I called the number and it was indeed Macy's. They never leave a message when they call and when I called them I found out who it was.

WoW I think I've found the dumbest person on the planet... Kish! This is not Macy's, its a scam you dumba$$!!
Kish u IDIOT
 Feb 06th, 2013
Kish, if you're done throwing tantrums and browbeating comments from three and four years ago, let's do examine what you're shilling for. MCCS, ostensibly an original creditor, has a complaint trail a mile long for collection practices which rival that of the worst third party lawbreakers. Meanwhile Macy's parent Federated Department Stores has some weirdly incestuous relationship with Citi Group. The confusion is understandable. This is something I last wrote about in March 2011.

Those who live in enlightened states with collection laws that apply to original creditors should not hesitate to learn their rights and sue MCCS into submission when necessary. It should also never be taken on faith that the business name one hears or sees is genuine. If a third party collector apes MCCS or MCCS pretends to be what it's not, federal law (FDCPA) then applies.

Official-type material on US federal collection law:

I recently checked my Credit Score and found Macy's on the list of my creditors but I have never had a Macy card at all. I have tried to call the number posted on the website of Credit Beareu ( 800-243-6552 ) but I always heard the message "our office is currently closed. Please call us at normal business hours.", It is 8:50AM in California, which is 11:50AM in Ohio. So what is their NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS? Ridiculous!

You people are all fucking idiots. Pay your god damned bills. Macy's calls after the first late payment to PREVENT you from reporting to the credit agencies as being late. But, if you want to be reported late go ahead miss 2 payments. Dumb fucks you're the reason this country is turned to shit. Again pay your god damned bills and stop harassing people who are just trying to do their jobs.

I have been getting calls from this Number for a little over 1 month....the cust service rep was completely arrogant and ignorant.. Would not give me any info due to they were looking for my wife... they call 3-4 sometime 5 times a day., now, we are not evem late on any payments... i have called this #513-573-8739 trying to get any info on this company as the caller id shows "Calling Center, OH", after calling numerous times and speaking w/RAUL supposedly... i harrassed this moron so much that he slipped up and said it was MACY's CREDIT... after finding this out, i called many times to get the Call Center Manager, to discuss the HARASSMENT that this company has been doing to my family. i was refused a conversation with the manager, i was given no names,,, finally after me being a little obnoxious and harssing them, i got transfered to the manager at this #513-573-8739 name JIM... this asshole hung up on me. I HAVE SINCE BLOCKED THIS #513-573-8739 AS WELL AS MANY OTHER #'S RELATED TO THAT COMPANY FROM CALLING MY HOME, I WILL ALSO NOW BE LOOKING INTO POSSIBLE HARASSMENT SUIT AGAINST THIS COMPANY AS THEY CALL 7 DAYS A WEEK, THE LATEST WE RECEIVE CALLS IS 9:30-10PM.
 Mar 10th, 2009
I keep getting calls from this number and there is never anyone on the phone when I answer. I finally called it back, found out it was Macy's collection, only to be told my account is current but had not been updated. What? This has been going on for a couple of weeks. Whoever is operating this number for Macy's needs to be investigated and shut down.
 Mar 06th, 2009
I have been getting calls repeatedly from this number for the past couple of weeks, and they leave no message, and now they have begun calling up to 6 times a day, all different times of day. I have never picked up the call because I didn't recognize the number. Now that I have "googled" it and seen countless complaints and mentions of Macy's, I realize it must have something to do with making 1 payment late, by accident (1, mind you... only 1, and only 1 cycle late). I had even called Macy's direct to try and sort out the problem (a mishap with my bank's electronic payment system), and I only got someone in India! It seems like every company outsources to India these days, and it's SO frustrating because they don't speak English, really, they just read off of a script! They don't reason with you, or even understand our American banking system. Aaaaaaargh! I am going to try getting to the bottom of this by calling some corporate rep at Macy's headquarters. If I can get a fax number, you can bet I will fax the hell out of them beginning with my personal plea and account needs, followed by a print out of each and every online citation and complaint I have found today, about this number. x
 Mar 06th, 2009
With the mortgage crisis and mounting unemployment rate, I don't think your "Macys bill" takes top priority, Althogh these people who can hardly speak english (probably shouldn't even be in the country)still think they can get some money by scare tactics???.I think not.You can't get blood from a stone!! Call on #@*#$!@
 Mar 05th, 2009
Have been getting multiple calls per day from this number. When I answer or the answering mach. picks it up I get a dial tone. It's like some automated calling mach. has broken and just continues to re-dial our number. I tried calling back but the number does not ring through.
 Feb 25th, 2009
Recvd several calls from this number lately. They do not indentify themselves. So I googled the number and came up with all sorts of complaints about the number. Can't anyone do anything about this. This is horrible.
 Feb 24th, 2009
they are tell them payment was made they still call...received e-mail confirmation of payment , they still call..they claim it takes 7-10 days for payment to show up...why don't they wait 7-10 days before they call again...they are idiots and it's probably a call center in a foreign country
 Feb 12th, 2009
people - this is not Macy's. This is a phone scammer trying to get your personal information so they can steal your identity. The other comments on here saying this is a debt collector or Macy's or whoever are either paid shills by this scammer, or were taken by this scammer and have or will have their identity stolen.

