Caller ID says "Telemarketer." Stupid move. I'm never going to answer a call that says that other than to pick up and hang it right back up to keep it from going to the fax machine.

NOT tied to car warranties. This is Asset Acceptance corporation. A very dangerous bogus Debt Collector. Answer at your own risk. This group is notorious for re-aging already bogus debts.

Look at this thread again, Kitty. By Sep 2009 all the comments about a warranty scam cease and discussion of Asset Acceptance takes over. That suggests a phone number changed hands. A random scammer isn't going to care who in your house answers the call, but your caller was not willing to talk to you, only a certain person. That is very common debt collector behavior, out of deference to privacy rules in collections laws.

I think the warranty mailing may be a dumb coincidence, and AACC thinks your husband owes something. If so, wait for a dunning letter. By law it should be along in a few days. Make AACC validate its claim by letter. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how.

Those of you getting skip trace calls at home and work for other people can merely send a cease-comm notice. Send either letter via USPS Certified with card to preserve your rights.

If you are receiving repeated, misdirected, and/or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, the federal law which regulates collector behavior. Learn your rights at FTC-dot-gov. See also your state laws for additional support.

Been getting calls from this number. I did answer once and they asked to speak to my husband. I asked who it was and got a answer that I couldn't understand, asked again and she was insisting to talk to my husband. I said If you can't talk to me you shouldn't be calling, and as I couldn't understand who you were that I guess that it wasn't important and not to call again as I am on do not call list. That if they continued I was going to do *57 then call the police for harrasement. Then going to block the number. If as what I have been reading and they are looking for warrantry for my car I guess the next step would be to call the car company and tell them to stop selling my name. I did get an mailing saying my factory warrantry on the car was going to run out by March 24th. so that may be part of it. I will check back if after blocking I get another call from a different number to see if its the same company.

I got a call from this number last week and answered but after a 2 to 3 second delay I hung up because that means they are using an auto dialing program. Got another call today, they left no message. Called back and phone just rings and rings. No answering machine, just goes dead after about 12 rings. Thank you to user below "Complaint1" for providing the 877#, I called and it is a collection agency. They were looking for 1 of my former employees and said they would remove my business number from the file. I will post again if call me again.

Chasing me for a debt I never had. I had an account for a month with President's & First ladies, closed the account and paid everything up in 1989 and now this debt collection agency is calling saying I owe something. I get the feeling they sell paperwork to new people (collection) every so often for I have had a call every 5 years or so for the last 10 years saying I owe something. DON'T THINK SO.

They initiate the call, and when I answer they play a pre-recorded voice message, over and over.

The message states sternly that, "This Invoice is over Due and Payable now. Press 1 to charge this Invoice to your Credit card....."

There is no other option to speak to someone or any other choice. This bizarre message just repeats over and over.

True thieves.

Postcards sent out from Dealer Services/NAWS/US Fidelis can be seen in the links below. They had a special group of employees that worked calls that came in as a result of these cards. 90% of the people who called were under the impression that these cards were from their car manufacturer. I know; as I worked in this group for about 3 months.

I was shocked when I found out that US Fidelis will be sponsoring Rusty Wallace racing for 35 NASCAR races. Steve Wallace, Rusty’s son will be driving the US Fidelis car. I cannot imagine why his business …Rusty Wallace Racing…would do business with US Fidelis when they are under investigation by several state Attorney General’s; most notably the one in their own state…Missouri. See the link below.

Rusty--- go to the Missouri Attorney General Website and to the Better Business Bureau of the St. Louis Area and look who you are dealing with!

http://www.consumer.ago.mo.gov/Know_MO/

You will see that they are also US FIDELIS and NAWS and NATIONAL AUTO WARRANTY SERVICES; and THE ATKINSON GROUP OF COMPANIES. The company changed its name to US FIDELIS because Of bad publicity. They have been investigated and fined by the MISSOURI ATTORNEY GENERAL’S office as well as ARIZONA’S and no doubt several others.

Don’t believe me? Go to the Better Business Bureau’s website and do a search. If you need to narrow down your search, go to the St. Louis area of the BBB site. Wentzville is on the outskirts of the St. Louis Metro area. They are at 100 Mall Parkway and also 200 Mall Parkway in WENTZVILLE, MO.

