are supporting.

Oh, we've mis-spoken ourselves. Sometimes we do take calls from Unknown Name, answering the phone as follows: "Thanks for calling Radio Station K-U-N-T. You're on the air with our Psychic Hotline where today we are speaking with The Unknown. What's on your mind?"
And invariably, Unknown Name hangs up.

Got this call too.
You know though, to all of you venting, the democrat party does the same bloody thing so stop your freaking bleeting. I sent an email to the obama campaign in protest of them 'campaigning' ON a memorial of fallen police officers...and you know what, now I get political 'vote for me' emails ALL THE TIME FROM THEM! I didn't ask for them either.

TheJanitor: Most phone companies have something called "call forwarding selective" that lets you forward only certain numbers. That's what I did, I "blocked" some persistant spam numbers by forwarding them to a disconnected number. So they get a nice doo daa deet and a disconnected recording.

Use caller ID and just don't answer the phone unless it is someone you know calling you. This is what we do.

We would like to find a device that will automatically screen calls for you and divert unwanted calls to a recording that says "the number you called is out of service". This way we wouldn't even have to look at caller ID or even hear the phone ring for calls we don't want. Anybody know of such a device?

Push poll for McCain re: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, stated large amount of donations to Obama, said corrupt person (connected w/FM?) put in charge of picking Obama's VP. Starts out asking if you will vote, then for whom, and unleashes attacks on Obama.

Annoying call pretending to be "public service" examining knowlede of economics and policys, but turned out to be politically motivated "research" on voting in the coming elections. Called on Sunday afternoon. Isn't this type of political voter maniplation illegal?

A friend of mine told me that he called the local Republican party office, told them he's a Republican...which he is, but he's disgusted with McCain and is voting for Obama, and he told tell them what he thought about their sneaky push poll phone calls.

Robo push poll from conservative group. Using debunked talking points from McCain campaign. Really should be illegal to identify yourself as a polling organization and then use the opportunity to try to persuade people, regardless of the accuracy.

Received the same Obama push poll from Americans in Contact at my home here in Phoenix, AZ at 1:35 p.m. Tried to tie Obama to the Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae failure. Used practically the same language as McCain's stump speech.

Identified themselves as Americans in Contact PAC. At least I think. It was pretty hard to hear. Definitely a push poll for McCain.

Don't know why they are calling now but they were heavy on the Hillary Clinton polling earlier this year. I recognize this number and never answer it. Just as annoying as Dunrich Holding.

A person left a recorded message to "protect California families". It was caller encouraging a "yes" vote on proposition 8. (I don't quite understand how allowing Gay couples to have a committed relationship hurts California families.

Called 10/09/2008, 7:19PM.

This was a recorded political survey. I picked up the phone and said NO to the question of whether or not I would be voting. Here was the problem: I hung up. I left it hung up for about fifteen seconds, and when I picked up the phone again, IT WAS STILL ON MY LINE! I am a disabled person and if I had needed to call 911, I couldn't have! I hung up a second time, and left it down for about 30 seconds, and it still was there! I yelled an expletive in the phone (I was ANGRY!) and then hung up again. A third time, it was still there.

Political calls should be required to respect the DNC list just like anything else. This company should be sued for tying up the lines.

You may be able to disconnect them if you blow or whistle into the receiver (microphone). I will try that the next time.

Ha! I just looked at the caller ID and they tried calling again this morning at 09:13am and yesterday at 3:59pm even before the original call I saw on ID. But the phone never rang this morning because I blocked it the night before. God I love this call blocking.

Called last night (10/09/2008) at 7:24pm. Wasn't home at the time but saw it on caller ID. They left no voicemail. Based on other feedback here it sounds like telemarketing or political polling. But either way I already blocked the number so if the same caller ID pops up again it will be ignored to voicemail. (ahh, nice & quiet :-)

I dont like being called nightly by this election survey. They just call again and again and again, whether you answer questions or not. 8:15 pm at night is ridiculous.

Calls and recording says Are you voting in the November election?
then they say they may call again
They suck

What is the point of reporting these calls by the way? Does anyone actually do anything about them or is this just a venting place?
