I signed up for Verizon Fios a couple of months ago. Their computer called from this number to say that they're sending me a rebate card.

Verizon wants to move me from copper to fiber. I won't allow it because on copper they provide the "battery" or power, and on FiOS, I have a battery that lasts two hours when new, and zero minutes when it fails.

I want to stay on copper, yet they call over and over again to move me to FiOS -- and TRIPLE MY PHONE BILL! I don't need all of those FiOS features! I also have VoIP lines that give me free calling. I don't need an expensive Verizon fiber line!

They can go to hell.

I do want my copper line for their power, le.

This is not Verizon. These scammers are getting paid to make these calls. Go to telemarketerspam.wordpress.com and read how it works. I have been calling by state reps. office Kenny Marchant and complaining. The FCC can't or won't stop these criminals. Please take time and call your federal state officials and tell them you are angry about these scammers.

Call the NY state attorney general at 1-800-771-7744 and the FTC at 1-877-382-4357. Verizon is headquartered in NY, and neither office will do anything without a volume of complaints - let 'em have it!

} ''My number is unlisted so why am I receiving this call?''

The phrase ''sequential dialer'' comes to mind.

Lovina's report sounds like a service slamming attempt. Item #12 under an article on 800Notes called ''16 Ways You Can be Phone Scammed'' puts it briefly.

My number is a fax number so I hope they continue to call and get blasted. If it is infact Verizon, and
they are calling about an email config change, they should try emailing the info. Will notify Verizon by
email myself. I am not calling.

Caller ID shows Verizon, but when you contact Verizon Customer Service they state they DO NOT recognize this number. Beware, they state your services are changing and to contact them, yet there are no changes to my service per Verizon. This has to be a SCAM and I noted this to Verizon customer service. I asked if they had a place on their site to post this or a customer service portal to look into and she could not direct me. ???? What's wrong with this? I am seriously concerned about having Verizon service and their lack of follow-up. My number is unlisted so why am I receiving this call?

A recorded message telling me about the great rewards I can get for being a Verizon customer. The only reward I WANT is for them to NOT call me with recorded messages.

Jim, if you're asking why a corporate entity has not placed its own number on federal DNC, you have no understanding of the registry. RTFM: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm

Aha! Those dirty telemarketers! I looked up another number on here that caller ID shows as "Verizon"- based in Penn. It's 410-910-0623. I've been getting bombarded every day lately with these damn sneaky telemarketers! Now this number 951-719-8700 shows up as unknown, but on this site it also shows up as Verizon California INC. (GTE) based in Temecula, CA. If it was legitimately Verizon calling, the number would not show up as "Unknown", plus they would leave a message on my answering. Of course I never answer telemarketers when they call, all you get is a hangup or a recording anyway. Verizon wouldn't be calling anyway, it they have info on changes, it'd be in your billing statement. I see that the damned DNC registry hasn't been working lately!
Stop calling and harassing people you annoying telemarketers!

I read these messages and I see these so called Verizon telemarketers have been at it for years. I got tied of the jerks calling and not leaving a message, and at other times they filled up my answering machine with incredibly long winded BS! I finally answered one day and was asked a bunch of misled questions- to which I gave them misleading answers. LOL! I also told them that I was just the babysitter and could not provide them with th answers or info they were seeking.

Long automated call from Verizon offering some deal or other. Could not interrupt the message or get to an agent even if I wanted whatever deal they were offering. Just set the phone down and let it blab on.

Received 3 calls today on my cell phone from this number and each time no one responded. I called back using the same number and got someone saying that they were Verizon Customer Care. They wanted my cell # and I told them to take a hike.
Called Verizon's main # and was told that this was not something Verizon does.
The scam is...I call you and hang up. I call again and hang up. You call me back and ask who I am and why I am calling you. I ask you for you phone #s and name...now I have your contact info and it only cost me 3 robocalls.

It is Verizon Fios support... They left a message for me letting me know there was going to be some change to the email system or something like that. I don't use the verizon email address so I didn't really care about specifics but that was the gist of it.

The FCC, FTC no call lists, phone companies, politicians do not care about you, the public being inconvenienced by these cretins.
PhoneTray is a free software program that will screen wanted calls or shut down unwanted calls after the first ring.

Plus, you get full-featured Caller ID software that shows and speaks callers name and number, logs all your incoming calls, blocks unwanted calls and zaps telemarketers.
Caller ID, computer and voice modem needed but easy to setup. Worth it... http://www.phonetray.com/

Calls from (410) 910-0623

Apparently auto-dialed, several times an hour for the past 2 days.
(The auto-dialing dials multiple numbers at a time and usually only connects with the first numbers that pick up, so you won't always get connected when you answer)

I re-dialed the number (they are also using 0621, 0618 and various similar extensions) and the recorded message said it was Verizon Sales Inbound Support Line.

They give you the option of 1) talking to live rep to order services 2) Info on National DO NOT CALL 3) Contact the Verizon Do Not Contact list

I pressed Option 3 and talked to a person who took my information and said it would take up to 30 business days to take effect. Not wanting my phone ringing all day for the next month from them, I also contacted the Verizon 800 customer service number to register a complaint and gave them the numeous URLS that also document this complaint. Verizon's guerilla marketing & sales tactics are reflecting very poorly on Verizon and are an abuse of our personal information and privacy.

Call Verizon to complain. Maybe if they get enough complaints they will re-think their tactics. (And fire the sales & marketing manager whose dim idea this was)

Do an internet search on "Verizon 410 910" and you will get a lot of sites with posts from people complaining about these spam calls from Verizon since a year ago 2008.
