Calls and never leaves a message. Account Services. Annoying!

I also found a recording of one of these call at http://sekimura.vox.com/library/video/6a00b8ea067b20dece00d414285d853c7f.html.
I received one of these calls earlier this evening, but I don't have caller ID. I found the "whocalled" webiste and the recording by searching for the call's characteristics on line.
Woman called, going to improve my rate. I used so much profanity she said she would pray for me and then she humg up.
gm in michigan Aug 05th, 2007
They left their message (female voice) on my phone machine about lowering rates, but did not mention any credit card company name; so it seemed suspicious.
I recived the call that say's answer ten question's and recive a cruise for two to Nassau. Then wait 48 to 72 hours and someone will call me after i visted the web site. Well I got this site instead .Thing to do is SLAM PHONE DOWN WHEN TEHY CALL BACK.
This number on the reverse directory is South Central Bell, but is a a disconnected number when called back. Caller ID shows Eau Gallie Fl and the #.
Left no message.
July 30, 2007
Eau Gallie, Fl
Same tripe here.. "1" for the wonderful opportunity and "2" to get off their list. It's vaguely threatening with an opportunity to "Lower my rates". Very similar to the one I got a few weeks ago.
I filed a complaint with the BBB in Florida. Maybe they will stop calling me.
Same Heather, different number.
Type: Land Line
Provider: Embarq Florida
Location: Silver Spring Shores, FL
Gotten two calls from them. First call the ID said "homeland" and the second the ID said "unknown". I don't answer the phone because I know no one will be on the other end.
I think we've been getting calls from the same spammer/scammers on different numbers:
("MHMH-Condo") and 321-777-5032
("Eau Gallie FL")
The number was 321-777-5032 and the name on my caller ID said: Mann, Kathy. I didn't pick it up, because I don't know anyone with this name.
A message was left on my answering machine.
I received the same message a month ago, but from a different phone number. I found out this is a scam. The message claims they can lower the interest rate on your credit cards, or that your car warranty is about to expire, and offer to extend it. Don't answer these calls. It is just a scam to try to get your credit card number!
I am in MN and got the same call yesterday. Message said payment not due on cc, but last chance to lower interest rates. Same as others have posted.
They were trying to sell Auto insurance on a car that was junked years ago!
Call from Palm Bay FL 321-777-5032. Got the same recording from the 'lovely' Heather-from-account-services that Mike got on 07-24. I'm on Natl No Call, so I reported the number.
Called me today at 3:45 EDT. I am listed on DO NOT CALL REGISTRY, so I didn't answer it. Googled the numer and found this page. This is as bad as spam and fishing email. :-/
Got a call today from these losers. I recorded the phone call and reported them to the FCC. I am on the DO NOT CALL list and these jerks obviously do not reference it before making their calls.
receiving calls from this number, they do not leave a message and I will not answer an unknown number.
I find that using a very loud whistle (hangs by my phone) works very well. Just imagining their discomfort and possible hearing loss gives me warm fuzzies.
We are also on the do not call list.

No message was left from them on our answering machine
These fellas keep calling us over and over again and as soon as you ask for the name of they company they hang up.
Bobby Flay Jul 29th, 2007
Same exact thing as Jim on 7-25-07. Don't fear. I got a trace as it is what I do for a living. My caller should expect a visit very soon!"
That is great news John! :) Please let us all know what happens when they are finally caught if you can. It would be extra sweet if it could be a swat type of operation...lol. Something that would wipe that smug look off their faces for a bit.
I have been hoping for a call- back from these people, but no takers as of yet. I am REALLY going to play it up good when and IF they DO call back. I want to try and scam the scammers....lol.
These idiots called me at almost 10PM! I have sent their number into https://www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplainCheck.aspx
Same exact thing as Jim on 7-25-07. Don't fear. I got a trace as it is what I do for a living. My caller should expect a visit very soon!
Please cease all phone and selications as we are on the DO NOT CALL Listing
Robert Terry Jul 28th, 2007
Called on 7/26 and again the following afternoon.
I didn't answer the first time but there was no one on the line when I did the 2nd time.