Don't be stupid. Don't give any information to people who call you. If it's Macy's they would send you a freaking letter.

Damn! This # calls me every damn day and I can't get a hold of anyone! All I get is music and hold! IDIOTS! Now I get some Indian guy saying it is Macy's and I dont even use my Macy's card! Is there any way to block these people from calling??????????????
 Jan 27th, 2009
This number calls me at least five times per day. I am going to write to Macy's and tell them to cut it out. Thank you! I dont owe Macy's anything!
 Jan 22nd, 2009
I received a call from this number. The person who answered the phone asked if I had a Macy's acct. and if the account was deliquent. I was just in MAcy's over the weekend and had no problem using my card, because my bill is paid up to date. The person asked for my account number when I refuse to give it to them the person got upset. I starting yelling at her (for the hell of it) and of course they hung up. I tried to call the number back again and interesting no one answered the phone. By the way in my yelling i informed the person to promptly remove my number from their list because my phone number is listed on the do not call. I'm a fraud investigator and sure this is a scam........
 Jan 22nd, 2009
This number needs to stop calling. I don't like getting my minutes wasted. I give my cell phone number to NO ONE! How do I get these ridiculous calls to stop?
 Jan 15th, 2009
These calls I am told are of course computer generated. We receive as many as 3 a day for a bill that has been paid to Macys.
For the last week I have tried to get them to stop ringing our phone, but the promises have yet to been kept. We will be closing our account and I suggest anyone else that has suffered this same computer generated harrassment do the same.
When I pick up my phone I expect a human voice, not "dead air." When I return a call I expect an answer, not a recording explaining that their office is closed.
Oh, I forgot! there are no longer any rules or regulations as to how a company opporates it's business. Not for the last 8 years!
How foolish I feel, and how angry I am the we need be subjected to this #&%@...

At least a dozen calls this week. All bills paid in full (haven't use the card in months)

My favorite is the 8 AM call on New Year's morning!
 Jan 01st, 2009
I got this call on my cell. Some here(site) say its Macys. I dont know. I've put a message on my answering machine(landline) to say that 800 numbers, Out of area and any call that isn't identified by my caller ID WILL NOT be answered. I check every call that comes in at first. This method I know must drive the Telemarketers battie. But, like I recorded; If they can't respect me enough to ID,,,,I won't respect them enough to answer the phone. I actually don't know who's has called,,,and don't care. My calls have dropped off considerable. This number,my cell number, I think probable was used by someone before I signed on with my cell company. Don't think it was for me. Put yourself on the "Do not Call list" and report calls that bother you. Its free.
 Dec 30th, 2008
I received a call from someone claiming to be a representative of Macy's. She claimed that my payment was overdue and demanded that it be paid immediately. I told her I would take care of it and she asked if I would like to pay over the phone. I told her that I would take care of it online and she rudely asked me when I intended to pay the bill. I checked my Macy's account. My payment was a whopping one day late. I have never had anyone from Macy's call me to tell me that my payment was late, not even if I completely forgot and skipped an entire month. If you get a call from these people do not pay them over the phone. They are shady.
 Dec 20th, 2008
the CEO of Macy's is Terry Lundgren. His # is 513-579-7000. I left a message. Maybe if he got flooded with calls, he would do something. I have gotten 19 calls from this number in three days. They have been calling me for a month- sometimes every five minutes.
not thrilled
 Dec 10th, 2008
Okay, so come to find out, this is a collections service for Macy's. I do indeed have a Macy's card. I was on travel for most of November for work and was 3 days late on a payment and evidently they sent me to collections. I called Macy's credit services directly to make sure this wasn't a scam and they verified that they did in fact send me to collections. This is poor business on Macy's part. I have been a customer for more than 15 years and a credit card holder for more than 10. I have purchased room-fulls of furniture and have never been in collections with them before. I was so upset that I cancelled my terms with them. The representitive had the balls to say, "If I sent you a 15% off coupon would you reconsider?" A 15% COUPON?? I get more than that with the Star Rewards. I am so upset I cannot believe Macy's would do this.

