I think they are getting our phone numbers from the no call list because as soon as I got on it I started receving these calls..
Called at 4:33 PM 12/11/08. Left no msg. Caller ID'd as "Florida."
Googled it and found this and many other reports/complaints about the "automobile warranty about to expire" scam attempts.
I've gotten at least 25 calls from at least 13 different numbers, almost all of which caller ID as "Florida" since December of 2007.
Here are the numbers (in order of use):
1 407 251-6572
A new number shows up about each month. They're "spoofing" caller ID, and and the phone numbers. They're also obviously changing to "new" numbers to avoid detection & countermeasures. Such as "Blocked Caller" lists.
I'm sharing this info with my Maryland Attorney General's Office and a major local TV outlet (WBAL-TV 11, Baltimore). As a result of a WBAL-TV investigative report on these "Florida" phone scammers, the OAG has promised an aggressive investigation to find and prosecute them ... and - to coordinate efforts with other states's AG's.
So - FILE FORMAL COMPLAINTS WITH YOUR RESPECTIVE STATES'S ATTORNEYS GENERAL OFFICES and share this information with them.

same thing, scam artists saying nothing wrong with my credit accounts but they wanted to talk to me. Called right back as previous posters have and was told number was disconnected. Sounds like some group of thieves.
We are on the DNC list. They need to STOP.
These people keep calling no matter how many times you ask them to stop. Nobody wants telemarketing calls, so why not ban them entirely? Those career politicians are all bought and paid for by the Direct Marketing Association, that's why. The DO NOT CALL registry is a total fraud upon the public; it was never intended to be enforced. The Republicans & Democrats are just mocking your intelligence by pretending they care about your property rights. If you voted for them, you deserve these harassing phone calls.

