Just received a called ID'd as Verizon. The woman on the line also said she was from Verizon, gave her name & asked for my husband by name. He wasn't available, so she asked if I was an "authorized decision-maker". When I said yes, she asked for my name! Uh, I don't give any info to someone who calls me that I don't know. She said she couldn't proceed w/o being able to verify my name as being verified. Oh well, I said, you called me, & she thanked me & hung up. Nice enough, but still...

Call the NY state attorney general at 1-800-771-7744 and the FTC at 1-877-382-4357. Verizon is headquartered in NY, and neither office will do anything without a volume of complaints - let 'em have it!

Caller is illegally spoofing this as "Verizon" but it's not Verizon calling. It's a scam operator allegedly selling cellular service, but they're really trying to get credit card info. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO.

I went to Verizon and told them to stop calling me. I called Verizon and told them to stop calling me. I AM STILL RECEIVING CALLS FROM VERIZON. I need help. I also told them I did not want to be black-mail,by paying them a fee to stop calling me. But they said they would call anyway.Even if I paid them a fee to stop.

Nobody on the other end of the line and caller ID lists the caller as "Out Of Area." Geee, Verizon, how incredibly professional. If you actually managed to connect to somebody for your sales call, do you honestly think anybody is going to buy something from a phone company that (1) Has their ID blocked on Caller ID, and (2) Can't have a salesman available after causing a potential customer all kinds of annoyance with a meal time interruption and "nobody is there?"

I called the number back and there was a numbered option to be taken off of Verizon's solicitation list. I pressed the appropriate corresponding number and a live person took my info and assured me I would no longer receive solicitation calls from Verizon.

Caller advised me to contact Verizon by e-mail to change my e-mail account. This site tells me nothing except all these comments from people who are annoyed by the frequent calls they are receiving. I don't have time to read comments from other users, sorry. The call came from Maryland. What's it all about?

This might have been a call from Verizon as it was a recorded message talking about Verizon Email accounts and
to go to the Verizon.net/425 to change some settings on your email account. Getting tired of all these calls
coming in on my cell phone. Wish the FCC would enforce the do not call policy to allow customers to opt out
all the phone numbers a person has if they don't want to receive these types of calls as well as the political
calls.

I emailed this letter today to: privacyoffice@verizon.com

It's the only email address I could find on their site.

DEAR VERIZON PRIVACY OFFICE,

PER YOUR PRIVACY POLICY BELOW, I AM REQUESTING THAT YOU REMOVE MY TELEPHONE NUMBER FROM YOUR MARKETING CALL LIST IMMEDIATELY.

(NUMBER)

UNFORTUNATELY YOUR PRIVACY POLICY ONLY COVERS WIRELESS PHONES, BUT THIS IS MY HOME NUMBER, SO IF YOU ARE NOT THE CORRECT OFFICE TO WHOM I SHOULD BE MAKING THIS REQUEST, I AM REQUESTING THAT YOU FORWARD THIS REQUEST TO THE CORRECT OFFICE. I'M SURE IT'S EASIER FOR YOU TO LOCATE THAT OFFICE THAN IT IS FOR ME SINCE IT DOESN'T SEEM TO EXIST. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE IT EXISTS, OR CAN'T FIND IT EITHER, THEN PERHAPS VERIZON COULD CREATE AN OFFICE SO ONE EXISTS AND THEN HOOK THEM UP WITH A TELEPHONE AND HIGH SPEED INTERNET AND GIVE THEM AN EMAIL ADDRESS WHICH CAN THEN BE LINKED TO YOUR WEBSITE WHICH I COULD THEN EMAIL TO REQUEST REMOVAL FROM YOUR CALL LIST.

IF THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE, MAYBE YOU COULD TRY TO CONTACT THE PEOPLE WHO SEEM TO BE CALLING ME AT BREAKFAST LUNCH AND DINNER. TO HELP, I'VE SAVED THE MOST RECENT CALLER NUMBERS FROM VERIZON: 401.910.0621 & 401.910.0618. MAYBE YOU COULD CALL THEM AND LET THEM KNOW THAT I AM REQUESTING THAT THEY PUT ME ON THEIR DO NOT CALL LIST.

IF YOU CAN'T GET THROUGH TO A PERSON ON ONE OF THOSE NUMBERS, (OR THROUGH YOUR PUBLISHED CUSTOMER SERVICE 800 NUMBERS OR THROUGH THE WEBSITE) FEEL FREE TO COME BY MY HOUSE FOR BREAKFAST LUNCH OR DINNER, BECAUSE THEY WOULD SURELY BE CALLING AT THAT TIME.

I THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER.

Well, I have Verizon DSL and I don't think they would want to irritate a customer. I agree that the whole ID is spoofed.

Calls from (410) 910-0623

Apparently auto-dialed, several times an hour for the past 2 days.
(The auto-dialing dials multiple numbers at a time and usually only connects with the first numbers that pick up, so you won't always get connected when you answer)

I re-dialed the number (they are also using 0621, 0618 and various similar extensions) and the recorded message said it was Verizon Sales Inbound Support Line.

They give you the option of 1) talking to live rep to order services 2) Info on National DO NOT CALL 3) Contact the Verizon Do Not Contact list

I pressed Option 3 and talked to a person who took my information and said it would take up to 30 business days to take effect. Not wanting my phone ringing all day for the next month from them, I also contacted the Verizon 800 customer service number to register a complaint and gave them the numeous URLS that also document this complaint. Verizon's guerilla marketing & sales tactics are reflecting very poorly on Verizon and are an abuse of our personal information and privacy.

Call Verizon to complain. Maybe if they get enough complaints they will re-think their tactics. (And fire the sales & marketing manager whose dim idea this was)

Do an internet search on "Verizon 410 910" and you will get a lot of sites with posts from people complaining about these spam calls from Verizon since a year ago 2008.

This is becoming old! My caller ID reads Columbia MD. Today they rang three times. The third time they left a message for 1:16 min. It was that irritating sound of a phone off the hook. They pulled that one before. I recently left Verizon for Bright House. Maybe it is Verizon paying me back with a plague of worthless phone calls that cause you too come out of your prarie dog home and look around!

They call SEVERAL times a day..all that ever comes up is "Columbia MD" on the caller ID.
We have attempted to answer, they hang up, or at least don't respond. They never leave a message.

If in fact it is Verizon, we have dealt with them in the past, so I guess that counts as a 'business relationship'. But since they never let us KNOW who they are, I don't think it should apply.
If I weren't searching the net I'd never know who it was.

No message; looks like a Verizon cell call before the name gets assigned.
But there are "hits" on other sites for this being a telemarketer or pollster--go figure.
