A man with an accent (India?) claimed to be from Microsoft. He said my computer has been sending Microsoft error messages, and I needed to follow his directions to correct the problems with my computer. I asked the caller to corroborate some information on my computer, and he gave me wrong product ID numbers for Microsoft software I own so I told him I was hanging up on him and not to call back anymore. Beware: the caller was smooth. He was ready for each of my push-back comments and had an immediate, "reassuring" answer to questions I asked: Why would Microsoft spend money to call individual customers about error messages customers' computers were sending? (His answer: Microsoft hires other companies to do this for them.) My Microsoft and Norton products normally give me a pop-up message when there's a problem. Why did this not happen this time? (Your computer has been sending us error messages for which a Microsoft representative needs to walk you through the fix.) I asked him to give me some information about my computer to verify his story was true. He had me look up the Product ID for my OS. Then he proceeded to read the wrong numbers to me. I told him his numbers were wrong and that I was hanging up on him. Please don't call me again.

Some guy named "Victor" with Indian accent from "Vendor Services" tries to explain to me I am disseminating malicious virus and malware to others on the internet. I decided to have some fun with it. First he asks me if I lent my computer to anyone over the past couple of months. Then he asks me to turn on the PC so as to ascertain the OS. Then he wants me to look into the Event Viewer to try to convince me that the Informational Messages are all malware signatures. He asks me to count the number of messages from today and comes up with something like 160 viruses on my machine. Then he wants me to check if I have any antivirus installed before asking me to go to and download the client so I could remote to their "Windows certified engineers" to clean my system. At this point I told him I needed admin rights to download the exe and why do we need to use non-MS product anyway. He then tried to convince me that Teamviewer is a Microsoft product! Still playing dumb, I then asked how much this was going to cost me. He said it was free and I asked him how is that, my OS is out of warranty. And so he said this service was specifically for those out of warranty. Then I asked him how he got my number and name then, his response was "from the store you bought the PC from". At that point I asked him to put me in touch with one of these "certified engineers", to which he responded that they were in a different place.
When I then asked if they were in India or something, he seemed to be somewhat offended. When I calmly explained that he said they were in a different place, I was wondering if they were in India, he hung up on me.

Received a call at 8AM EST from caller with Asian Indian accent. Caller claimed to be Dale from Microsoft and they were getting numerous reports of malware and other problems on my computer. He was going to show me how to fix and prevent them. When I told him that my computer wasn't on and I wasn't going to turn it on he hung up. I didn't get the chance to tell him I have Antivirus/Firewall software and also run other malware removing programs regularly. Pure scam, purpose unknown, don't do anything they tell you.

This scumbag operation called me at 6:25 AM and woke me up. I didn't answer because the CID was "Washington Call" which I didn't recognize. The caller didn't bother to leave a message. I am on the DNC Registry, but that means nothing to these law breakers. If this is the same operation that wants to "fix" your computer, they called my elderly mother a couple of weeks ago. But, she didn't give in to their fast talking scam. National Do Not Call Registry--another example of the failure of our federal government, whether it is led by the democrats or the republicans. Has there ever been a telemarketer, legitimate or scammer, that has been punished under the laws of the NDNCR? All the federal government has been successful at is closing down Nativity Scenes at Christmas. Just saying!

Called with thick accent, said she is from Windows and calling from CA. I told her 425 is a WA area code, so she seems to be scamming me. I told her I don't have a Windows computer but she kept going. I answered her inane questions with silly answers but she kept going, trying to get me to type something on my computer. I was bored, so I asked for her supervisor. Her boss said she could tell my husband was having an affair. I told her I am a lesbian and my husband is gay; she told me that was the problem! I asked for details on the affair, and she concocted a story. Finally, she asked me to look at my hand, at my middle finger. I said I didn't have a middle finger. She finally hung up. Then I used my call rejection service from Qwest so I don't hear from her.

My call came around 1630 eastern time. This Indian man kept telling me that he was calling from Windows and I was downloading Malware onto my computer. I kept telling him I don't have any Malware on my computer and I have programs that detect such programs. He kept arguing with me and I finally hung up on him......Guess what he called me back and I hung up on him again. He wanted me to do something with the CTRL key on my keyboard. No way he could have gotten my phone number I purchased this computer from my father a lot of years ago. LOL. This guy lost out when he called me :)

They keep calling wanting to refund my money, but then they want my credit card, bank account and checking account numbers to set up a Western Union account to then charge me money. I have filed complaints with Federal Trade Commission. They must have followed my Google searches because they have called back stating they are from the federal trade commission, with the same voice and accent. They now want me to set up a pay pal account. I just want them to stop calling. They claim to want to refund my money for computer virus cleaning software, but my credit card company refused to pay, so I never paid anything. The claim they want to refund my money is false.

I just received a call from this number. They asked to speak with my wife - and I advised I was her husband and she was not home - asking if I could help them with something. They politely responded that indeed I could - as they were calling about the computer my wife uses and that there may be a problem with it. I replied 'Oh, which computer might that be?' - 'the one with Microsoft Windows on it - a recent patch downloaded by Microsoft has actually opened a portal allowing dangerous files to be downloaded into it making her computer and her identity at risk.' - I had to have a little fun with this guy... I'm sorry, I just did. I paused a moment - and he came back, 'Sir, do you have access to her computer - I could help you resolve this issue in just a few moments - are you aware of how dangerous this could be to your wife and your families well being?' - Okay, now he's hooked... and I'm gonna fry him. "Well sir, yes. I do have access to my wife's computer - however there are a couple things that you should know. First, my wife doesn't use a PC - she uses a MAC - which doesn't operate Windows. Second, I'm a director of an IT department - and I've got my home and all the computers (PC/MAC) well protected, and Third, I am not buying an ounce of the bullshit you're selling - so take my number off your list." - Oh, that's nice sir - click. - I'm still laughing my ass off...

