June 29th, 2013 Frustrated NY

Just received a call from this company for someone else, tried calling back and they're closed. 8:10am on a Saturday morning, the only day I can sleep late and the call is not for me and they have the nerve to be closed. This company is far from professional and who ever is running it should be locked up.

Messaage asks that you remain on the line for a 'customer service rep' but you are just left hanging there.

Calls were received about every other day. When I first tried to call them back there was no answer. I finally reached a man to let him know he was calling the wrong number. Message asks for someone that has never lived at this address. The man had the gall to say to me, "When you protect people that owe money, all you're doing is forcing businesses to raise prices."

I said, "One more time: that person does not live here and had never lived here." "We'll see. We will call again."

Barbara's comment from Dec 2008 is very telling. It's preceisely how skip tracers are trained to think, that everyone they call is a liar either trying to ''avoid responsibility'' or harbor a debt fugitive.

If AMP or any other agency thinks you owe something, be sure to respond on real paper to its federally required dunning letter with a dispute and validation request, adding that you either restrict or revoke consent to call again. Given the industry's documented need to break laws to get at your assets, you should dispute even if you agree slightly with its claim.

If the account is not legally collectable, or it's simply not you they want, you're free to send a full cease-comm, cutting off all contact. Send all notices via USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft them. Pay close attention to all communication and document it well. If those contacts yield legal violations, you may collect from *them* through a judge or arbitrator.

December 31st, 2008 Barbara MN

Has called here twice. This morning I answered and was told the name they were looking for for an overdue Mastercard account. The man had a Social Security number he wanted me to verify. I refused to verify it. I kept telling him that the person he was trying to reach could not be reached at this address. He insisted that was the address they have for him. I told them that he receives his mail here, but does not live here and cannot be reached at this phone number. He then accused me of "hiding him." He asked for a phone number where he could be reached, and I told him there wasn't one. This is true. He does has a cell phone for emergencies when he is on the road, but it does not work down here in the valley, and I don't know the number.. The man then became very rude, again accusing me of hiding him and told me he knew what game I am playing. That's when I hung up.

Living with/caretaking elderly active Mom in hospice with Alzheimers and now cancer. Heaven forbid she answers any of these "important and urgent business messages". I cannot find anything about Bronson or Don Gibson, but I am not wasting too much time trying either.
