Caller id shows "AssetAcceptance". Calls start as early as 8 am and continue throughout the day and even on Sundays, however there is never any message.

This call is very annoying. As you guys mentioned that they are collection agency. We are not owned anyone's asset. Watch out this spam call.

Has many phone #'s. Trying to collect debt that is 8-20 years old and is non collectible due to statute. It is supposed to be non reportable due to being over 7 years but they report it anyway.

I have been getting calls from 301-223-0034 & 0096 every day. I am deaf & have a TTY Relay phone. It is very annoying to receive these calls, I have even tried telling the caller that I cannot hear their voice, I can talk but not hear. After going online and receiving this information, I now believe it is Verizon. I do not want Verizon. I am very happy with Bright House.

Calls from this number twice a day for weeks looking for Lyndsey Pryser (sp) & I have no idea who that is or why they call me. Very annoying. Finally answered the phone today (I have caller ID) & told the caller who had a heavy accent not to call me any more. Hope that worked.

These people call all the time, even though we owe no debt to anyone. I would explain that they have the wrong number, but judging from their deceptive collection practices, I doubt it would make them stop calling.

Have called several times. Tell them they have wrong number. Since they keep calling I told them I'll be anyone you want me to be. I asked where he was calling from and he said the home office was in Michigan. I then asked him if "HE" was calling from India, since he had an Indian accent. He said, "YES." It's bad enough that there are low-life companies like this that exist, but they can't even put American workers to work. Maybe if so many jobs weren't sent overseas people here would have jobs and could pay their bills!!

Asset Acceptance Capital Corporation is a huge debt buyer, mostly of moldy, out-of-stat accounts. In January 2012 AACC was fined by the FTC for FCRA and FDCPA violations. Currently it ranks #2 among those debt collectors which have earned the highest FTC civil penalties. This case is a virtual catalog of the offenses committed by all the worst debt buyers and collectors, often while chasing claims which cannot be proven.

This case inspired a brand new FTC alert which was frankly overdue, given that consumer watchdogs have criticized the illegal antics of volume debt buyers for years.

Debt collectors are not telemarketers, therefore exempt from filtering out any numbers registered on a no-call list. The FTC never kept this a secret, and practically begged you to read the linked FAQ at registration time.
