unknown caller id showed on phone , i answered and was put on hold to speak to a rep. wes was his name , i asked for his name of the company and it was card service . i asked for their phone # he told me it was 1-800-421-2110. i told him that i do not own a credit card and to take this # off of their list. i also told him i was on the do not call list registry. he told me if i get a call again to press @ it would then take my # off the list and that their were several companies that do the same thing that they do and all of them has the press 1 or 2 option. i said thank you and hung up.

I registered my phone on the do not call registry, but I still receive this annoying calls. Once they said they were from BOA to set up something for identity theft or something like it, they said that it was free that only I had to accept, I said I know nothing is free...how much do I have to pay?...she finished saying that it was only free for 30 days after that period I could cancel, I let her know I didn't want anything, , she kept repeating you can cancel after 30 I got mad I hung up on her. This people are very annoying, something I run to the phone to check who is it when I see that is them, I feel like breaking the phone in pieces!!!!

I answered the phone and caller identified herself as a rep calling on behalf of Bank of America. She tried to sell me a credit reporting service. I called Bank of America and they thought a call coming from a cell phone was suspicious. I filed a report at the FTC's "Do not Call" website.

when I file my complaints like the guy says.

They called three times today.

I read that my state fines companies that do this type of calling
$5,000 per incident. Couple that with the Federal Government complaints
that would be $10,000 per incident.

If we file a complaint to raise attention, the cost of doing this
will force them to rethink the profit of doing it.

Filing my State and Fed complaints right NOW!

Great idea!

I see Nevada's law says telemarketing calls cannot be made unless
you have been a customer within 18 months. So an OLD list of customers
will not protect them.

So even if you have been a customer, they have no right to call you!

http://ag.state.nv.us/org/bcp/nocall.htm

One way the state has more strict laws on telemarketing.

"Telemarketing calls from companies that have had a direct, preexisting business relationship with you within 18 months of the call."

In addition to the Federal Do Not Call List and its complaint page at
http://donotaccl.gov you will also have a list for your own state.

Register with your state so you can be protected and file complaints.

Find your state here, and then register.
http://www.the-dma.org/government/donotcalllists.shtml

To make these lists work, you need to file a complaint when they violate the law.
Then the Do Not Call lists will be the deterrent we all want them to be.

These guys tried to tell me I'm a customer of Bank of America,
but I'm not, nor do they have my name. My number is a phone modem
only number. I do not make calls with that number, I do not even
tell people I have a second, let alone what the number is!

Check with your state's Attorney General's office (like their web site).
In Massachusetts a Do Not Call list is ALSO provided by the Mass. Attorney General's
office. So your state may also have a way to File A Complaint in addition to the national
http://donotcall.gov complaint web site.

In the state of Massachusetts Go Here to register at the government's web site:

http://www.mas.gov/donotcall

Complaints to Massachusetts Attorney General's Office.:
http://www.mass.gov/?pageID=ocasubtopic&L=5&sid=Eoca&L0=Home&L1=Consumer&L2=Privacy&L3=Telephone+Solicitations&L4=Do+Not+Call+Program

or simpler

The Bank of America web site shows Privacy Assist Premier
as a contractor working for Bank of America.

I called Privacy Assist Premier and I was told that
I was called because I'm a customer of Bank of America - I AM NOT
AND I HAVE NEVER GIVEN OUT THE NUMBER THAT THEY HAVE BEEN CALLING!
I gave my name to premier but they say they do not have a name for any of the
numbers they call.

- cold calling ! -

Bank of America - Customer Service 800-516-9561
I then called Bank of America customer service. I asked what account I have with them? Using mu full name and SSN they said I was not a customer. So
what is Privacy Assist Premier doing? How can they call a non-customer on a
private phone number that nobody has? - Cold Calling -

I was then directed to the fraud department 1-800-421-2110 ask for fraud dept.
I was told that they have no phone number for me and I should not have
been called because I am not a customer.

So I'll continue to complain with the Do Not Call donotcall.gov web site
for each and every violation and have Privacy Assist Premier acting on
Bank of America's reputation rack up BIG $$$ of fines each time.
Then, maybe Bank of America will get the point that Privacy Assist Premier
is costing them money and reputation each time they do this cold calling.

YOU DO THE SAME!

Got a call from this number a few minutes ago. Said she was Paula of Bank of America. She said that due to an increase in identity theft, BoA wants to send all their account holders a credit report from all the 3 major credit reporting companies. She said that I should review the reports carefully. She asked me if I have done that previously. Since, I have tried (free trial) Privacy Assist, she asked if I was still with Privacy Assist. I said no. She asked why. I said I didn't want to pay for it right now. She just gave me a number 866-433-3481 (perhaps for future enrollment in Privacy Assist), thanked me and hung up.

Caller asked for my wife. I asked if it was a sales call, he wouldn't say yes or no just said it was "about identity theft" and that he was "concerned about fradulent charges" on my wife's card. I passed phone to her. I am pretty sure it was a sales call, not a real fraud call, but the rep was so misleading we still aren't sure. Wanted to send her a report to have her "check it over carefully for fraudulent activities" but it sounds like a credit report. She asked "is there a charge for this?" and was told "no, ma'am, it is free. (long pause) for the first month." Really scammy. BOA must be hard up for cash. Be really careful on calls from this number.
