Daniel Johnson also called me, this is a complete scam. DO NOT give anyone from this number, 347-332-1135 any personal information. Funny thing though, he said he was calling from Los Angeles, Cali and the (347) area code in NYC. NICE TRY!!

Same thing as the others: my wife gets a call saying Russell called and we have a virus and he can fix it. He wants her to turn on the computer and go to a trojan filled site. If you get this call run as fast as you can.

Total scam - what tipped me off is that he asked if I was able to sit in front of my computer and when I clicked on Computer, it was not opening and he kept repeating himself.
I asked how he got my number and was told when I bought my computer (over 2 years ago that I registered with MS. I asked for their corporate office number which is a cell phone exchange, 347 - then I asked to speak with a manager and he told me I was wrong about being on the do not call list as a windows customer. He also said I will keep on getting these calls. Told him that I will report the number and will not give out my info.

just received a phone call from a indian representative with lack of language. they transfered me to a representative who than identified himself as maximus lucas. he states that microsoft never contacts anyone. i asked if this was a third party company and he diverted the question by saying this is for microsoft. i was cautious with the responses i gave as i wouldn't know if they are recording and how it can be used against me. i have no idea why this company would have my home telephone number or were they clear in distinguishing who they were. they claimed that my computer send out various error messages and if i had my computer infront of me to fix the problem. i played along as i wanted to know who they were and how they obtained my number. by the way. i own a apple computer.