Heard about these calls from this site! It's the most reported phone number in the last 7 days. And now they've found my phone number. Oh. Goodie.
West Coaster Jul 28th, 2007
Received call from "Heather" from account services regarding reducing my credit card rates. Reported to Do not call list
From Account Services--asked where they were located--they hung up---Could be an Identity theft ring.
I received the same call at 7:00 PM PST. I asked the woman to identify the company she represented and give me a call-back number. I was told "we represent all credit card companies."
I again asked for the name of her company and a call-back number. She stated, "we don't accept inbound calls." I then ended the conversation and called my local FBI and Sheriff's Office to report what I see as a probable phishing scam to obtain personal information for the purpose of IDENTITY THEFT.

These callers didn’t come up with this scam on their own. No, they aren’t that original and forward-thinking. This whole scam is just a version of the “social hack”. “The biggest threat to a person’s financial well-being is not a computer virus, an unpatched hole in a key program or a badly installed firewall.
In fact, the biggest threat could be themselves.”
(paraphrased from: How to Hack People
There once was a man (and there still is) named
Kevin Mitnick. In his days on the wrong side of the law, Mitnick used so-called social-engineering techniques to fool people into handing over sensitive information. Rather than overt technical hacks, he was able to convince employees to hand over information that enabled him to hack systems, while redirecting telephone signals to avoid detection by the authorities. (quoted from a website which will not be named because it looks kind of scary and I don’t want to direct people there…lol) These losers are doing the same thing, except they are targeting the consumer instead of the large companies. They would do well to notice that Mitnick served somewhere along the lines of six years for various “social-engineering hacks”. Eight months of those years was served in solitary confinement. I post this in the hopes some of these people guilty of working for this company are reading…Stop the Madness and put down that shovel! I hope they are stopped and SOON!
I live in a small town and I got one call at home and the very next day at my business. When I ask how they got my number or to be removed from the list...they hang up and then I call back and get the disconnected message.WEIRD!
reduce your rates....and then "are you over 2000 in credit debt"
I just filed a complaint w/the Better Business Bureau. They were already in their system. Here's the company name and address:
Account Services, Inc.
4910 Creekside Dr Ste K
Clearwater FL 33760-4034
They use different call-out numbers every day to avoid being caught. Do your civic duty and stick it to these assholes by filing a complaint of your own. You can do this at:
i called the number back and all i got was "this number is no longer in service or has been disconncted. this is the 3rd. time i have gotten a phone call from them. everytime i try to call the number back i get the same message.
Credit card rates .... hung up on me. Scam # 937 from the boiler rooms of Florida
Most of these callers seem very nice and helpful don't they? In order for their "social hack" to work, they must put on a professional, business-like air. Alot of them just can't seem to pull it off, but I assure you some of them are really good at it as well. Don't trust anyone you don't know with ANY of your personal info, even if you feel like you can trust them. YOU CAN'T! There have been tales of anything from $1000 service fees to shopping trips to high dollar retailers using your card numbers just as soon as your info is handed to these con men and women. Always check with your credit card company about having your interest rate reduced...and good luck with that, because they are really scamming us too in their own way...lol. They like our high interest rates exactly where they are. They (credit card companies) are really causing scams like this to thrive. If only they would stop and think about it. I mean who WOULDN'T want a 6.9 percent fixed rate on their card.
Call came in 12:55. We are on do not call list so I did not answer.
DID NOT PICK UP BECAUSE OF NOT RECOGNIZING THE PHONE NUMBER
Definitely scammers. Everyone contact your local phone company and find out how to do a call trace. All phone companies have this, but it may be done differently. For Cox users, you dial *57 to trace the last call, then call the police or FBI. They will contact Cox and trace it back to the scammers.
Look in news.admin.net-abuse.email in Google Groups (groups.google.com) as there have been several discussions about this one and some similar phone numbers.
But this is the first one from in/near the 'Space Coast', the rest are usually 305/786/954/754 numbers.
They come from a company known as 'Card Services' and it is an already known scam outfit. They are on the radar at the FTC. Best thing to do is get the name of the company and if you get any phone number, remember it is not necessarily this one, you can give them that too.
They have several judgements against them at the FTC, etc., for doing exactly this. And there are victims who took the bait too.