Sorry, folks, but these are the facts. In connection with other junk phone calls like these, I contacted Equifax to find out about my credit rating. Equifax sent my complaint to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). i received back a packet of information from the FTC. After actually reading all of it, I discovered that there is actually only one way to stop these creeps, and the FTC has it right there in one of their pamphlets: You must find out the name and address of the company, and write them a letter. Yes, waste more of your time, but you must WRITE A LETTER to them to tell them to take you off of their list. In other words, no one is in control of these tele-harassment companies. As you no doubt have discovered in other listings for these creeps, once your number is on the "sucker" list, you are on there forever. Do Not Call at any level, federal or state, will not stop them. Having a cell phone will not stop them. God help us if they break into the internet wholesale.
Message stating you can lower your interest rate on your credit card, does not tell you the card company, I pressed 1 for "an operator" and asked what company was calling and to stop calling, then the "person" started yelling at me!!!
Did not answer, no message left. Already registered with the DNCL.
warranty recording. I pressed 1, Olivia answered after twenty rings. When I told her i had a 1965 Buick she hung up. At least i wasted her time.
Received call on 8/27/08 @ 11:28 am - did not answer unrecognized #, no message left. My number has been listed on do not call for years.
Caller ID said Pensacola, FL. Left no message. I am on the Do Not Call Registry and filed a complaint against this #. Coincidentally, this is the second # to call me from Florida today. The first # that called me was 321-504-7429
caller id: Cocoa, FL...and also left no message. I don't know anyone in Florida and I don't answer any call I don't know.
Caller ID showed Cocoa, FL. Left no message. I am on the Do Not Call Registry and reported this #.
These pests are obviously scammers and incredibly RUDE ones. I receive calls on a daily basis from them and if I ask them any questions they hang up. How do I put a stop to this annoyance? I am already on the do not call list.
I waited to talk to someone and immediately asked who they were working for and got hung up on. Called the number back and it was disconnected.
I also called the number back and was informed that it was disconnected.
I've been getting these calls for months. Today, I finally had it. I made up a name, gave the idiot on the line a recent make and model of the vehicle, then when she asked for the CC number, I told her I left my wallet at work and told her to call me there in an hour. I gave her the number to my state's Attorney General office. The number that was on my caller ID was: 321-504-7429
Like all the others, this line was not in service or disconnected.
Stated that my car warranty was to expire (it's long expired) and to press 1 to do something about it, etc. I went to a male voiced operator who immediately asked for the make and year of my car or truck. My response was, "shouldn't you know that?" He immediately hung up.
I have received numerous calls from this number and also 305-722-3106
. The caller is always female and speaks only Spanish. They claim there is no one there who can speak English. I have asked them to stop calling me since I do not speak Spanish, but they keep calling anyway.
Keep getting calls from this place, they hang up on you if you talk to a real live person
and tell them to stop calling
sunshinedec99 Aug 20th, 2008
I received a call from above number, they did not leave a message.
Sales call came in with a pre-recorded message with "push 1" for more info., which I did. Finally got a live person. When I asked what company this is, he said "Trans America Warranty" and his name was "James". As soon as I questioned about getting the call, saying I am on the do-not-call list, he hung up. When I dialed the number back I got a recording that the number is disconnected.
Have been called quite a few times by this company. We're on the Do-Not-Call list. Do not want these calls!
Citrus Heights Aug 16th, 2008
Called my home phone once at 3PM. Left no message.
No message left called at 4 pm today 8/15/08
This appears to be a car warranty re-seller cold-calling on auto license data they've secured from State licensing bureaus. They ignore your "do not call list" and call anyway. If you get a call, I suggest reporting it to the proper US Department. When the department gets enough complaints, they might pursue the company.
I have been getting calls from this "company" for weeks and weeks.Yesterday I picked up and some auto warranty person started to blab about how they received information that my auto warranty had recently expired and if I knew how much it would cost for major repairs such as engine, transmission blah blah blah.I said to the lady,"Really, when did it expire?" she kept talking about their auto warranty club.I asked her again and she said it would only be $29.95 a month for the auto warranty.I finally told her that I do not own a car and to remove me from the calling list.I'm sure they will flood my phone with calls today again.
Here is a tip: find out their name and state, and you can look up their registration information. For example, this link will take you to a business search for Georgia:
Finally, if you want to learn the identity of one of the biggest scammers for both the credit card scam and the auto warranty scam, perform an internet search for both "Versadebt" and "VP Marketing." You can also search for these in the above link as they are both located in Georgia in the Altanta area.
Good luck everyone.
This is in response to Chucky.
We appreciate your efforts in tracking down the scum that makes these telemarketing calls.
Keep in mind that these companies are crooks. As such, they spook numbers in their outbound caller ID. The number that you think is calling you is not. The owner of that number is a victim, just as you are. Ever wonder why the number is disconnected when you call? Simple. When their number is spoofed on thousands of outbound calls, they are bound to get angry complaints -- and many of them.
Do you really think a 73 year old many in Florida is making tens of thousands of outbound calls?
When you get these calls, you must try to get the name of the company, by whatever means necessary. Pretend to be interested, but DO NOT GIVE ANY CORRECT INFORMATION. Give them the name and phone number of the person you hate more than anyone.
There are only about 10-20 companies in the country responsible for the majority of the robo-calls. After getting the names of these companies, you can post the related info.

