Caller ID says Chase? Chase Bank or some other Chase(cat). For some reason they think calling all the time will make you pay. Not! Yes I am behind on CC payments, but I requested help. All done over the phone? No paper work for me to look at, this is how Chase Bank duped me to begin with. Be Careful with this one.

They are the "in-house" collections for Chase. They don't play by the same rules as a collection agency as they are not governed by the same rules. The Fair Dept Collection act governs collection "agencies." A collection agency has to follow the rules or you can sue them, but if it's the in-house, they have a little more wiggle room. If they call and get no answer they can call again and again and again. That's how they keep calling. If your state says that they can talk to you once a day and you answer they're not to call again that day. Some states limit to once or twice a week. Logging in to your account and changing the phone number to something else will just sick them on to someone else. Don't do that to strangers! Instead why not use your local congress person or state representative, or better still the Attorney General's phone numbers?

They called and didnt leave a message. I called back said they said they were Chase Bank. Wanted my account number or my last 4 of my social and I told him no. I asked what the problem with my account was and he wouldn't tell me. He got pissy and I called him a bad name and hung up on him.

I too have been getting repeated calls from "Chase", but up until today it was a different number. They call all day long beginning at 8:00 in the morning and go until 9:00 at night. I filed a complaint at donotcall.gov, and I also filed a complaint with the FTC. The FTC sent me a letter telling me there was nothing they could do! So I found a simple remedy. I let my answering machine pick up, then I pick up the receiver. When my outgoing message stops and it beeps, I hold the receiver next to the answering machine and it makes an awful screeching noise... it's painful to the ears, even mine. When the screeching stops, it means the caller has hung up. I did this for four or five days and the calls stopped. Now, however, they are calling on a different number so I will have to use my remedy again.

A few months ago, I asked Chase to lower my interest rate because I'd been current on payments for 6+ months. They refused because the account was closed because I wouldn't agree to their new terms. "Company policy," according to the rep. What a bunch of greedy cretins.

Aw, come on Chase Bank! You started calling on my home phone because the account was 10 days late. I'd gone "paperless" and forgot to arrange an e-payment. This was done immediately after speaking with you on Sunday, but my bank (not Chase!) takes a couple days to process payments. Now, you called on my cellphone this morning. Hopefully, you'll stop calling after the customer service rep placed a note on the account that e-payment was done. All of our accounts with Chase have been closed within the past year. Terrible customer service and let's not forget who the major contributor to the economic downturn was -- the financial industry!

On a side note... DO NOT go with a debt consolidation firm!! You can do it yourself! The credit card companies are desperate. I wasn't even really behind (15 days because I forgot to pay)but they must have thought I would be defaulting because they called and offered a 43% settlement right off the bat on our first phone call. I probably could have done better if I had tried, but hey they offered so I took it. I made a condition be that nothing bad would appear on my credit report (made them put that and the settlement amount in a letter), and they agreed.... Right now you have all the power, don't let them push you around... Just keep in mind that whatever amount they forgive is taxable, so make sure you have enough money to cover the taxes.... Enjoy

Ok folks, here are some things you can do.... Answer the first time they call each day, and tell them this "I have to advise you that I am recording this call". (BTW you SHOULD record all calls). They will most likely reply that they do not give you permission to record the call. If they keep talking say "As I informed you this call IS being recorded, if you continue this discussion I will take it as you giving approval for the call being recorded". If they didn't hang up before, they will now... The law only allows them to call ONE TIME PER DAY if they actually speak to you, so they will leave you alone the rest of the day. If they keep calling you can sue them, if they call over and over again and nobody is there when you answer you can sue them.... Keep good records and you can end this thing with them having to pay YOU instead of the other way around.... Good luck....

Your credit rating is probably pretty messed up if these hacks are calling you. Do yourself a HUGE favor and contact one of those "Debt Solution" places that settles your debt by AT LEAST 50%. That stops these creeps from calling you and you don't get sued or anything like that.

The Bank (or collecton agency or ex-cons who can't get a better job or whoever they are) keeps calling you because YOU have something they want... money! As long as they are calling you, YOU are in complete control because YOU control the purse strings.

Don't answer the phone because they don't want to do anything but belittle you, intimidate you, and make you feel ashamed.... assuming you can't pay them the hundreds or thousands of dollars they want! Jerks!! Instead, call one of those debt settlement companies and settle your debt for way less.

I saved thousands of dollars, and yes I still have to pay the settlement company a few hundred a month but it's for 4 years and I'm done.

It beats never ever paying the debts off and working until I die, shelling out only interest and whatever arbitrary fees the bank charges every month!!! I would like to thank the Obama Administration for providing so much money to the bank bail-outs that the banks are now subsidized for sucking the life out of me. I suppose I can say I'm getting my money's worth from the bail-outs! Bless the USA.

SORRY CHASE BANK!!!!!!!!!! TAKE THE MONEY YOU'VE BEEN SPENDING ON THESE PHONE CALLS AND PUT THEM TOWARD THE DEBT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAYBE I'D BE NICER IF YOU WORKED WITH ME INSTEAD OF INTIMIDATING ME!!!!!!!

Ok....two things. One, this number has called me 3 times since 8am today & its 9:30am now. I decided to do a lookup and came across all these sites with people posting saying its Chase Bank. Messed up thing is some people have said thats dont even have a Chase account. But all I can think of is that its a scam. I did answer the 3rd time they called and the dude asked me for my Chase Bank Acct.#. I said ummmmm whats my security password and he said Sir I need your account number. So we went back and forth to the point i was yelling and he said sir because of your tone we will call back all day. So im sure when your late with Chase they move your info around on there systems so there collection people can call and some how someone is stealing the numbers or selling them. The people who Claim they dont if your number is listed as oublic they will get it just to get your bank account info. Very put together scam. And the bad part is some people will give the info out.

A very simple remedy. Tell them you don't speak with anyone calling from india, phillipines, or anyone who sounds like they are calling from a foreign country. Also if you are truly behind on your cards, write your credit card companies and state in the letter the above I just mentioned, and YOUR intensions concerning your debt. DO NOT EMAIL! SEND YOUR LETTER VIA SNAIL MAIL!

I can almost assure you, the next time they call you, the person on the other end will sound american.

I have no business with this bank or credit card, yet they call several times a day. This morning at 8:35 am, and then at 8:40 am, which is illegal in MA. I use PhoneTray which zaps the call, but most importantly, it has been logging these telemarketer/autodialer unwanted telephone calls for almost 2 months now. Unfortunately, Verizon(my carrier), and the government,(DNC list), could care about the annoying and repeatdly harrasing calls made to their customers and constituents. Maybe I can use call forwarding to their phone numbers?

Approx 10 calls/day to my house for over a month now from this number. Its gotten to the point where I simply don't answer the phone unless it rings more than 7 times. The vast majority of telemarketers and dunning agencies don't let it ring more than 7 times.

All my friends/family have been told to let the phone ring 8 or 9 times if they really need to contact me.

We're never late with payments and have been a customer for YEARS. I told them that I get great low interest offers from other banks and if they didn't like collecting my interest I would simply transfer it to someone else with out hesitation. So there!!! Neener neener neener!!! ;P

It's Chase, according to everything I can find on the net. I don't have an account with them, but have been receiving calls for 3 months, anywhere from 1 to 8 times a day. They always hang up when the answering machine picks up and never leave a msg - I don't answer unknown numbers when I'm home. They also call from 210-586-0050, 407-771-0887, 407-771-0978, and 800-424-5004. Very annoying, especially when they start at 8 am and call until 9 pm, even on the wkends.