Anyway, I'm venting.

And yes, this is a collections agency.

Have been receiving calls for several weeks. Finally got curious. I don't have a Macy's account, never did, never will. It's a scam! If you have a Macy's account, return the call by using the number on your card. Not this number!!!

Been calling my house up to 4 times a day for a month now. I don't answer the phone for anyone I do not know. I have never shopped at Macy's online or in person and never will considering the bs calling at early am and late pm. I finally got so fed up and called the 513-573-8739 and talk to a guy from India. He couldn't even find my number in the system. He said he would write a note to take me off the list. They also have the number 727-566-5772 which keeps calling my house non stop for 2 months now. I called the 727 and talked to an American guy. He asked my number and name. He couldn't find me in the system either. He said he was going to take it into the office and ask I be taken off. Both guys were polite to me. Hopefully they get me off the list and I can put my ringer back on. If I keep getting calls. I will be posting again. If you have a Macy or Bloomingdales account. You may have a late bill. That's the impression I got from the ordeal. That's all I know.. Don't ever never ever give personal info over the phone. Like NO Credit Card info, social security number, drivers license ect. If you do have an outstanding bill with someone. Call the company and take it up with them directly. Never give personal info over the phone. To many scams out there to take any chances!
 Sep 23rd, 2008
I am getting the same calls. They call until you answer. One even left a voice message to call back. DONT CALL BACK; then they have your number somehow they get it. I called and all they wanted was personal information and would not tell me what it regarded until I give the personal info. I DID NOT. Once you call your number (even though blocked) goes into some bank and then you start getting calls; even from a 123-456-7890. Interesting. And from a 999-999-9999. Who are they fooling? Not me.
 Aug 28th, 2008
Received calls from this number a couple months ago; I ignored then answered one time; they said it was an agency calling regarding an unpaid medical bill. They asked for my social security number to trace but wouldn't give any info unless I gave them that. I DID NOT GIVE THEM MY SSN.
Then they got annoyed and hung up. They stopped calling until today--saw the number and did not answer. I think it's better to not answer so they think they can't get to you; once you answer they call repeatedly like before. BAD NEWS ON THIS ONE. I think they must get ahold of your credit report and that is why they know what stores you have credit on and make up stories based on that information.

Ok I have a new twist for everyone on this number. They have been leaving messages on our machine, now comes the good part. The message they are leaving is for a person that lives 4 houses down the street from us that we do not even know. I have not been home to get these calls, and have tried calling back the 800 number they leave, but they will not talk to me because it is not my account. I have asked them not to call my number yet it continues. Any suggestions on how I can get this to stop. How can they get away with harassing someone that is not even a customer of theirs? They also show up on the ID under 513-573-8739 & 800-545-1256, that I know of right now

 Jul 30th, 2008
I got calls on my cell phone from this number two to four times a day for just over a month. I only answered the first call, at which time I refused to confirm my name and the last four digits of my credit card (and asked to be removed from their list). During the last week of these annoying calls they tricked me into answering a couple times by calling from different numbers 727-556-5772, 513-573-8739, 513-573-8028, and 928-819-9988). During this final week they also left a message for the first time, asking Carolyn Kirby (not my name!) to call back regarding an "important business matter." Sooooooooooooooooooo annoyingly aggravating!!!

