This number called me at 10:25am and it was a recording about my credit card eligibility, but didn't mention what card or any other information. When it told me to press 1 to talk to a representative, I did. A woman who spoke broken English and began to tell me about how I was eligible to receive something, but again never said what credit card. When I mentioned I only have 1 credit card and stated Capital One, she said, "Yes, Capital One Mastercard." I responded that my Capital One isn't a Mastercard. She told me that she was showing that I had $3000 plus due on my card and asked if that was true, I said, "No", she HUNG UP on me. I called back and it was a recording stating that the number wasn't correct. Be warned!

This is a REAL SCAM. A recorded message is play saying my Physician has Authorized my Insurance to pay for a Emergency Alert system and that it mentions AARP. The recording state to press 1 to receive my "free" alert and $3000.00 if Grocery store coupons...Further it state you must be over 65 to qualify. I pressed 1 to speak with them and asked to be removed from their caller list as I am tired of receiving theses calls daily. I pointed out this this is a fraud for sever reasons including 1. I am not 65 or older 2. My physician DID NOT contact them 3. I am NOT an AARP member 4. I have asked them several times to STOP CALLING me and they ignore my request. I was told the ONLY WAY to stop the calls was to accept delivery of the alert and than they can remove my name from their list. NOTE" this is the same SCAM from 1-562-224-2416

I verified this with social security. It is rare for their agents to make "courtesy calls" regarding your social security account, but the person who called me actually left a note on my account saying he did, in fact, call me. My local office knew nothing about it. But if you call social security's main 800 number, sit on hold for an hour waiting for a rep to answer and check with them they'll look to see if note of a phone call was left on your account. She explained that the 718-557-3000 number was a trunk number that cannot be called back for reasons of security. Glad I waited the 50 minutes for them to answer. Big weight off my mind.

Guy said his name was James Anderson or Henderson and that he was from the IRS. However he called me by my maiden name saying I owed over $3000 for tax fraud. He started getting mad at me when I told him I have paid all of my taxes then hung up on me. When I called back to talk to someone else that guy told me that they had try to notify me by certified mail, which I never received, and when I explained that he told me that a cop would be at my house with an arrest warrant. I quickly called the IRS and they checked mine and my husbands name to find out neither of us owe anything. I called the company back to get more information about it but they refused saying I would just be arrested and that's when I told them that I had spoken to the IRS and they were trying to scam me and I called the cops to give them their info.

This is a Craigslist scammer. Typical scam (text message to this effect): "Hi,Am glad it's available, I will instruct my assistant to prepare and mail your payment which I'm sure you will get in about 4 - 5 business days. I'll add $30 extra for the delay. I'll pay by money order, Pls let me know where to send your payment i wont want to loose it to someone else so send me your info (i.e full name, mailing address and NOTE:(I will also make arrangement for pick-up which will be after you must have received and cashed the payment). Awaiting your info. Thanks Alexander"
Of course the chance that Alexander is this persons real name is astronomical. I just pray someday I find that one of these scumbags is actually in the USA and I can see him, her, them, prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They will send you forged Money Orders, Cashiers Checks, Travelers Checks, or any other type of forged monetary instrument not giving a damn that you could possibly go to jail trying to cash it. If you happened to have a new account with a new bank that doesn't know you this is entirely possible. Even if you have a long standing account with your bank and for some reason they don't like you they can still force the issue. Law enforcement agencies have no interest in trying to find those responsible. I once had a job scammer send me $3000.00 in forged travelers checks for a job I hadn't even accepted yet. After finding out they were forged I took them to the local FBI office they weren't interested and didn't even want to take possession of the forged checks. Which by the way had been sent from a UPS depot in California. So knowing that someone had to walk into a UPS office and mail those checks they weren't interested in even attempting to investigate and make a possible arrest even though I was willing to keep these people on the hook for them. I think it's just shameful on both sides of that fence. Especially law enforcements part for not even trying. Pitiful.
I hope this helps someone else.

