These nitwits have called me numerous times and play a dumb recording about my car warranty expiring soon. The first time these idiots called, I pressed the star or pound button to speak with a representative. The jerk that answered the phone wouldn't tell me 1) what kind of car he was calling about (between my husband and I we have 4 vehicles) 2) how/where he got my phone number from. He kept asking me for MY phone number, MY name, WHAT YEAR/MAKE/MODEL of car I had...I kept telling him "You called ME! I didn't initiate this call...tell me how you got my private cell phone number". He then said "Ma'am, you called ME by opting in (pressing star or pound during the recording)". I then told him to go F$&@ himself and hung up on him. I got a second phone call from these idiots today, this time with the phone number looking like Thomas Sebastian (the first call was from a supposed Jasmine Jaminez 508-993-6098
). This time I called the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) at 877-382-4357
. I filed a complaint and the FTC told me this car warranty place is "spoofing" people by making it look like the call is coming from a resident phone line. The FTC has gotten a lot of complaints about this warranty company and they are trying to shut them down. PLEASE CALL THE FTC as soon as you get a call...give the FTC the phone number that called you (the phone number these idiot car warranty people called you from) and file a complaint. The "spoofed" phone numbers will help the FTC track this company down. What really sucks is that this company seemed to use a bank of neverending spoofed numbers, so you can't really even block all of the numbers from calling you. I think I'll scream if I need to change my cell phone number!!!
