As a 40 year subscriber to the RMN/DP I was appalled at the $225.00 subscription (annual-daily) renewal price. The paper itself calls for $400.00 + for the daily now. I'm sorry...for an ever shrinking product it's getting ridiculous. Called the DP today (12-04-13) and complained about the price. Got a 10 dollar reduction. Whoopee! Then the calls started from 303-954-3283. Have had 5 since that call just today. WTF do they want. Never answered and checked this site. Check this...get a 10 buck reduction, and am now inundated with BS calls. What a nation the USA has become...So sad...

Called me twice in the last two days and hung up when I answered. Caller unkown.
Denver post retention - they call me daily
The Denver Post

Yes, they call often, and when I did finally answer, hung up immediately!
They will call me sometimes 5 or 6 times a day. Many times 3 times in a row one call after another within a 5 minute period. So annoying. Now that I know who it is I'll pick up and tell them to stop calling and see if that works. I'm on the no call list so maybe I'll just file a complaint.
I just called it back- it IS the Denver Post checking on a recent newspaper subscription.
Call received but no one frm 303-954-3283 answered.
Believe it to be the Denver Post, They keep randomly delivering papers to my house, and that is about the time the calls started. although the address and out of state phone number have no links that I know of.
This number keeps calling 4-5 times per day. I recently stopped delivery of the Denver Post and believe this must be who it is.......ANNOYING

I am getting repeated hang up calls from this number. I know they are coming from The Denver Post. These calls (hang ups) are becoming a serious nuisance and extremely aggravating. I am calling the Denver Post customer service to try and get these calls stopped.

Rcd 5 calls from this ID Aug 28 - Sep 2, two messages were left and sounded like broken english/gibberish with distorted
If you are going to call, would you at least have someone on the line to talk after dialing the number! That is very irritating.
THANKS FOR THE INFO, SO ANNOYING
Denver Newspaper Agency. Someone came to my door the other day and sold me a subscription for Sunday Denver Post. Then today I had this call on my caller ID. Maybe just verifying that I got the paper as promised?
I have gotten one call a day for 2 days now. Thank you for this posting. I hope someone can stop these people.

I just got a call and my subscription started yesterday. I get wanting to make sure all is good, but come on people.
Always good information on this site. I have gotten a few phone calls from this number. I answer every time because its a local 303. I have yet to talk to anyone. Every single time it's just dead silence on the other end. "hello? hello?" click. Not a very good retention department if you ask me lol.
WHY ARE THEY CALLING ME. I ANSWERED AND NO ON WAS THERE

The fine print on the renewal notices sent out by Denber Newspaper Agency / The Denver Post reads as followes, "Delivery will continue unless you notify to cncel your subscribtion".
So even if you don't pay the invoice they sent you, they will consider a subscriber & could potentially seek collection against you as the renewal notices sent all said it's your responsibility to cancel.
The envelopes all say "Renew Today", so I just write "Refused - Return To Sender" on the envelopes, initial it & date it & put it back in the mail.
They still keep delivering the paper & they call me, but I've taken abundantly clear action indicating that I do not wish to continue my subscription & have refused their contact in written form.
So I let them call, I don't answer (recognize the #), & enjoy the free newspapers, going on 6-weeks now!
I wish to renew subscription for a further period of 12 months at the prevailing price.

Company: Denver Newspaper Agency
DNC: Exempt by prior business
Call Purpose: Telemarketing
Recommended Action: Answer calls, if no further calls are desired then make this clear to caller
This is the Denver Newspaper Agency (DNA) calling on behalf of The Denver Post (DP) and/or Rocky Mountain News (RMN). Persons will receive calls if you are currently subscribing to either of the newspapers (printed or electronic editions), or provided one of their marketing rep's with your contact info usually found on the weekends at grocery stores and Walmart stores giving away free promotional copies of their papers. Most notably, you will be called if haven't re-upped your subscription 2 weeks before it expires. Their marketing approach forbids them from leaving messages; hence you'll continue to be bugged until you answer their call. Finally, a word to the wise. These are telemarketers calling you, and they do not take 'no' for an answer lightly so be unafraid in being firm with them if they aren't receptive to you respectful or courteous declining their offer. Any of you who are familiar with the tactics that AOL employs have an inside track of what to expect. If all else fails, contact the attorney general's office and register a complaint with them. Collectively this is one the ways us consumer can put a stop to companies using abusive and abrasive tactics.

It's the Rocky Mtn News. They are calling about yor subscription. you cannot call them back at this number. You will need to call customer service @ 800-892-6397
. Why can't they just leave a message??? That would be so helpful!
I have received several calls in the last 24 hours, from this number on my cell phone, which is the only phone I now have.
4 calls in 4 days to my cellphone from these clowns. They never leave a message. I just signed up to get the newspaper for a year, and have only received one week so far so it's not a renewal issue. If it's something frivolous, I'm going to cancel my subscription immediately.
called, when I answered, no one there-irritating. Doenst make me want to renew.
Called the other night and said we were getting a complimentary subscription to the Boulder Daily Camera. Don't know why they would call again two days later (didn't pick up; didn't leave a message).
2 calls in less than 3 hours today. No messages. Subscription expires on 6/5 today 6/2. I bet they want me to renew.
our newspaper is up for renewal, This number called today
Thanks for the info. I do subscribe to RMN but my subscription doesn't expire until August so I don't know why they are calling.
Thank you Dan! They have been calling 2 - 3 times per day for over 2 weeks. Similar to other postings, our newspaper subscription has expired and we do not wish to renew. Recovering from surgery and find the constant interuptions annoying to say the least! Now I can call the newspaper and get on the "DO NOT CALL" list.
how annoying! All times of the day and don't leave a message.
I get a phone call a day and they never leave a message. I dont know who it is.
Never leaves a message, but my News subscription is about to expire, so I guess it could be them.
Annoying, 3 calls in 3 days, answered once and there was just dead silence on the other end.
Calls everyday without leaving a message. Our newspaper is past needing to be renewed, we already told them to cancel renewal. Wish they'd leave a message as I can't talk at the time they like to call.
I now beleive caller is the Denver Newspaper Agency: Denver Post/Rocky Mtn News as our subscription is up for renewal. Caller ID says DNA DP RMN MNG (Thanks to Dan's posting I realized what the caller Id meant).
Wish they'd just leave a msg, then I'd pick up the call. A lot of people monitor their calls nowadays.
It's a Denver Newspaper Agency. Something about "customer retention".
This number calls constantly, but never leaves a msg. Dont know who it is.
