Smith and Peed Off: It's YOUR job to ''step in''. ''The Government'' is not allowing AACC's behavior, YOU are. All kinds of rude and obnoxious conduct from a debt collector is *already illegal*, which you would realize if you'd stop making crabby irrelevant remarks and actually learn your options.
First thing to note, the DNC registry is the wrong tree to bark up. The following URL links to the FTC FAQ page which the DNC site nearly begged everyone to read before you registered your numbers. See items 28 through 32.
Q&A: The National Do Not Call Registry
Next up, you can cut AACC at the knees with simple letters which dispute their debt claims and/or limit how and when and where you are contacted. Put them on notice by USPS Certified with return card and they either obey your orders or pay you in a courtroom. Some of you like Lewis already have a nice legal violation to hurl back at them. Hint: Again, it's not about his DNC listing.

this number calls multi times a day. They havent missed a day in months. i do not answer. sometimes i pick up the ph and clock it off right away. They just keep calling. this last time they let phone ring 45 times. Why doesnt the government step in and make scam calls illegeal. I no it would be hard to control out of contry calls, U.S. called can be stopped. We are the ones that voted them into office, H e l l o, help us.
this number called me at 9:36pm on 7/6/12. I am on the dnc list. They claimed to be debt collectors. I hung up.
why our goverment allows people to scam and her-rass,the people who vote them in office, beats me. These people take citizens for billions of dollars a year, there has even been deaths due to heart attacks and strokes, brought on my fear and stress due to those claimimg to be debpt collectotrs. I'am on the dnc list, i never have less than 10 calls a day.if i didnt work, my ph would be disconnected
They call, and sometimes come to the line, sometimes not. Mostly I get a "hello" out of them before they hang up on me. Finally added them to my Call Control App on my phone so they can't call me anymore.
Got a call from this number today.

This company keeps calling, sometimes under AACC and sometimes under "unknown name" with this Florida phone number. They have called once or twice a day for the last six months or so. I've answered before and they've asked for someone I don't know. I've told them they have the wrong number and to stop calling but to no avail. Next time I'm going to ask for the company's address so I can send a cease and desist letter.
My mothers neighbor recieved a call from them looking for me, she said that the guy was extremly rude to her when she stated that she didn't know my phone number or how to contact me but she would pass a message along to my mother, the guy hung up on her.
These people try to collect on old debts. Check to see what the statute of limitations is on debt collection in your state- you probably don't owe anyone anything, but agreeing to pay them will reopen the statute!
Do your research before agreeing to anything, or even acknowledging that you have a debt!
Received a call, and they are trying to collect on debt from 14 years ago.
Recieved a call from them tonight. when I asked what they wanted they got rude. They also got disconnected.
Shows, Williamsport, Md.....trying to collect on old credit card debt that JC Penny charged off 10 years ago
