Its time to screw the scammers up the same way and sue the hell outta them. Nobody is above the law. If they threaten you, tell them they will be chased all the way to prison where they'll have a good time.

Keep in mind that just because it shows a number on your caller ID that doesn't mean it hasn't been spoofed. Also, you can get an internet phone number in any area code from anywhere-- that means I could dial you from San Francisco from an internet phone with a Miami area code. These illegal scammers clearly are trying to hide their tracks so they probably use a variety of techniques to obscure there actual phone number(s) and location. What this means is, if you find a number in the white pages it may be an old listing and if you harrass someone based on that information you may be attacking a completely innocent party and you yourself may be doing something illegal. It probably is worth reporting these calls to the Feds but harrassing them is likely to be counter-productive. Also note that they can easily set their caller ID to show pretty much ANY text, including "Aunt Mary", "Unknown", "Restricted", "COX Cable", or "423-555-3323". They could take the number of the white house and use it as their caller ID string and make you think the president is calling. So use a little brains and realize what you see in the caller ID is probably bogus. At least many of these stick with the same strings, so if you have a service or device that will selectively block by caller-ID you can usually screen out this junk, or use a whitelist for those you want to be able to reach you...

I do not understand why these folks do not give up, after hundreds and hundreds of calls, and I am on the no-call list, however it doesn't seem to stop any of these characters and for the auto warranties, or whatever, there are hundreds of #'s calling, mostly from southeaster states. I am resolved, and have been for 4 years never to answer any number without a name. If it's that urgent someone will leave a message. If not who needs them. They keep calling of course, but I've done all I can. If you should answer by accident usually there will be a silence first,some clicking, which gives you time to hang up. Your friends don't wait 10 or 20 seconds to talk with you while clicking in your ear, or anyone else who has something to say. Good luck all --- as if we don't have enough distraction in our lives!!!!!!P>S> remember most of these calls are not from people so blowing whistles in their ear won't matter one little bit. Don't be gullible. Never answer and never engage, it just encourages more calls.

What kind of people are such blood suckers? Don't give them any information call your phone service and get the number blocked, I too had swearing when I asked questions regarding what they were doing and who they were.
I had a simular problem with a company in Florida doing free gas, found out they were just fishing for your charge card information after I sent all of my gas tickets to them and NEVER got any money back. So I got burned...don't let it happen to you

I wrote the attorney general in our state with the complaint. Also called ATT and had the number blocked. Because when I attempted to call the number it was NOT in service. I just feel sorry for the people that would believe this idiot and hope that no money is lost in this ecomony .

Got a call from this number today regarding a car warranty and I picked it up. I pressed one to speak to a rep and when he asked me for the vehicle information, I replied that they were calling me and I didn't know which car it was for. He then said, "You picked up the f*cking phone, b*tch," and hung up.

I immediately dialed the number and was told that it was disconnected.

Amazing.

These guys are very annoying. illegal and persistant. They waste my time by calling again and again illegally. FLORIDA CALL. 407-658-4336. Phising for personal information, don't fall for it. Don't talk to them. Just let the phone ring and ring and hope they go away. It would be nice if there was something to do about it that would actually work to have the calls stop permenantly like arresting the offenders.

I created a ringtone on my cell phone that is no sound at all and then created dummy contact records with the dead air as the ringtone. Whenever I get a call like this I just add them to a dummy contact and never have to listen to them ring again. When one contact fills up with phone numbers, I just build a new one. It's amazing how many calls I've received from z, zz, zzz, zzzz and zzzzz - they're a very chatty, in-touch family. :-)

OMG, Tim! I laughed so hard reading your post! Thank you! Anyway, this is the first call I've had in weeks (called while I was at work and didn't leave a message) so I'm going to resort to what I did about 6-8 weeks ago, which is turn off my answering machine while at work and at night until 9 or so. This way it just rings and rings and after a couple of days, they give up...for awhile. Either that or just never answer. If you answer, it gives them a time when someone is home and they just keep calling. Reporting these numbers to DNC and/or FCC doesn't seem to do a bit of good, even though I always report them. (I suspect the DNC registry is where they're getting the numbers!) These a******* just apparently ditch a number and get a new Florida number - they're ALWAYS from FL. Like somebody else on here, I have a brand new '09 car - yeah, my warranty is expiring! As I've said before on another FL # - I'm a senior citizen but I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday. What's sad is that some people DO fall for this. Just ignore the rat b******s. Eventually, because of this site, they'll come up with some new scam but at least our car warranties won't be expiring! ;)

636-279-2006 belongs to USFidelis. They insisted up and down that 407-658-4336 does not belong to them and that they do not make any outbound phone calls. The supervisor I spoke with (Margery), stated she would take care of removing me from the list. Ok so how can you take care of that if you don't own the number, and how is their a "list" if you don't make outbound calls? What a bunch of liars. I have no doubt that I will continue to get phone calls and that she will do absolutely nothing. All requests to speak with their General Counsel were refused. Also, they are instructed to not provide any last names over the phone, even their own. This company needs to be sued into the fvcking ground.