My first time getting this number, I don't answer if I don't know the number, I let the machine pick it up. Why waste my time since I know it is someone selling something, most likely.
hells bells...my number is listed on the National Do Not Call list. Also beware of repeated calls from an 062 area code with a recording "this is the last time you will be offered a reduction on your credit card interest."
mad as hell Aug 12th, 2008
Guess Jim Vandiver will have to refund the $7.50 that National Auto Warranty Services paid him for his post. Good luck on your next career. Or perhaps Jim Vandiver is really Darain Atkinson, the President of National Auto Warranty Services, or Cory Atkinson, the listed Vice President. In that case, good luck in prison.
Here is how to contact these crooks:
Here are the owners' addresses as listed in their Missouri corporation filing, all public information:
Darain Atkinson (President)
1009 Hawks Landing Drive
Lake St. Louis, MO 63367
Cory Atkinson (Vice President)
20 Signal Hill
St. Charles, MO 63301
You can lookup this company's listing at the Missouri Secretary of State website. Be sure to click on the "Filed Documents" link at the top of the page. If you look under the Annual Report dated 4/3/2008, (and previous filings) you will see the home address of both the President and Vice President of this company. This is public information:
In addition, this Jim Vandiver, or whoever this person really is, has listed more than one location under his profile for different posts. For example, under this post, he is from Council Bluffs Iowa:
And in the following, he lists himself from Troy, NY.
This comment is in response to the one from Jim Vandiver.
You are a liar and a shill for National Auto Warranty Services located in Wentzville, MO. We have seen your numerous posts all over the internet and we are on to your lies on behalf of the scumbags at National Auto Warranty Services.
(Note: to everyone: the following refer only to the company National Auto Warranty Services located in Wentzville, Missouri. There are many other companies with a similar name that may be legitimate. Also, there is a company known as "Dealer Services." This is the company that sends warranty expiration letters to your house with a logo that is a copy of the one used by General Motors. Guess what? It is the same company!)
This company is one of the biggest auto warranty scammers and crooks in the country. There is no way they are legitimate in any sense of the word.
Want proof? View this link, a press release from the Attorney General of Missouri:
They are currently being sued by Missouri for fraud and numerous violations of the state's "No Call Law."
In addition, they are part of a national crackdown on telemarketing fraud from the Federal Trade Commission. This press release clearly shows they were involved in both the state and a federal action:
this number has been calling both my home lines for about a month and not once has a person or recording come on the line. All the calls have been hang up calls. I am on the DNC list and I HATE these calls because I also get calls from bill collectors for my husband's ex-wife who moved out 10 years ago and had the phone disconnected when she left so neither number here was an active number while she was here and I answer those so I can tell them off since I am so sick of getting them after 9 years of living here. I never know when they hang up if it was supposed to be a call for her or one like this so I am glad I found this web page so I can VENT...lol I know it's a waste of time to try to get them to stop because I also have pressed 3 to take my nyumber of the list of many of these type calls and it doesn't work. It's like SPAM emails - when you click to unsubscribe, you are only verifying it's an active email address and I bet it works the same way when you press a certain number to supposedly get taken off their list.
It's a recording that says my car warranty is about to expire.
These dolt's call me about twice a week and top of these morons, I have around three others that show up unknown and just hang up on me. I sometimes just pick up the phone and hang it up in nano second before they can even get a chance to speak or hang up on me lol
I am soooooooo tired of this crap lol
Take care everyone.
Number shown on caller id. No message was left.
Pushing auto repair insurance.
Your auto warranty has expired.......A soon as I hear the recording message I lay the phone down on the table and walk away. When I hear a dial tone again I hang up the phone. I live in Oregon so I let them pay for as many long distance minutes as possible.
Alot of people are confusing Dealer Services or National Auto Warranty Services with other companies. They do NOT dial outbound to their customers. The best way to figure out who is calling you is to do something like this:
1. Answer the call nicely and sound interested
2. Play along with the rep, the first person you speak to is probably just screening calls so you may have to agree to speak with specialist or a sales person.
3. Go through the sales pitch and tell them you need to call them back with your credit card
4. Get their callback number and post it here. I'll check back every so often. I can look to see who the phone number belongs to and also verify it with the utility company.

I am on the DNC list and have been getting a lot of calls from this company. They state in thier message that my car warranty is about to expire. I tried to find out why they keep calling me. I explained that I do not own a vehicle that has an expiring warranty. The woman just disconnected my without any explanation. I tried to call back with the number that appears on my caller ID but the number is reported as disconnected.
Car warranty, angry message that I had missed three payments.
I don' own a car. Also on DNC list.
started with a recorded message (which itself is illegal in North Carolina); when I got to a person, she hung up on me as soon as asked the name of the company.

Computer dialer stating our auto warranty is about to expire, and they have sent us repeated messages through the mail. Only problem is we have no vehicle under warranty and absolutely nothing has come in the mail. I went ahead and checked the status of our number on the Do Not Call list and it's still there, so these folks are clearly in violation.
nobody there when answered. i am on do not call list, so i will report them asap
The caller ID said Cocoa,FL. I called the number back and a recording said it was disconnected.
Dead message - no one on the line !!! im on dnc list why do they all ? if they call again i will start keeping records and report them to ftc and fcc.