(Just for reference, since it comes up in so many of your messages here, I do not, nor have I ever, had a Macy's or Bloomingdales account.)

I have received a number of calls from this number some as late as 8:30 in the evening. After receiving yet another today, I called the number and a man answere. I asked his name he said Ken. I asked what company I called and he replied, "West at Home". I told him I had been receiving calls frm this number at all hours of the day and night. He said he was surprised becuase they can not call out on the 866 849 3243. He did not volunteer any other information. I thanked him and hung up. On the internet West at Home shows upo as a " Work from Home" emplyment opportunity which acts as a call center for numerous companies. Another website that deals with phone callers said the number belongs to Macy's Collection Department and that they also use 702-366-0303 and 513-573-8739. The person who posted the information saids that they too have recived calls at all hours of the day and night.

This was actually a legit call for me. I got the message, checked my macy's account and there was a zero balance, but then called Macy's just to be sure and found I owed money on another account. I called the number on my credit card to be safe, and found out what had happened. Apparently Macy's has a very strange VISA card system where they divide the bill into two accounts - (1) the account of Macy's only charges (2) the account of outside of Macy's charges. Once I called, they refunded the late charge fee for the bill I hadn't paid, but did not refund the finance charge. Thankfully, I hadn't charged much and caught this in time, but it could have cost me a lot of money with their high interest rates. I really like Macy's, but this credit card system is awful.

Macy's, a department store, teamed up with (outsourcing) tele-collection agency like Xpedite who owns 866-849-3243 (now Xpedite removed this# from its site after being exposed by commentors on this scheme); Macy's gave the tele-collection agency Macy's customer's names & phone#, asking the Tele-CA to fire rapid collection calls; Tele-CA's doesn't have Macy's customers' acccount#, its task is to use computer programmed calls to force Macy's customers to pay Macy's "delinquent" or at least "confirm" if it is his/her phone#. Now Macy's customers' names & phone# are permanent assets of the tele-collection agencies who are also doing telemarketing. Related #s used by Macy's telecollection agency are: 702-366-0303; 513-573-8739 Seems Macy's customers will receive tele-collection calls Macy's "believes" you owe something; if you don't, you receive tele-marketing calls unless you change your # and cancel Macy's cards.
 Jan 23rd, 2008
the calls from 702-366-0303 are from Macy's collection call service, Macy's department store also uses these numbers: 513-573-8739; 866-849-3243. I cut my Macy's card into pieces and called Macy's and canceled this account. To avoid or at least minimized your time waste, you need to assign a ring tone "silent" to any of these numbers when it first shows up. Then your phone still receives your friends' calls OK but Macy's collection calls incoming will not ring.

This is to report that Macy's, a department store, retained certain collection phone service, up to date, I have recorded the following numbers: 513-573-8739; 702-366-0303; 866-849-3243; +7778888. I have had Macy's card for over 10 years and never missed a payment; During the month of Dec 2007, I didn't receive Macy's bill; I called Macy's customer service and reported this situation, customer service person promised to send me a substitution bill; I sent my payment any way but 3 days later than the supposed due date. Appears Macy's immediately sent my account for collection ($51). The collection phone service called me with different phone numbers, and 3:00 a.m. early morning. I just assigned "silent" to Macy's collection numbers and block all "unknown" or "private" caller. Seems Macy's collection phone service is malicious, no real good faith to solve issue; I canceled Macy's card immediately. I can always use regular credit cards, which just add financial charge if I inadvertently missed a payment.

Received call with automated msg requesting to call 800-545-1256 back regarding Macy's card. I have a card that is up to date. They called on a number that no one even has! Looking for previous person who had my # apparently for a past due bill. DEFINITELY MACY'S COLLECTION!

They called and then a recording said that a representative would be with me shortly and that I should wait! I hung up and called them back and an answering program that did not state the name of the company said that the office was closed. When I called back during normal business hours, they said that I was calling Macys, and they wanted my account information because they said they probably called me about my Macy's Credit Card. I hung up, because when I called them, why didn't the answering service say the name of the company? It did not seem right.