This company calls weekly and sometimes calls more than once in a day. They hang up if you try to get their do not call list policy, and get nasty if you actually press "1" and try to speak to the operator. When I told the guy I wasn't interested -- he told me I was interested or I wouldn't have pressed the "1" and he got nasty and raised his voice before he hung up when I tried to respond.

I got a call from 407-658-4336 and as you all know that I'm out of WARRANTY on my CAR BLAH, BLAH, BLAH..., LMFAO....

HERE ARE SOME GOOD TIPS!

1. I pressed 1 to talk to an Operator, LOL

2. When He or She answered, I said you F*cking people call people all the time don't you!

3. He then said yup and hang-up, LOL

4. I decided to call the phone number back ( 407-658-4336 ) and it said it has been Disconnected.

To my understanding that when a phone number has been Disconnected, you will here a Beep, Beep, Beep Tone after the message

played, this number didn't. So this tells me that it's a Machine that play a Boggus Message so you think it's a Disconnected

Phone Number!

So when they call, pick up the phone and wait for the Operator to answered then you get to CUSS them out for FREE!!!!! LMFAO,

good way to get your anger out at someone, hehehehhehe

Sometimes..., I talk to them and then give them a Car Make and Model that was made in the 70's. Give them a run around for a

bit and at the end you tell them they are SUCKERS, LMFAO. This way the Company who hire these people would pay them for their

time since the people who answered the phone is just working for someone else anyway. Good way to tie up the phone line so

they can't call another person, LOL

These people have harassed me for months and several times a week. I am angry at the phone company. They have a lot of power and control. They could stop these people from using fake numbers. They could force them to show the real number and name, but then they don't care. It is all about money for the phone company. I pay a lot of money for call ID so I don't have to deal with these calls and I am on the DNC list, a lot of good that does. I am also mad at the government for not enforcing this list.

Recently, I pressed one and screamed as loud as I could in their ear for several seconds. Of course, I had a terrible headache after that. :(

Filing a Complaint

If you have caller ID and receive a call from a telemarketer without the required caller ID information, if you suspect that Caller ID information has been falsified, or you think the rules for protecting the privacy of your telephone number have been violated, you can file a complaint with the FCC. There is no charge for filing a complaint. You can file your complaint using an on-line complaint form found at esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm. You can also file your complaint with the FCC’s Consumer Center by e-mailing fccinfo@fcc.gov; calling 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-225-5322) voice or 1-888-TELL-FCC (1-888-835-5322) TTY; faxing 1-866-418-0232; or writing to:

Federal Communications Commission
Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau
Consumer Inquiries and Complaints Division
445 12th Street, SW
Washington, D.C. 20554.

What to Include in Your Complaint

The best way to provide all the information the FCC needs to process your complaint is to complete fully the on-line complaint form. When you open the on-line complaint form, you will be asked a series of questions that will take you to the particular section of the form you need to complete. If you do not use the on-line complaint form, your complaint, at a minimum, should indicate:

your name, address, e-mail address, and phone number where you can be reached;

the names and phone numbers of any companies involved with your complaint;

the type of service that you are complaining about;

the telephone number or account number for any service you are complaining about;

the date of any bill you are complaining about, the amount of the disputed charges, and the amount of any refund you have received;

a brief description of the event or action you are complaining about; and

the resolution you are seeking, such as a credit or refund or a clearer explanation of the charge(s).

Annoying to say the least......National Warranty Center? They asked what my make and model of the car was...I asked what car were they calling about since I had 5 cars... They said for security purposes,I had to tell them the year and model. I said they should know since they called me and when I asked for the caller's name he hung up. I tried to call back but the number was disconnected.

I guess it's better just to not answer if you don't recognize the number. A small hassel but I wonder how many people actually fall for it and get scammed.(still not sure what the scam is though).

When Kevein got on the line he asked me what yr my auto was and I told him I didn't have one. He laughed and said why not. I told him I drive a horse & buggy. I also informed him he was in violation of Do Not Call Registry! And I was reporting him as well as company & phone number as I did! I also tried to call that number back and rec'd a recording that th number I dialed was a disconnected phone number and referred me to call 411 for info. This company is Automotive Warranty Solutions. A scam outfit from FL.
"Press 1 if you're interested in a warranty, Press 2 if you want the file closed."

These maggots armed with auto dialers are trolling for victims who are elderly, mentally impaired or persons that are very young and gullible.
If you hang-up on these aholes it does nothing to stop them, they'll keep calling you.

What I do is Press 1 and wait for a live person. I tell them I'm interested and give them false information about my name, car address, etc.
They then transfer me to another dumbass who asks more questions...the thing you want to do is keep them on the line for as long as possible.
If you're good at bullshitting, you'll finally get transferred to the "closer". The closer will ask you more questions and pressure you for your credit card.
(That's really whats it's all about...getting your credit card number. If they don't get a credit card then they have failed.)
So keep them on the freaking phone for as long as you can because it cost them money to actually have to talk with you.
I've had them on the line for 15 minutes before they got wise and finally hung up on me.

