Here is one way to fight back. Call their 800 number from a land line (not your cell unless you have unlimited minutes!). Turn on your television, preferably to a sleazy shopping network, set your phone on speaker phone in front of the TV and leave it for as long as their computer will allow you to record a message. Repeat as necessary. I have cost them several hours of long distance charges and will continue until I feel better. FYI, for Automotive Warrantee Solutions of Boca Raton FL, the number is 800-376-5644.
I have also treated them to several hours of Sunday morning religious programming.

When is the final courtesy call going to actually be made? Pissing me off to no end. I am, like most here, on the do not call list. Usually I just let the answering machine pick up and then erase the message...figuring they will get the point eventually, but it is nearly every day these @SS Holes call. Today I pressed one to speak to a customer "service" representative and told them to take me off their call list, I am on the do not call list, and that they are killing me...I would have ranted on a lot longer, but they hung up on me without saying a word. If they call again, I will file a complaint with the FCC and the BBB. This has got to stop.

They called and called and called, we are sick of them. Never leave a message, and we are on the no call list. I guess I am writing another message to the FCC. We have a very sick relative with us and the last thing we need is to have some morons with nothing better to do tying up the phone.

These people need to seriously give it a break. My car is a 1993 without hope of having any kind of warranty on it. I get calls from them on my landline, and the cell phones of various members of my family. Why doesn't the Federal No-Call list apply to these f-ers? I'm sick of it!

you answer the phone and no one answers

I wonder if filing a complaint with the BBB would do any good. ??? I filed one against a company (that I've never done business with) that was calling here repeatedly and I haven't heard from that company since. If this "warranty company" truly is a scam, maybe the BBB can help shut them down.
 Feb 27th, 2009
Multiple calls on two phones. On last call, credit card interest rate increase alluded to by caller. Rude. SCAM. Telephone number on caller ID is bogus. These people are also calling I believe using telephone numbers: 305-222-1966, 407-251-6572, 772-336-8160, which are all bogus, disconnected numbers. I have contacted the Florida Attorney General in writing. I am hopeful that his office will take action to investigate these bums. If enough people write and call the AG's office, it may encourage the state to go after these scam artists.

These bastards, Automotive Warranty Solutions, are making illegal calls. I got them to tell me their phone number: 800-376-5644. The man on the phone said his name was Billy and when I asked his last name, he asked me mine. I simply asked him his last name again and he hung up on me. I called the 800 number and got the company name, and the address: 6501 Congress Avenue, Suite 140, Boca Raton, Florida. I hope these guys get into trouble.

Re: Calls from (407) 251-6572
I too have been getting calls from this number, (latest was 2/25/09 at about 4:30 PM) and, like many others, the calls come to my cell phone which is on the Do-Nothing, Do-Not-Call Registry (DNC Reg). (I suspect telemarketers are now using that registry as a SOURCE of numbers TO call!) I have a suggestion!

When I Googled this number I got 494 "Hits" - (probably would get a lot MORE if I used "Dogpile") I suspect each is a web site like this where a number of people are complaining about this caller. Imagine the results if each one of those complaints were sent to the Whitehouse! Now, multiply that for ALL the violations of the DNC Reg.

Per the Constitution of the United States of America, "We the People" have a right to petition the government for "redress of grievances" and the Obama Administration has pledged to listen to us! Here I excerpt the gist of a message from The Presidential Correspondence Team: "On behalf of President Obama, - - -we're committed to listening to and responding to you. - - - In order to better handle the millions of electronic messages we're receiving and respond more quickly, we've implemented a new contact form on our website: - - - http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ - - - Please note that this web form has replaced comments@whitehouse.gov."

I suggest each of us create a form letter where all we do is insert the offending phone number in the right place, and then copy and paste the letter to the above website EVERY time we get an unauthorized call on our phones. In addition, for those of us crazy enough to actually ANSWER such calls (if the number is not in my cell phone directory, I don't answer) - I suggest giving the phone number of your local police dispatcher as the number to reach you.

I have spoken in person with Senator Bennett and he was unaware that the Registry is a failure - I suspect the majority of our hairy legged leaders are likewise ignorant. The FTC brags that it's an outstanding success, but clearly, they lie to preserve their gravy-train laid-back no-pressure jobs.