Recording of Jonathon with Consumeer Services regarding eligability of reducing credit card rate. Says to consider this my final notice, but this is third or fourth call with my "final notice."
Received this call on the 24th, I let me answering machine pick up, of course no one left a message. I figured it was another scammer calling me. I keep getting alot of different phone numbers calling, especially showing up as Florida. I research all of them on here and everyone else is getting the same calls!! I'm sick of this!
Prerecorded message about lowering the credit card interest rate.
A recording from a woman from account services about reducing my credit card rates. Caller ID said PALM BAY FL.
This is a scam but you can can do something about it. File a complaint with the FCC even if your number is not on the do not call list. Here is the link. http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html
Same as others, Kathy Mann on the caller ID but there was no one there.
another hang up...grrrrrr
Dialed back the number and it says "I'm sorry the number you dialed is no longer in service". Strange,as they just called. After reading your messages, we all should file with the FCC. These scams have to stop.
i received a call from this number. it was a recorded message reguarding an extended warranty for a vehicle that i do not have. it said to push "one for a representative or nine to be taken off their list". i did neither, and it disconnected.
a recording (male's voice) said he was calling about my credit card (did not indicate which one). That there was not a problem but that steps could be taken to reduce the interest. I hung up.
Same lowering interest rate message.
Called when we were out. No message
I had one of these calls today .... The girl was speaking very fast and said that there was no problem with my credit card yet, but (i hung up at this point). I never provided any info and she did not ask my name. this is almost certainly a scam of some sort.
Same message as the others about lowering my interest rate, so I waited and hit one to be connected to a representative so I could ask to be placed on the "do not call list." The guy (Matt) who answered said something ridiculous about this automated caller would not have called me if I were not qualified.... and he hung up. Same thing.. disconnnected when I called back.
This call came in while I was visiting my mother. Thank God she did not press any numbes and hung up. Mom also stated this is the third time she had received the same call.
Wanda Kemp Jul 26th, 2007
I called the number back from my cell phone and all I got was a recording saying it was disconnected. If it's about reducing credit card rates...I don't have a credit card and neither does anyone here.
More SCAMMERS. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO. HANG UP ON THEM !!
got the call twice today. I tried calling it back guess what the # has been disconnected. We are on the do not call list, this does not seem to help. We do not have credit cards.
Call from Eau Gallie, FL. re: credit cards. I immediately hung up and submitted complaint to Do Not Call Registry.
Got the number by *69, reported it to my phone company (Embarq), and at their suggestion Federal Trade Commission . I'm guessing they're trolling for credit-card numbers, using a fairly random autodialer.
Number on my caller ID, no message left.
I didn't even answer, but I'm on the NO CALL registry too....off to make a complaint. ARGH!
Got a call a few minutes ago from this number. My wife talked to the woman (no name given). We asked from whom they got our number (we are on the do not call State and Fed lists) and the woman claimed it was Mastercard and gave us a number to call, which ended up being the number to AmEx customer service!
Message was garbled. Something about credit cards. Did not reply to their request of press 1 or press 2. Kept them on line until I was disconnected. Called number back and it was disconnected. Illegal scam I believe. If anyone gets their name, report to the FCC
Just got a call--recorded, but I pressed 1 to continue and talk to a rep. Lewis answered and I asked who the company was. He said "Account Services". I asked the name of the company and he rudely shouted "Account Services! Didn't you hear me the first time?" I asked if he was truly that rude and he said "Yes, I am" and hung up. When I tried to call the number back, it, too, was disconnected.
just got a call from the same number shown as unknow name, i let the machine pick up and they hung up. did research on the number listed and wow got this site. got the call at 1:30pm
Similar story to others ... Answered the phone only to hear a message that indicated that it was urgent that they hear from me about lowering my credit card interest rate ... press 1 to speak to a representative; press 2 if I did not want to be called again. I pressed one. When the female representative said "Did you press 1 to lower your interest rates." I replied, "I pressed one to learn more about specifically which credit card you are referring to." The line went dead. Hmmm ...
A man from this number called today for my husband and said his name was Mike Pass (I think). I told him my husband was not home to call later. Now I find out he is a spammer.I will hang up next time.