Received a call from this number; had them wait on hold while I came to this site to look up the number as it didn't seem legit. IT looks like it is a scam, and the person on the phone sounds foreign (Indian?). I asked for their employee ID and they gave me a format that does not match with Microsoft employee ID numbers. I hung up on them and they called back two more times; I eventually had to raise my voice on the phone call and tell them to stop calling me, at which point they stopped (for now).

Have received several call from this number an others all stating that they work for Microsoft. They said my computer is sending them messages and they can fix my computer. I know this is not true because I have that feature turned off on my computer so I told them I don't own a computer. The person said my number would be removed from their directory and I would not be called again. They wait a month or two then call from another number. This is a scam to gain control of and information from your computer.

Recieved this call from one person who said that my computer was sending error messages and they could fix it. Sounded like a scam so I unplugged my network and followed along for the time being. Told that I was going to be transferred to another person, I noticed a couple people talking in the background. Hitting the windows button + R and typing in eventviewer, explaining to me that the warnings and errors are viruses. So I asked how they got my number? They said it was in the Windows Tech Support database. That is highly unlikely since this is a new phone number, 6 months old, on the do not call list and unlisted at that. I use my cel phone for my primary. So they were cold calling numbers. I proceeded to go on with this scam and they pointed me to Teamviewer and were going to connect me to the service department to repair my errors. That is where I stopped this conversation!! I use Teamviewer and know what it does. There is no way anyone should let someone else connect to their computer from someone who is not answering questions without knowing you or your name without giving it to them! If a person does this, they deserve to get scammed!!
Don't do it!!

According to the Caller ID history, that 425-668-9652 tried to call us on 9/19/2013 at 10:06 a.m. Our call blocker stopped it from getting through. It has first ring suppression, so telemarketers can't even disturb us with a ring. I believe the caller is a scammer because it's not even a valid phone number according to

This is a SCAM! 2 calls from this fellow this week. The CID number is spoofed so who knows where the calls originate. Strong Indian accent. Wants to "fix" my PC. He didn't seem to like the fact that I only own macs. Second time I just hung up on him.

The NSA can spy on all of us but apparently they are totally useless when it comes to tracking scammers from overseas. WTF? Cut their budgets if they can't protect us from fraudsters. Meanwhile the Justice dept has offered a $50000 reward for anyone who can stop phone spoofers, all of them scammers. Anyone?

Caller ID said "Washington Call" from 425-668-9652. Hindi male addressed me as Ma'am repeatedly as if he were reading off a script. Asked if I was the owner of the computer. I asked what company he was with...he said "Windows Computers". He kept badgering me to answer his questions. I told him he was interrupting my evening meal. He said if I did not handle this call properly he would harrass me at supper time daily from now on. I told him to take me off his call list. He got belligerent and started mouthing off. I told him to shut up and that if he calls again I will find him, hunt him down and kill him. Then I hung up. Felt good to tee off on a scumbag.

He then stated he worked for Linux, then he began asking me if I wanted to be in a porn movie and he would pay me $45,000.00 USD, when I said no he offered $70,000.00 USD. After saying no again, he began insulting me by stating that he wanted to do "stuff" with my Mother, and Sisters. Then they wanted to know how big my man part was. Then they asked me if I was gay. Then another man joined the conversation also adding insults. I told them I was actively doing a trace route on their call. The location was in India, so I told them how the trace route was going. They continued to insult me until I told them the least they could do was to insult me in their native tongue and they hung up.

I told them that was not true and asked him to remove my number from their call list. I also told the guy that I couldn't understand him because of his accent. He then got someone else on the phone. I asked that guy to remove my number. He argued with me so I hung up. He then called me back and again, I asked him to remove my number. He argued with me some more. Eventually he said he would not remove my number and then called me a stupid woman and uneducated. I hung up and filed a complaint on the do not call registry.

A "James Austin" called from "Cyber Support". He mumbled something about Microsoft, error messages and providing security. He wanted me to press the Windows key and the number 4 key and tell him what was on the computer screen. The caller i.d. showed the incoming number as 425-668-9652. I asked the caller for his company's phone number and he said 201-334-4604. After stalling him for over ten minutes, I asked him how the weather was in Bombay, he had a heavy Indian accent. He finally hung up. Wish the FCC would nail these guys, they've called before.

these people tried to get me to go to my computer and log on because they said they were from Microsoft and my computer was sending them a lot of error messages from my computer. This was a night time call and I almost did it. But, I felt funny about it that it was fishy, I told them to send me an email.. He asked for my email and when I decided this must be a scam, I refused to give it them, and he kind of got mad.

I just got off the phone with Microsoft in San Francisco and provided them with this information and the telephone number. They are working on finding out who these people are, so do not respond to them if they call you....

He started by saying they were receiving a lot of Windows error messages from me. They tried to get me to go on my computer and type in information that would have connected me to some unknown site on the internet. Asking an unwanted caller to stop is playing right into their hands. Now they know that your phone number is an ACTIVE number.Forget the so called "do not call list'... there is no agency that is charged to enforce it. (It was "feel good" legislation)

SIMPLY: DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE when you see their number on the caller ID.

Just DON'T answer !