I have written Senator Bennett on his web site as well as talked to him in person, and I have filed numerous complaints with the FTC and the Do-Not-Call Registry. All to no avail. The calls keep coming.

I've lost the link and forgotten the numbers, but the Do-Not-Call Registry, in spite of the claim by the FTC to the contrary, has an abysmal record of prosecutions - the FTC web site likes to point out one or two dramatic cases, but by and large they do little to put an end to this criminal activity. It's been awhile, but last I heard the Registry has prosecuted less than a dozen callers a YEAR. Seems they concentrate on catching "the big ones" and ignore the myriad of little guys. I think if they'd go after EVERYBODY as fast as the complaints come in that they'd collect a LOT of "little" fines to more than make up for the rare "big catch" - And the word would get out, "Don't DO THAT!"

We got a voice mail message from these characters yesterday. The only thing displayed on our phone was 'out of area.' I googled the phrase "This is your final courtesy call before your vehicle was reclassified" and found this site. Just hearing the way 'vehicle' was pronounced (not to mention the use of the word 'vehicle') kind of gives away their game. Shame on them for trying to frighten vulnerable people into giving them some kind of resellable information or money. No use paying much attention to the phone number displayed. That is something any phone system administrator can configure on a privately-owned telephone switch, and it does not need to match the actual originating number. However, there may be enough information in the databases of the many phone central offices that a call passed through, although it is 'volatile' (so many records are generated that they tend to be overwritten if you don't grab the information shortly after the call.) I would like to see a special toll-free number set up to which anyone could opt to have 'unidentified' phone calls forwarded to during times we were experiencing a 'scam storm.' Calls forwarded to this number would be automatically traced. A report would be sent to us showing what calls we had missed and the identity of the actual caller so we could call back anyone whose call was really legitimate. We would catch these guys much faster!
 Feb 24th, 2009
When I hear the recording, I hit 1 and wait for the scumbag to pick up. When they do I quickly tell them "F...You this is a scam" and hang up. I don't think it will really help until they get 1000's of such profane remarks. Unfortunaly I know it's just some guy trying to make a living on the phone, but they are part of the problem. Too Bad! Take your frustration out on them. It's fun! They may be annoying you, but who are they ripping off. Your Mom, Brother, Neighbor...They deserve much worse.

 Feb 17th, 2009
Repeated calls from these scam artists. Caller ID number is faked. These same people have also called I believe using other fake numbers: 062-248-9204 and 407-251-6572. Where are all the government agency people in Washington and Florida responsible for preventing this kind of harassment? I know; they are all out collecting political contributions or writing legislation to increase our taxes.
 Feb 17th, 2009

It's not the DNC law that needs to be fixed. It's another bill that needs to become law. The Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009. The Senate version is now in committee (S. 30). The House version for this session has not been introduced. This tried to pass Congress twice; both versions passed the House but were never voted on by the Senate. Call your representative and Senator today and urge them to make things right for the American consumer and for our safety.

Refused to answer as I do when a call comes in as Unknown Caller. If it's important they will leave a message. I have better things to do than to waste my time answering stupid unknown callers. It's a shame that these jokers have nothing better to do than to harrass people.
 Feb 12th, 2009
these gutless wonder scumbags don't leave a message, although from what others are saying they are the same rectums that are calling with the stupid "last chance" scams. Our caller ID says the scum bag called at 11:24 this morning by 3:42 this afternoon the number was no longer in service or had been disconnected. Congress you wrote this law fix it NOW. As Will Rogers said: "When I tell a joke it's a joke, when Congress tells a joke it's the law." Well Congress needs to stop telling jokes and put some teeth into this law (DNC). We need to cover close to TWO TRILLION dollars in stimulus packages. If this law were enforced we could probably raise a good part of that in 7 days!

Not sure if it's deliberate or just bad interface with my answering machine but I got: "...several attempts to reach you. This is your final...." And that's it. Rather intimidating, but beautifully vague. :P This is also the second time they've called this year according to my caller-id log.
The FBI needs to set up more fake phone numbers and start tracing these people. (IMHO)

These people are violation just about every law on the books against telemarketing, and we need to identify them. They block their caller id and their name, which is also a violation of federal law. The phone number display is probably fake. If anyone can help pin them down, post the info here please.