“The BBB has received numerous complaints regarding this extended vehicle service contract broker. Complainants primarily allege difficulty cancelling policies and obtaining refunds, misleading advertisements, misleading, high pressure or improper sales tactics, poor customer service, failure to pay for vehicle repairs, difficulty contacting the company, misrepresentation of coverage, harassing phone calls and failure to remove names from mailing lists. Important message to all those that have received a call from this number:

The company making this call with an auto dialer is a known scam outfit. They spoofed phone numbers of victims all the time. Sometimes, they spoof non-working phone numbers. The phone number 571-261-0103 is just another victim of these scumbags. I've done a lot of research of this company. Actually, there are several affiliated companies, owned by the same people that try to scam innocent victims. One scam is about auto warranties. The other is about credit card debt relief. Their MO is the same. The use an auto dialer, and call thousands of random numbers. They have no regard to the do not call lists. Your demands or complaints are worthless. They will continue to call you.

They will not remove you from their call lists. Why? BECAUSE THEY DO NOT MAINTAIN ANY. THEY ARE CROOKS. THEY HAVE NO REGARD TO THE MANY LAWS THEY BREAK.

If they call about a car warranty, the message says something as "This is the second notice on your extended vehicle warranty. Press one now to speak to a representative..." The message about credit debt mentions "This is Account Services. We are calling to lower your credit card debt. Press one now to speak to a representative..."

You can lookup this company's listing at the Missouri Secretary of State website. Be sure to click on the "Filed Documents" link at the top of the page. If you look under the Annual Report dated 4/3/2008, (and previous filings) you will see the home address of both the President and Vice President of this company. This is public information:
https://www.sos.mo.gov/BusinessEntity/soskb/Corp.asp?411719

In addition, this Jim Vandiver, or whoever this person really is, has listed more than one location under his profile for different posts. For example, under this post, he is from Council Bluffs Iowa:

This comment is in response to the one from Jim Vandiver.

You are a liar and a shill for National Auto Warranty Services located in Wentzville, MO. We have seen your numerous posts all over the internet and we are on to your lies on behalf of the scumbags at National Auto Warranty Services.

(Note: to everyone: the following refer only to the company National Auto Warranty Services located in Wentzville, Missouri. There are many other companies with a similar name that may be legitimate. Also, there is a company known as "Dealer Services." This is the company that sends warranty expiration letters to your house with a logo that is a copy of the one used by General Motors. Guess what? It is the same company!)

National Auto Warranty Services is one of the biggest auto warranty scammers and crooks in the country. There is no way they are legitimate in any sense of the word.

Want proof? View this link, a press release from the Attorney General of Missouri:
http://ago.mo.gov/newsreleases/2008/030608.htm

They are currently being sued by Missouri for fraud and numerous violations of the state's "No Call Law."

In addition, they are part of a national crackdown on telemarketing fraud from the Federal Trade Commission. This press release clearly shows they were involved in both the state and a federal action:

Alot of people are confusing Dealer Services or National Auto Warranty Services in Wentzville, MO with other companies. They do NOT dial outbound to their customers. The best way to figure out who is calling you is to do something like this:

1. Answer the call and play along, act interested.

2. The first person you talk to is likely just screening calls, so agree to speak with a specialist or sales person

3. Go through the sales pitch and tell them you need to call them back with your credit card

4. Get the callback number and post it here, I'll check back over the next few days. I can check as to who the phone number belongs to and verify it with the utility company.

This was a call to my cell phone. It was an automated message warning me that this was the last day I would be able to get an extended warranty on my vehicle. The odd thing is that I was just turning into my driveway when they called. They gave me an option to talk to a person. I chose that option so I could get as much information as possible to be able to fill in the FCC 1088G complaint form. I received a message that all the customer service representatives were busy and then I heard music (even worse than elevator music). After about a minute the music stopped but the call stayed connected. I left my cell phone on mute for 17 minutes before disconnecting. Maybe the call will cost them a few cents. Hope the FCC is interested in the complaint as it falls under their jurisdiction. Unfortunately I suspect the phone number that was displayed may not be correct but it will still be worth the time considering how many times the same number has been reported at this site.

I just don't get it, why all of a sudden I am getting all these calls to my Cell Phone by different numbers? How are they selecting my number when I don't give it out? Today is the first time a call went to my voicemail, just a recorded message about Auto Warranty. There is strength in numbers and the more complaints then action is taken to stop them.

I have been receiving calls from these people, definately telemarketers. I called back and got an automated message saying please press 2 to remove yourself from call list, or if you are interested in our "Services" please hang up and someone will call you back shortly. I chose hang up because I find greater satisfaction in chewing someones head off as opposed to possibly being removed from the call list, I dont trust that it will happen unless I talk to someone. This type of soliciting should be a crime, it is very harassing to find 3 missed calls and not knowing which ones are important or not.