Got the same call as other folks: recorded message said it was Heather calling from my credit card company (didn't name the company), and to press one to lower my interest rate. Knew it was a scam since they didn't say the name of the company. Hung up and checked this website.
The first time they called I got the recording stating options "press 1 for" etc. I hung up.
I have received at least 4 calls from this number. I saved it as "DNA""#" in my address book to mark it as Do Not Answer. I have a few others!
Looks like the info as everyone else. There is only one place they could have gotten my number from, and that is an Internet job board. Anyone else out there get this call and have their resume online???
another BS call do not call does NOT work at all, same old
Same as all comments above. I'm in Los Angeles. Caller ID - FLORIDA CALL.
You can submit an online complaint to the FL Dept of Consumer Services. I did. 800helpfla.com/ccform.html
The recorded message claimed to be from my credit card company with a last call offer to lower my rates. Directed to press 1 to speak to a customer service rep. A young lady came on and cheerfully asked if I would like to lower my rate to 6.75 per cent. I said yes, but what card?. She may have put me on hold, but never answered, and the line went silent, then was disconnected after about two minutes. Maybe they were collecting my data for a return telemarketing call?
Answered my phone after seeing this number and no one is on the line so I call it back, get message that the number is disconnected even though they had just called me. Don't know why but out of all the random calls I've gotten this is the only time I had a weird feeling and decided to check the internet about it.
My caller ID says "Kathy Mann." I am also on the do not call registry. Kathy Mann is about to get blocked.
thanks for your comments, they have started calling me today....
Another irritating phone call. Didn't answer and they left no message. Called back and low and behold the number has been disconnected. Funny, I am on the Do Not Call list, apparently that is a joke too!
Recording offering credit card rate reduction. I followed through and spoke with woman who knew my name. When I asked name of her company, she said it, when asked to repeat, she hung up.
Got the same type call as Mike at 8:30 PM. I'm on National Do Not Call Registry. File a complaint.
The white pages has this to say on a reverse phone look-up of:
Type: Land Line
Provider: South Central Bell
Location: Eau Gallie, FL
Due to number portability, some numbers have been transferred to a new service provider.
I wonder if a complaint to South Central Bell would help in any way?
Caller ID says it's Kathy Mann, Left a message for Final offer for lower interest rates on CCard I never responded
I called the number back and got a "I'm sorry, the number you dialed has been disconnected or is no longer in service"!!!!
After a delay, a recorded message initially told me that they were calling from my credit card company (did not say which) and reassured me there was not a problem but warned me to consider this my final warning to lower my interest rates. Gave me the option to press "1" for an operator. I did and got a busy signal.
This showed up as Eau Gallie FL today. No message left.
Caller ID beeped and popped up this number, but I was with another important call so I ignored it. Researched the number and found this site with the info.
Yup - i get the same thing - I've tried twice to talk to the operator to get my number off the list and both times they hang up on me. I'll try to get more info on the company next time.
EAU Gallie, Fl is what caller ID said.
same junk as others
Got it today at 10:34. No message left. I have a zapper program and I've zapped it.
I have started a complaint against these calls with the FCC, I am on the do not call list and these calls are ILLEGAL. I urge everyone who gets them to also file a complaint, the more complaints, the more these calls will get attention and stop...
I received a call from this number today concerning lowering my credit interest rate. I felt it was a scam, so I didn't cooperate with the man. He started out insistant and ended up frustrated. He even laughed at me because I wouldn't give him my card number. I am on the do-not-call list. What can be done about this? I get calls several times a day with nobody on the other end.
This is really annoying and could lead to some type of identity theft. I don't know what they really want to do, but they claim they are calling on behalf of your credit card company. After you give them the toll free number on the back of the card, they will know what kind of card it is and then will proceed to give you the first four digits of your card as verification to lure you in. Don't fall for it. Make them give you the LAST four digits of your card. They can't because they don't know them until you supply the information. Anyone that is actually affiliated with your credit card company will already have that information in front of them. Be careful out there. :)
same old message about lowering interest rate.
This showed up as Eau Gallie FL today. No message left.