I called the number back and it said "not working number"
 Jan 06th, 2009
Had a call 10 minutes earlier from 407-251-6572, the car warranty scam artists. Then these clowns about my credit cards. All the same telemarketing turds working out of the same warehouse. Call either number back and it will tell you it's disconnected. Don't bother complaining to the Fla. AG's office or their consumer affairs division, they won't do anything and will ignore your complaint, they've ignored all the ones I've sent them. As for the Federal Do Not Call List....ROFLMAO.

This is your last courtesy call - was left on answering machine - female voice was then cut off. sound like a recording. number came in as 407-251-6572. Have had approximately 12 calls in last year from this number
 Jan 05th, 2009
Interesting call... Lady (voice recording) on the other end, "We've tried several times to reach you about your warranty and have been unable to reach you. Please press 1 to speak to a representative or, press 2 to close your warranty immediately." I hung up. First, based on my phone's caller id back to 12/9/08, it was the first time they've called. Second, if it were a reputable firm, they would have identified themselves - Company and it would have been a "real" person. To me, it's a bogus call.
 Jan 02nd, 2009
Got a recorded message saying our car warranty was running out and if we were interested in extending it to press '1' if we were not interested press '2'. Sense we are on the No Call List, I hit '1' to tell them to take us off their list. An operator answered. She had our names and address. Would not identify the business. I asked what car this was for and she said they were having computer problems and she could not give me that info, but if I gave here the VIN # she could help us. I told her that unless she could give me info about her company and the about the car and the warranty I would not talk with her and to not call back and hung up. I hit the Caller ID button and called their number (407) 251-6572. A recording said it was a disconnected number.
 Dec 30th, 2008
Received call from 407-251-6572, no caller ID. I answered call with "hello", no one answered immediately, so I hung up. I don't sit and wait for people to respond... they have 2 seconds to respond -- then, CLICK! adios!
 Dec 30th, 2008

 Dec 29th, 2008
These people have called numerous times from numerous phone numbers. They don't care about the DNC list at all. They always have a recorded message about today being the very last day you can extend your car warranty, etc. etc. and to press #1 if you are interested. I used to just hang up, but now I press #1 and play head games with the poor saps they have working for them. Most of them seem too dumb to even know they were violating the law. Tell them they are and that they will be fined, go to jail and never be able to get another job if they persist in their activities. I don't know if any of these people have quit, but I hope to cost them some employees.

I dialed "1" as directed to talk to an agent and only once did I get an answer. I told this guy in language I can't repeat here to stop calling me but it hasn't helped.

I sometimes get called several times during the day or week, but usually it is once a week wanting to extend my auto warranty. When I press a prompt to speak to someone they hang up on me when I ask them to put me on a 'do not call' list. So annoying!
 Dec 12th, 2008
Called at 4:33 PM 12/11/08. Left no msg. Caller ID'd as "Florida."

Googled it and found this and many other reports/complaints about the "automobile warranty about to expire" scam attempts.

I've gotten at least 25 calls from at least 13 different numbers, almost all of which caller ID as "Florida" since December of 2007.

Here are the numbers (in order of use):

1 305-362-5314
1 305-408-6643
1 850-230-8870
1 850-626-1361
1 407 251-6572

A new number shows up about each month. They're "spoofing" caller ID, and and the phone numbers. They're also obviously changing to "new" numbers to avoid detection & countermeasures. Such as "Blocked Caller" lists.

I'm sharing this info with my Maryland Attorney General's Office and a major local TV outlet (WBAL-TV 11, Baltimore). As a result of a WBAL-TV investigative report on these "Florida" phone scammers, the OAG has promised an aggressive investigation to find and prosecute them ... and - to coordinate efforts with other states's AG's.

The same people called again, this time with no caller ID. This time I waited 11 minutes to speak with an operator who asked what year and model my car was. I said that I didn't have time to talk, but I was interested in the offer, so I'd like their contact number. She immediately hung up. So if you get a call like this, I would recommend giving them some information (preferably fabricated) to keep them on the line.

I was trying to get some information on the company so I could report them. This is the second time in two days that they called.