We have been on the do not call list since we moved here 4 years ago so I reported it via the do not call website.
First, this is NOT a scam. It is however a ripoff. The company *represented* is Royal Administration, a sub of Hanover Insurance. Web site http://www.royaladmin.com I talked to this company and they do NOT sell warranties, they provide them for companies to sell, ie a used car dealer or this dirtbag in Florida calling against the DNC. The person I spoke to was interested and a little miffed that someone was representing them and making cold calls against the DNC. So the company and auto warranty are legitimate, it's the seller who is operating outside the law. Possibly more on this later.
Second, this is a rip off as I was quoted $3005 for a warranty to extend to 2013/100K miles with a $100 deductible. I can get from my dealer the best bumper to bumper extension of the factory Nissan warranty they offer 8 years 100K miles and a $50 deductible for $1685. When I spoke to Royal she told me no one there had any way of telling me of $3K was high or not, ie is the seller making too much profit. Either way it's close to double the price of the factory equivalent. I will update if I get info on the actual seller.
The number rings as out of order and the call is against two do not call lists.
WindsorFox Jul 23rd, 2008
Found this number on my caller id today...no message....just identified on caller id as "Florida".
July 17, 2008
i'll go one better, i don't even own a car and they say my warranty expired. how about that?
Called and said they had sent several notices about my car warranty about to expire and I had not responded. "Press 1 to speak to a specialist and press 2 to disconnect." Pressed 1, asked to be removed from their calling list and they hung up immediately. Don't bother asking with these folks.
If you wish to file a complaint online, use this link for the Florida Division of Consumer Services:
...you will need to fill in your actual name, address and phone #, as well as details about the call.
I'm in Portland, OR. They left a pre-recorded message on my voice mail about being eligible to lower my interest rates. Said that this would be my final opportunity to lower my interest rates (but I'm betting they will call again). Seems this telemarketer has switched from hawking "auto warranties" to something about refinancing...
they have called me a dozen times, if you follow the instructions on how to get off their call list it does no good. I have tried it 3 times
got a call from this number today and just ignored.
I've been getting these calls, and im all the way in Alaska. I was gonna call it, but something told me to check the number online first. wtf they calling for?
They have been calling our company several times a week for months now. I have repeatedly told them to take us off their call list, and yet we keep receiving the calls. The first time I told them to take us off, I got another call from them 20 minutes later. I just filed a complaint with the FTC, so hopefully that will get some results.
As requested by the message, I pressed 1 and was forwarded to a live person. I confirmed the business name and then told the representative that their call was not welcome. I was immediately fed a recording about the National Do Not Call Registry. Circumstantially I call that a bluff, if they were concerned about not calling people who like peace, then I wouldn't have been bothered by them in the first place. Next time, I am going to have fun with the salesperson.
I confirm that the caller ID number is junk. I hope somebody has the sense not to give them a single dime. The probability of this company doing something honest is extremely low.
our number is only listed on our vacation rentals. Anyone else have a VRBO listing? At least we would know where they are getting the number. I just added to my "Do Not Answer" contact in my phone - works great. They all give up after a while if you don't answer.
Keith Briggs Feb 06th, 2008
I've been getting calls about an expiring car warranty several times a weeks, to my home phone and to my cell phone, for several weeks. Usually I just hang up, but I'm now getting fed up and decided to record the caller number. This time I pressed one of the selections to connect to a person and asked what company it was, and they just hung up. I would really like to stop this. I am already on the do not call registry.
I'm in Boston. This call rang and then hung up. I receive from 3-12 similar calls a day... I'm sad to say that it's to the point, here at our business that we just put up with it... Oh and politics and non profits are exempt from the do not call list. Also they are supposed to have "previous business with you" so if they call and hung up on you than, since there was a connection, there was previous business even though it was the previous business of harassing us! Oh Wee. I'm greatfull that I have enough time to share my experience and that I no longer become posessed at such an event! Good Luck!

Wow, how many of these scumbag scams are out there?
I have a brand new Kia and I have a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty.... There is no way it is expired. This number is also calling my work number. Some how we all signed up for something online and put in our numbers.
Been getting these calls and usually get nothing but dead air. This time, I got the warranty recorded message. The on-hold message said I was #20 in line. When I got a person, I told them to stop calling me and she continued her sales pitch. I told her she called my business cell phone (don't think my employer wants to pay for these types of calls) and I did not want any more calls from their service. She said she would remove me from their calling list. We'll see how that goes.....
These people are calling several times a week to my cell phone which is wasting my minutes. I drive a 1997 BMW, of course the warranty is expired! I called the National Do Not Call List to block my number maybe that will work.
I also called the number back. Recorded message says it was disconnected.
I also called number right back and it was disconnected.
e.w. taterhead Feb 05th, 2008
I called this number right back and it said it was disconnected.
They call themselves "National Auto Warranty Services" and if you question them further they push you to a recording telling you how to get on the Do Not Call list.
