Tommie, the object is to create false shame by hassling everyone your grandson ever knew until he comes out with his checkbook open. Debt collectors call third parties to alleged debtors all the time for permitted skip tracing purposes, or often pretending it's a trace when their target's location is already known.
Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Most are simple to exercise if you only learn how. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.

It's reliant capital solutions. Debt collectors. 614 is a Columbus, Ohio area code.
I guess they are looking for my grandson who has never lived with me, why do they call my number?
No Zoey > > They are looking for ANYBODY they can scam money out of even if it's been past 7 years. Their just Scammers & no good idiots on the other end who want what money you have. IF YOU or ANYBODY has a problem with this, You can go to the AG website in your STATE & they have a specific setup for these kind of calls to catch them in the act. It doesn't have to be for child support or anything legal in the relm of law. A specific website is set up to catch these scammers & you can report them to the AG as much as you want. My suggestion is let 'em call. When the calls build up to at least 6 to 10 times then report all calls to the AG but DON'T stop noting the calls. Keep plugging AG with this problem & sooner or later it will be fixed. A lot of the times if you have a CID in your area, you can tell it is a DEBT COLLECTOR just by looking at the #. If it is a 800, 877, 866, 404, 218, 402, 740, 614 anykind of # that is not an actual area code, it is a debt collector. If you are unsure of the # when it comes up & you do have a CID, run it on this website to check it 1st because a lot of these people have different phone #'s & to find out what they are, go to the top of the page on this website where it tells you who is calling, click it & all the #'s that particular place uses "pops up". This is for anybody else out there having problems like this with any scams or hang up #. Hope it helps. GOOD LUCK!
