I keep getting calls from this company saying I owe them money but no one can give me what account it was deposited in or institution, the amount owed has changed several times and they are threatening me with arrest
The rudeness and vulgarity reported here is fairly common in the collections industry, and illegal. National Asset Recovery Service is a legitimate business with hostile practices, one of many which get away with outlawed behavior because people don't know they have rights or how to defend them.
If you are receiving repeated, misdirected, and/or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, the Federal law which regulates collector behavior and provides you simple tools for your own defense. It grants you control of how you are contacted, and collectors can be sued for their crimes. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov. See also your state laws for additional support.

The Company NARS as it showed on my caller ID called this morning asking for my mother, I am an adult and haven't lived with my mother in over 15 years and she has never stayed with me. They are rude and nasty and I don't know if they are legit or not I am trying to get some more information. I just asked them what type of company they are and they said Call Center and were so rude, they don't need to call my phone anymore.
Left message to call 800# Didn't say who they were or what they were calling for.
A lady with an Indian or Pakastani accent called for our daughter using her married name. She moved out 15 years ago. This same lady previously called a couple of weeks ago with caller ID showing 636-530-7985
NARS. At that time she left a message on the answering machine and gave a callback number as 866-869-5502. I assume it is a collection agency trying to collect on an old debt. They probably have more than these two numbers that they call on.

. She called again about 2 weeks later with the caller ID showing the 866 number. I assume it is a collection agency trying to collect on an old debt.
Just received a call from this company. Caller ID said "NARS". They asked for someone named Connie. Wrong number no one by that name lives here. I hope they remove our number from their call service. After reading other posts about them calling and asking for a person that does not live at the residents, I have to wonder if this is some kind of phishing call.
OK, can anyone tell me if they have a legite claim to call? Does anyone actualy owe money or are they a scam? It's great that you write how rude they are, but what we realy need to know is are they a scam company? I got a call and then called them back and they told me they could only speak with my wife about her bill and to have her call back. To my knowledge she has no past due bills and i have paid all of her debt when we got married. So I am hesitant to deal with this company.
They called,I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. Someone named Jacqueline left a message wanting to speak to a Melissa. There is no one by that name at this address.
keep getting calls from here- thanks to another user I was able to find this- maybe if everyone floods their phones, emails, mail boxes or calls their state attorney general to file mass complaints about these nuisance calls, perhaps they will stop. here is the info for their offices in Missouri, Panama and Jamaica

This "agency" first called with the number blocked, I blocked thier calls. Then they went to calling with NAtional Assets showing on the caller ID and today I got NARS. They call and ask for someone whom dosen't live here and they will not stop calling. Call at least three times daily.
They left a message for collections. I'm sure they mixed up their paperwork.

After reading these comments, I can't believe they would actually use the "f" word while making a supposed collections call. They need to have an FCC complaint filed against them immediately. They left a message on my machine telling me to call IMMEDIATELY. I have no overdue bills, but I sometimes find these people call trying to locate a neighbor or family member who may have debt. UGH. It's a waste of my energy to even have to get up and look at the caller id. :(
This number pops up on my phone on a daily basis sometime 2-3 times a day at all hours of the day. I have my phone ringer turned off along with my answering machine, they will eventually get the message that no one is going to answer there call, especially since I don't have any debt and I'm on the NDC list. This has worked for me for several other annoying solicitors, collectors that call my number. After about a week of not answering the home phone they eventually give up and will leave you alone. If anyone who knows me needs to get hold of me they know my cell number. Give it a try and see if it works for any of you.
An article was written on National Asset Recovery in today's AJC:
just got a call from this number on my cell phone. after reading everyone's comments here, i was shocked that they left a message! apparently it's target. my bills are current though, so i'm not sure why they're calling...
I received two calls from this number. Never left a name or message. Caller id stated Missouri and listed phone number.

These idiots called this morning at 7:52 AM. They have a bad habit of calling earlier or later than they are supposed to. I never answer and they never leave a voicemail.
Annoyed in OR Sep 13th, 2007
This is getting really annoying. These people call all the time. If we don't answer, they never leave a message . . . if we DO answer, there is silence on the other end of the line.
My husband is from Missouri, but doesn't ever remember anyone's phone numbers but his parents', so every time these people call he automatically thinks it is his family or one of his friends calling and he will pick it up . . . only to have silence on ther other end.
Only twice did someone say anything when we answered. Once, the lady was EXTREMELY rude to me and when I asked for something in writing stating what was owed and what for and for the calls to stop, she yelled at me "We don't have to stop calling you. We'll call you as many times as we want until you pay us our f*in money." I told her to f off then hung up.
The only other time anyone has said anything when we answered was when my husband answered once. They asked for me by first and last name and when he told the caller that I was unavailable and asked what the call was about, they yelled at him "Tell you f*in wife or girlfriend or whatever the hell she is to pay her goddamn bills." He asked what they were talking about and they told him I/we owed for something we've never even HAD.
They just called again a few minutes ago and hung up when my husband answered.
Same company, National Assets. I got them to tell me who they were. Its a collection agency, same with phone no. 636-530-7985
Received a call from these folks at 6:15AM today. I live on the west coast. They were calling from the midwest. When I notified the caller it was illegal to make collection calls that early in the morning, he told me "f* you" and hung up.

did not say who they were or what they were; just asked for a name i never heard of. told them that and they didn't believe me and kept asking for the name then asking me, very sarcastically, "you don't know her?"
Foreign-accented woman calls: "Joe. Joe. This is Tasha. It is imperative that you return call. 866-850-4419. Thank you." Then the message plays a song: "should I be a beggar... rags to riches" or something like that until my voicemail is filled. No other details.
When I google 636-530-7985
, the Caller ID that displayed on my cell phone, I find:
National Asset Recovery Service, Inc.
16253 Swingley Ridge Road
Saint Louis, MO 63017
calls; no msg; I do not answer. calls before 7:30 am and as late as 8:30 night..still do't answer--
I have received three calls from them. Have not been home to take call. I don't own any debts excwept for two remaining house payments. And maybe 20 car payments.
I answer the phone at my place of business. They asked for a Miss Young. I told them we didn't have a "Miss Young". The man was so rude that I actually started thinking someone was prank calling me. I couldn't believe someone would be so rude. I told him this was a place of business and our employees are not to receive personal phone calls. He told me he would be calling back. He kept asking me if I was "Miss Young". Finally, after he aked mulitple times and harrassed me, I said, "NO, I AM MISS HUTTO!" I think someone needs to file harrassment charges against them. I shouldn't be harrassed at work for someone else's debt. They shouldn't be harrassed in that way either. These people are crazy.

Received a call from them -National Assets Recovery - this morning. The girl was extremely rude. I told her what I could pay and she said "this is not Burger King and you can't have it your way," and that I had to pay in full, which I cannot. She started yelling and insulting me. It was awful. I asked for information in writing and no calls and she said they did not have to send anything in writing because they were a collection agency. I said for her to never call again and she said I had no rights and they could call as many times as they wanted every single day.

Repeated calls. I see someone else says it is a collection agency but we have no debts of any kind, much less any past due. They leave no message.
They call almost every day but hang up when I answer.
I was given a cell phone as a gift recently, and when I set up my voice mail, there were already two messages on it for somone named ### from someone calling himself "Michael". He gave this number. Since then, I've received a call from 636-530-7985
asking for the same person. A Google search indicates that this second number belongs to one Michael Juniewitz of National Asset Recovery, Inc., a collection agency in Missouri. Mystery solved?
