Caller ID showed “1st West Bank FSB” with number as 626-583-1370, an area code and prefix designating North LA County and San Gabriel Valley. Got pre-recorded robocall message and it was a very perky voice “Diane” wanting to clean my carpets, 2 rooms for ONLY $49.
Pressed 1 to access the scam, and got a very bored female telemarketer. I asked a few questions, played along for a for a couple of minuets until I asked about where the company was located. She hung up on me!
Recorded message by Diane for a carpet cleaning service. No name provided.

Unsolicited calls from (626) 583-1370 mid-day, M-F to my mobile.
I'm on the National Do Not Call List.
Automated female voice, Samantha, with a sales pitch for carpet cleaning.
I don't believe a company name was mentioned.
Reverse Directory reveals this is an AT&T landline in Pasadena, CA associated with a division of One West Bank called Indy Mac.
The number is listed on the Arc-Law Group and Indy Mac website(s), as a 'short-sale' FAX number for Indy Mac currently (a mortgage lender for One West Bank).
Calling the number back, you can hear FAXs being sent.
I didn't notice an opt-out option but according to one of the commenters above, there was an opt-out (if you press
Lots of hang-ups on my voice mail and robo-calls with dry cleaning offers. No way to make them stop because it's not a live person. If you say STOP CALLING ME it disconnects but they call right back. I ended up having to turn off my mobile because of these stupid calls.
This was a weirder-than-usual one:
I was on the phone with Costco Concierge Advanced Tech Support troubleshooting a recently-purchased computer. The agent had control of my laptop, too. The caller i.d. showed a call was coming in but I just wanted to see the number vs. taking the call.
I never clicked on to the call.. it literally booted me off of my tech support call (don't really know how this is possible, but that's what happened). Without clicking on the incoming call, I heard "....Hello- This is Samantha and I'm calling because you've qualified for free carpet cleaning.. blahblahblah"....
(Samantha is a Robo-Calling avatar -non human-)
I wiped the robo-calling telemarketing call away and the tech support agent was still there. I told him about receiving these stupid robo-calls all of the time so he started searching-out the number that called me on my own computer that was in front of me. We were finding many complaints re: this scammer/ fraudster company.
It looks like this auto-dialling, robo-telemarketing call is coming from a number that used to be West Bank (no longer exists). They are offering discounted (or free) carpet cleaning ... as long as you and I have a valid credit/ debit card (so much for "free").
I'm officially on the Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call Registry and the reason for that is because I have been slammed I the past by these invasive, intrusive robo-calling telemarketing calls. The FTC says that any telemarketing company ('real' human or avatar) that does not offer an OPT-OUT option is breaking the law.
I called the number back numerous times to request that they stop calling and each time it's been a series of loud beeps/ buzzes. Another time it sounded as if the number was connected to a FAX machine, and sending a FAX. Another time it was a super-fast 'busy' signal. Each time I received a strange beeping siren-sort of noise. (?)
I'm reporting them to the FTC's Do-Not-Call Registry.
Obviously a spoofed number - canned female voice asks if we want carpets cleaned -- not the 'bank' listed on Caller I.D.
"Cleaning is fast drying and one hundred percent safe for kids or animals and we also clean upholstery area rugs drapery and tile floors because you were kind enough to listen to my message. I will throw in to your to rising absolutely free. I just wanted chance to add you to a growing list of satisfied customers who appreciate good service and a great price. Please press one to book an appointment press eight to be removed from the list."
Caller ID says 1Wst Bank FSB.No message . Obviously a scam. 626 area code is in Pasadena CA area.