Like other callers have reported, they said they were the shipping department for the Senior Emergency Alert System. They said they were going to ship our system PLUS $3000.00 worth of grocery coupons. I said we are on the Do Not Call list and not to call us; then they said it was "already paid for." They are evidently trained to just keep talking and not let the person say they are not interested. I hung up.

Alert equipment - alert button & base station- 'free', just pay $34.95 / month, no contract, cancel anytime. Telemarketer spent time explaining equipment and system. Said he was licensed by Florida to collect CC info, lol. After getting my personal info & CC info - ALL FAKE including given name - he switched me to 'confirmation dept'. At that point line went dead. Suspect this is a CC info mining scam.

I continue to get calls from different numbers and they tell me that they are with an Alarm Security Company. I have told them at least 8 times to please remove my phone number from their list to no avail and told them we are in the Do Not Call List. I have presented complaints with the DNCL and nothing happens.

I called the number back out of curiosity and I got a recording telling me that I won a cruise to the Bahamas. Every time I would call the number it said the same thing and to press any key to be connected to pay my $59 port fees over the phone. I didn't press any key and it told me to call 1-800-712-3000 which connected me to Free411. I called it several times and saw that ADT, Charter Communications and DirecTV are the companies paying for the Free411 service.

I wish someone at the state or federal level would put a stop to this.

Got a call from 661-774-4307 yesterday with the same message about $3000 in grocery coupons and a free MEDICAL ALERT system. The caller ID on that call showed Senior Alert. It looks like these people(?) are trying to get people to make the mental leap that this is a legitimate call from the Medic Alert organization rather a scam. Wish people didn't buy into what these people(?) are selling. If there isn't any profit then the calls would stop. To bad these idiots are lowering themselves to scam senior citizens.

They are offering to give me $3000 in grocery certificates and a free medical alert bracelet. I tried playing the phone company line disconnected message but their robo message played anyway. Looks like they have their dialer set up to ignore external input and just play the message. Interesting is that they gave you an option of pressing 1 to talk to a live(?) scammer but no option to be removed from their phone list. Should have pressed 1 to see if I could get enough info to give to the FTC but I didn't really have time to play their silly games today. Maybe when they call again which I'm sure they will.

I have repeatedly told these people not to call me.This has been going on for over 2 months now. 9AM on Monday mornings etc.
I finally last week got a hold of a so called representative to tell him I had asked repeatedly take us off your list.
He became very rude raised his voice and got obstinate with me on the phone saying, " You have to listen to what I want to tell you before you can be removed from our list!
I told him that is illegal. You cannot force me to listen to you!
He started in with his spiel and then I interrupted him and he started again saying no you have to listen and I said NO YOU ARE ILLEGAL I DO NOT!
He then said with a snide remark and laughing.... "Oh no you are not getting taken off of our list and hung up." I called the phone company they tried to block it but to no avail.
They have now called us another 4 times from another number. .
I was not at home when they called.
It is a tape that say we have news for all senior citizens. You can receive $3000 in coupons and a free life alert bracelet that can save your life. Etc. etc..
Here are the phone numbers they are calling from.
253-236-2375.
I blocked this one now they are calling from ALERT 516-370-4161.
How do I stop these calls?

Caller sounds like from India . She said that I applied for a loan over the internet . Which I did not? She proceeded to say that the loan was for $3000.00 and that since she had my credit report and the history and score were not good (credit score just fine ) that I would be receiving a mandatory loan of $5000,00 this was not based on my credit history. I told her no that I did not want a loan and did not apply for one. She said that since it was mandatory that she had my banking info and she was going to put the money in my account today ( I never give my banking info over the phone or internet). She said I of course would be liable for the fees and monthly payments. she said that there was no way I could cancel this loan and that it would be processed accordingly. I told her I did not want any loan and did not apply for it and to be advised that any action made on her part would be deemed predatory lending.

