I have been receiving calls at both my home and cell numbers (both are on the Do Not Call list) from this number for several months. Doing some research and have found that sometimes the scam is for rug steamers/carpet cleaners and the other is a scam mortgage restructure claiming affiliation with the VA.

One of the best ways (besides reporting them to the FTC -- make sure you do that) to get back at them is to connect with your local TV news

I received a call from this number w/o Caller ID name just phone number. They didn't say the name of the business and claimed they are not calling about refi but re-structuring of mortgage! It said press 1 to talk to live customer service and 2 to be removed. I pressed 1 to find out who it is but I was disconnect. I re-dialed and I got "This is a none-working number" message!

I have gotten two calls from this company. The first time it rolled over to the answering machine and they left no message. This time I picked up and a recorded message stated, "I have good news for those with a VA mortgage". I hung up and put the number.

This is Deluxe Carpet Cleaning, based in Texas, with locations throughout the US. The caller ID number is (404) 335-7149, but the REAL phone number for them is 214-382-7533. Mr. John Stickley, owner of the Baltimore location - 410-741-6618 or deluxejohn@verizon.net; other locations are still unknown, because the rep refuses to give the information out.

Their unsubscribe option is a fake. I encourage you to write down dates and times of the received phone calls, and file a complaint with the FCC and BBB.

Scmming rat bastards. The Texas Attny. Gen. office said they can do nothing because it is a hi-jacked number. They say even tho I am on both no-call lists they can do nothing to stop these people. They call me at least 5 times a week.

Got two calls today. You have to realize that caller ids mean nothing. They are legit for residential phones but if you have a PBX and a T1 (they do), you can make up your own caller id. So forget calling the number back; that's just a dead end.

There are two things you should do:

1. Report it to the National do not call list. The caller id is still meaningless but the Feds can track down the call and they will pursue (I know, they followed up with me.)

2. If you have the time, take the call, schedule an appointment. See who calls back for more details. The more info you collect, the more it will help the Feds. Worst case, give them false information and including name and address so they waste their time.

The name of the game for these people is time. The more you can waste their time, the less productive they will be which translates into less money. It is a boiler room (probably in India) so the rep is getting paid by the hour (with maybe a SPIF for setting up an appointment.) They get paid virtually nothing so wasting their time doesn't buy us much. But having a real live American carpet cleaner driving around for wild goose chases will cause the cleaning company to drop the lead generation provider and that will put them out of business.

Thought you should know.

Received call from Customer Service - recording, offering carpet cleaning service. I selected #1 to "schedule" service since selection of other numbers in the past have been unsuccessful in getting rid of these people. When rep came on the line, I told her "yes, I would be scheduling carpet service EVERY time they call me in the future IF THEY DON'T REMOVE ME FROM THEIR CALL LIST"! Yes, we're on the Do Not Call list and I plan to report them - AGAIN. However, if they call again, I will schedule the carpet cleaning service. I just won't accept their service when they come to my door - maybe I'll give them an address of the vacant lot down the street!

I've gotten calls from these people from 404-335-7149 on March 4th, 2009 @ 12:10 PM MST, March 30th, 2009 @ 4:15 PM PST, & Apr 10th, 2009 @ 1:40 PM PST.

They always call in regards to a Carpet Cleaning Service. I don't know how they got my number but I'm on the DNC and they should not be calling me.

Every time I try to hit the option to have them remove my phone number it's "8" btw not "9" as the recording says, nothing happens and I just get another call. And if I try to speak to a rep to get info from them on who they are why they are calling me they just h/u on me.

"Carpet Cleaning Company" called again. This is getting a little tiring... you cannot get them to remove your number from their system. They say "push 9 to be removed" but that is an invalid entry. They call every week, though not every day. I added them to my call block list (*60) this time. Let's see if that works. Yes, my number is on the Texas Do Not Call list AND the National Do Not Call list. Bunch of blanking wankers!

We keep getting calls from this number even though we are on the do not call list for Pennsylvania. They say they will be in the neighborhood cleaning carpets. The options are: (1) get carpets cleaned (2) have someone come around (3) push 3 if you do not wish to receive these calls anymore. We push 3 on the phone and get a message saying we've made an invalid choice! And...the calls continue to come! Very aggravating!!!

My number is on the DO NOT CALL list. I had previously gotten calls from this telemarketer Mike's Carpet Cleaning from a 978 area code and after being hung up on when asking to be taken off their list, I called back and pushed the button to be taken off their call list. Now I just received a call from this company again with this number 404 showing on my caller ID. I pressed 1 and when the person came on and asked if I wanted to make an appointment, I asked who is this company and where are they located? She hung up. Calling that number back, I got the same recording that if you received this call in error and want to be taken off the list, push 1. This is obviously a scam and nobody from the FCC can find these people. Perhaps we should all make appointments and when the guy shows up, we get the license number of the van and report to the police. Better yet, have the police be there when the guy shows up. Also video it.

Another carpet cleaning scam ?? What is funny about this is we have hardwood floors and do not need their service, but if they are that nasty over the phone as i have seen in some of the other blogs here, they might have a much bigger problem in the future if the FCC catches up with them. I will do my part and report them to the do not call registry.

Same issues as others have mentioned; hung up on several times; tried multiple times to be taken off the list (through their automated message). When asking in person to caller to be taken off list, they hang up. When "pretending" to be interested in their service, and asking where they were located, they indicated they had offices in northern and southern CA; I said that was a problem, because I am in PA; they then said they had an office in West Chester, and when I asked for a local number and address, they hung up on me. FINALLY FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FCC 04-02-09. GO TO FCC.GOV AND DO THE SAME.

Recorded message that said "This is Mike from the carpet cleaning company. If you would to schedule a cleaning, press 1." A woman came on the line and when I asked what company this was she said it was "Deluxe Carpet Care". When I asked if they had a local presence, she indicated that they did and, based on zip code, gave me a local number 408-449-4425. It turns out that number is not in service. When I tried to call back the 404-335-7149 number, I received a short message that said “Thank you for calling. If you have received a call in error, please press 1 and your number will be removed from our customer list. Thank you very much."

This carpet cleaning service calls repeatedly. I am on the National AND the State of Florida Do Not Call List. Option #3 to remove your name from their call list says that it is an invalid option. If I speak to a person, the simply hang up on me. *69 gives the number of 404-335-7149 as the caller. It only gives you the option of removing your number from their call list. If they persist in calling, then I will start scheduling appointments and reject their knocks at the door when they arrive. If everyone would schedule appointments and break them, maybe they would stop harassing.