I just read Cococali's comment and she is exactly right. I was behind on my payments and didn't realize it due to the fact that the statements were being emailed to me and going into my deleted folder. I had forgotten I used my Macy's charge card, one I seldom use. I felt like a total fool when I answered the call from this number and waited for someone to come on line to talk to them. With a cocky attitude I told them that I was aware of their scam, I read about it on the internet. They were very polite to me the entire time. When I hung up I went on line to check out my Macy's account and sure enough, it was Macy's calling me to tell me that I was a couple months behind on my payment. The moral is, "Don't believe everything you read on the internet."

This is Macy's calling. I read all these online comments that it was some scam of some sort. If you recieve a call from them, just call Macy's toll free number and you will find that this is legitimate.

They had called several times but never left a message. I called the number back and it was a rep from Macy's with a reminder that I was late on a payment. She was very helpful and did not ask for any information of me except phone number and name to pull up my account. I know this was not a scam because she was able to see my account information and could verify the payments that I had made. Your probably getting the call cause you are behind in payment. Get your account up to date and they will stop calling

Although this # is different, I have been receiving phone calls daily from a 727-556-5772 # and this #. Since I stopped answering the 727 phone calls, the 513 started calling constantly. I have a macy's acct. but am NOT a deliquent customer. They asked for my but I was not home... Then a few weeks later, they asked for my dad by his first name, he spoke to a woman with an Indian accent. she demanded for a payment over the phone or to send a check to them because he owed macy's money. He told her to check her records because she did not know how he made his previous months payment when she asked him to send a check. he was upset and told her off. So, he told her never to call again.

Apparently, the person who asked for me was a man with an Indian accent calling from the 727#, the woman calling for my dad too had an indian accent calling from the 513#. Today we received 2 calls from this # again, and this time we did not answer! this is a scam. I wouldn't be surprised if they stole peoples information from a company's website or other means of getting our contact information! I want this Shit to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pls. HELP US!

I used to work at macy's and because my name is in the computer program in the corpoate office they have been calling em telling me I owe them money on my account. I didnt open a macys account even when I worked there so they are full of shit. dont give this phone number any info just say they have the wrong number, they might ask how long you have this number and tell them that it is not there concern and hang up the phone cause they could trace your phone number to your address and start sending you stuff. Mason, OH. This number has called me no less than 10 times just today. If it is Macy's I don't even have an account there! VERY ANNOYING TO SAY THE LEAST!!!!
 Oct 05th, 2007
So I called Macy's to check and sure enough they show I owe money. I have asked them to send me a statement. This is clearly a collection agency trying to find people with outstanding balances and their tactics are to call people with the same names as those with outstanding balances. I guess if your name is John Smith you will get a lot of calls.

I guys by the name of Mr Burton called from that number. He wouldn't say who he was!
 Sep 10th, 2007
I've had more than a month of 2-3 calls per day with them only leaving a message once of minimal content. My cell provider cannot block the number. The number originates in Mason, Ohio. I called their police department. The number is a local, unlisted number. In order to proceed with credit fraud path and thus to get the calls to stop, they said each call recipient must file an "attempted credit fraud" report with their local police department and then our local police will contact Mason who then gets the authority to obtain the unlisted number info. Maybe then it will stop! Given all the reports on the web, and there are a lot, this number is clearly attempting to scam credit info and/or money out of people.

It is Macy's / Bloomingdale's collections. I have been ignoring the number for a couple weeks and they finally left a message. The person didn't leave a name and so I called back the 1-800 number she asked me to. They couldn't find me and asked me to inform the rep that she has the wrong number the next time she calls back.

FDS Bank (never heard of it)
1 800-950-0340 (this is the number he gave me as a call back #)
He asked for my gf. I told him she was not available. When I asked what this was about he stated it was about an account that needed to be addressed. Sounds fishy to me.

All of you wondering if this is a SCAM or someone breaking the law or someone harassing you... It's NOT. It's simply a bill collector trying to get the money that you owe to MACY'S Department Store. Probably your credit card that you never paid. And if you've never charged goods to Macy's, then they've probably got your number from the previous owner. If so, answer it and tell them they've got the wrong number and to stop calling. That WILL end the calls.

I didn't pick up when i saw the caller id, and the message said "this message is for [my name here]" with my actual name, and then NOTHING else...but from the other comments it seems like a scam.