Can you believe that now there trying to give you money . I was sure If I would have let her finish she would want to ask me to repeat my banking info and there you have it.

I received this recording offering $3000 in grocery coupons and a medical-alert bracelet or necklace. Press 1 to speak to representative. Was on hold a couple of minutes, then got connected to a phone. They wanted to sell my mom a life alert system for a limited time offer. I yelled at the guy and told him he should be ashamed of himself for trying to take advantage of the elderly. He stated that he was not and offered to take me off the phone list.

Wonder how many people they catch with the ALERT caller ID. Anyway the scam is directed at senior citizens which I am not. They said something about $3000 in free grocery coupons and something to do with a medical alert system or something like that. At first it sounds like this was the Medic Alert Organization calling but if you listen to their carefully worded message that isn't what they are saying. I didn't press 1 nor did I listen to their whole message. Did try playing the line disconnected tones but it looks like I was to late. Anyway, I guess it's FTC complaint time again.

How is it that I need "to be removed from this OPT-IN List"? Wouldn't doing nothing accomplish the same?

I then asked him again what card he was calling abount. He then states the magor bank names. I then asked him what one of my cards exactly was he calling for? He then hung up. This is a scam program. They have moved around the country preying on seniors with their $3000 in "free" grocery certificates and medical alert bracelet/necklace offers, get personal & bank info from folks and CHARGE $35/mo. for their free offer. Mysterious charges appear on peoples accounts when they opt out - opting out requires you to give them a massive amount of information! Our seniors are being badgered into giving this information so they can be removed from the call list. This group of scam artists needs to be shut down and prosecuted!

Another number of the Senior Alert scam in which a senior (many of whom are living month to month on low incomes) would be given $3000 in food certificates redeemable at 100s of national chains as well as being given a Senior Alert bracelet or wrist band. Wow! How could anyone hungry not go for this claim! Report this number to the FTC.

This number called me and claimed to be a loan agency with 3000$ approved for me. They asked I buy a GreenDot card for the forst payment and was to check if I bought it and then took the money with no loan provided. Fraudulent claim being a loan co. and stole the money from me.

The caller said I was entitled to $3000 worth of groceries under a federal program and also a medic alert bracelet. The telephone number (602-888-0367) is probably a spoofed number. I did a telephone number search and essentially many people reported calls from this number.

I received a call 9/26/13 at 9:12 AM EST on my cell phone from this number, Bloomfield, NJ, wanting to lower my credit card rate to 6%. He said that I had over $3500 in credit card debt. I told him I did not and he said combined I do. First of all, I have one $3000- 5 year same as cash debt... that is 0% interest over 5 years. Second, I have one $800- 6 months same as cash debt... again 0 % interest. Why in the world would I want to raise it to 6%? We were disconnected after asked him who he was and who he was affiliated with. I'm positve this is a scam.

Another call to senior citizens that states that Senior Citizens will be given $3000 in store food coupons and in addition an alert system to be hung around the neck for emergencies. And, of course, all of this is absolutely free! What the recorded call doesn't state is that there is a monthly cost that the senior must pay for the service. Again, it is the violation of the Do Not Call registry, and those receiving this call should report it to both the state fraud division and to the FTC.

504-533-8495 and similar numbers from 504-533-####: Warning bells go off for me. For over a year now, that area code and exchange have called trying to hawk services and products to senior citizens. Here's the latest: You will get $3000 in coupons for grocery assistance, and a free medical alert system. Press 1 to opt in, press 5 to opt out.

Anyone who has followed the call complaint sites knows that if you are told to press a number, HANG UP! If you push a number, you are put on the "chump list". That means you may get more attention from telemarketers than you expected.

Educate yourselves, your family (especially seniors), and everyone about these rackets. And report all such calls to the FCC, the FCC, and the National DNC Registry!