When they waste their time with you on the phone, that gives them less opportunity to rip off someone else. Basically, you're doing a public service. Have fun.

Let it go to caller ID, didn't pick up - didn't leave a message. To the folks who say they are on the DNC list, if you do business with a bank or insurance company it is legal for their subcontractors to call you - if you have a credit card, same thing. So it's not easy to avoid these calls.

Unidentifed call to my cell phone - not answered for that reason - I suspect the caller got my number from the national Do No Call registery as I had no where NEAR the number of scam calls BEFORE I registered my cell with that registry.

HERE IS A WAY TO HAVE SOME FUN WITH THESE CALLS:

When they call, press the number to speak to an agent, but when they answer, pretend you are mentally challenged and don't really understand what they are wanting to know, or give them some phony information as if you are trying to help them out, but don't know exactly what they are asking you to tell them.

Act all excited that they called to help you out with your warranty or credit card consolidation, then just have a confusing conversation as if you might be hard of hearing or mentally challenged in some way. In the middle of them asking you about your auto warranty registration info, tell them that you are getting ready for a birthday party and ask them if they could help you decide what type of cake to bake and that you can't decide if chocolate or lemon chiffon would be better. Just keep getting off the topic, but act as if you really appreciate their call.

When they tell you that they want to help you out, tell them that it's good that they called, because that is exactly the same business that you are in and you could probably offer them a good deal for THEIR auto warranty.

When they interrupt your family meal and offer you a "deal" on your auto warranty....tell them that you are eating with your family, but ask them for their phone number so that you can call them back at a time that is convenient to you.

Tell them that since they called, you are a recruiter for the Air Force or Marines, etc., (if you really are, of course), or that you are in the life insurance sales business and since they called you, you have something to sell them too and then start asking them some quesitons about their personal info needed for the forms.

Someone else recommended these techniques. It won't keep them from calling you, but make sure to waste their time as much as they waste yours. Usually, they just hang up after a while.

I am on the National Do Not Call Registry. If I ask who they are, or who I am speaking with, they don't want to tell me. They immediately want to know my personal info and tell me they are looking at their computer and need to verify some info. Any questions that I ask them, and they will not answer, including the location of their company or a phone number that I can reach them at.

Each time, I get their number by dialing *69 and then report them to the do not call federal registry for complaints, but I have done this for over a year and they still call me.

I have been harrassed by these people for months now. They call me all hours of the night. I finally talked to someone about my auto warranty. I told them I have a brand new car and that my warranty is not even close to expiring. I also let him know that they were harrassing me and that i am on the DNC list, also that i would be contacting the BBB. I tried to call the number back after he laughed and hung up on me, but it said that it was out of service. This auto company also uses several different numbers from different states with the same outcome.

Interesting. I just got a call from this number and it seems to be the exact same thing as a call I got about 45 minutes ago from 561-649-9574. Fake warranty BS. Both from Florida, but different area codes. Scammers suck.

No message was left. I do not answer calls when I don't recognize the name or number.

These people are obviously very desperate and will call anyone at anytime. They will even call businesses. I work at a Rehab facility and have several extensions, Last week I was at work when my manager answered the phone. It was these people. She was given several prompts to speak with someone about being removed and each prompt was a long wait and redirected her in circles. What I don't understand is how they got through in the first place it's a business.

Oh and about names listed with phone numbers on the web - it seems that you or I can have a number listed publicly on the web, then after it's disconnected someone else - including a person out of the country - might be able to take it and somehow re-route that number to their phone while the original person(s) who had the number are still listed with it on the web. I think that's what most likely may have happened in this case. So speaking in general, if you get a call and see an individual's name with it on the web, don't assume, "that person is probably the one calling me" when it's probably the opposite (a nameless stranger) and I feel bad for any innocent people whose names get dragged into such situations as I believe is the case here.
In general, if you feel harassed you might want to report any harassing calls to the police. Such reports helps build a case when a case is needed.

I googled the number and saw 2 names for it...and there's LOTS of comments about this # at this link -- especially interesting is the one dated March 13th posted by "Dean." As you scroll down the list, there's some blue text ads so you think you're at the bottom but go down more and the posts string on and on.

Talked with Shawn. When I said I was on do not call list he just hung up without a word. This is the 20th time with the same results each time.

I have gotten at least one of these calls every day for weeks. (I'm on the DNC list too.) As soon as I get a live operator, I say, "Take-my-name-and-number-off-your-list-and-do-not-call-here-again!" Sometimes they hang up before I can get it all out but sometimes I can get in a pretty good tirade before they do.

what I don't get is, what is the point? I'm not going to do business with them. Why are they wasting their time? What are they hoping to gain?

This number has been calling and leaving message about my expiring Auto warranty for the past months. I picked it up and pressed 1 to talk to some one this time. The person started with asking what year was my car. I told him I did not want to receive this type of call. He hung up.

Options were to Press 1 to speak about your warranty, Press 2 to close your file.

I pressed 1, was transferred to hold music for about 90 seconds then a person spoke asking for my car year and make. I told him that I am on the DNC and this is a violation of that... They hung up before i could finish.
