Indian accent. Said he was from Microsoft. Said my computer was sending out viruses. Told me to do things to the computer to "fix" it. "There's a device inside your computer called Internet Protocol" he said. I asked him "If you can see my computer, what's my IP address?" He said, "192.168.1.122". I said "What's your job title?" He said, "Charlie." That was actually pretty funny, being as "a Charlie" is British slang for a fool.
They called and didn't leave a message.
Woman caller with heavy Indian accent asked to speak with my husband. I told her he is deceased. She asked if I am the computer user of this household. I told her, "No." She shouted, "Liar! Liar! Liar!" I hung up.
Man w/heavy East Indian accent claimed to be a rep of Microsoft; said my PC had serious problems & to turn on my PC so he could help me fix the problems.
When asked to provide information that would verify the authenticity of his claim to be a Microsoft rep, he hung up. (Before I could say, "DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN.") I have researched this number and this scam has been going on for a minimum of several months. These CYBER THUGS need to be stopped as I am sure there are some naive people who would give them access to their PCs & then either have their PCs messed up or their private information stolen.
Male, sounded like East Indian accent and said he was calling from Microsoft (just like the other reports below). I said I didn't have any dealings with Microsoft (or something like that) and "click" - he hung up. Obviously a scam.
told him would call FBI and he said go ahead, but your computer is going to crash--Asian foreign accent.
Called twice today but I wasn't able to answer. I tried to call back but the number is invalid!!??
Had to say hello like 3 times. He said he was calling on behalf of microsoft and told me my computer was reporting errors, I asked(are yousure?) They said (yes) so I answered( thats odd cause I dont even own a computer)so they quickley hung up. Idiots!
Told me my MacBook software warrantee expired , had me go to logmein and ran virus software, told me my computer would not run tomorrow unless I renewed my warrantee then requested a Debit card , didn't want a credit card. Said I would save $9 if debit. He clicked off my opening of my Apple info so I couldn't see my serial number, was inpatient and rude

This seems to be a scam. A male asian or Indian of decent who knows my name left short message on my answering device. Said hello and called my name and was trying to reach me. Did not leaave a name and I don't know him and do not recognize this number. This kind of stuff needs to be stopped. Congress should do something about this.
Male Indian accent. Knew my name. Claiming to be from Microsoft Tech Support and that they were receiving error messages from my Windows 7 or 8 computer that indicated a virus infection.
Male Indian accent: said from microsoft and I had a virus. I asked for the company's contact info and he hung up on me.
I received a call today at 9:17am from an Asian male claiming to be from Microsoft security telling me that they were getting numerous error messages from my computer and that it would crash and burn within an hour and I would never be able to use it again. I told him I didn't believe him and that I will contact Microsoft myself and I hung up on him.

I received a call on 04-09-2013 from (288) 918-6555. The voice was an Asian Male who claimed to be working for Microsoft/ Security. He wanted me to turn on my computer in order for him to fix "Viruses" that were going to crash my computer. He stated that he would show me the "Viruses" that were on my computer and he would be able to fix them. I asked him to confirm who was, and the company he was working for. He avoided the questions. Needless so say he was downed. Some type of Hacker Scammer.
Said he was from Microsoft and asked me to turn on my computer.
I just got a PHONE CALL FROM 288 – 918 – 6555. I searched the area code. it is from Illinois. When I answered the phone I had to say “hello” 2x’s. It sounded like the person was surprised I answered my phone. They addressed me by my last name. I was told they are from Microsoft windows. They did not give a name or id number to introduce themselves professionally. Their voice sound english but as if it was being disguised through a computer (maybe a device that translates) I was told my computer was getting a lot of error messages. I knew this was nonsense. My computer is brand spanking new with the latest virus protection. I also paid into a protection plan with Geek Squad. I was not going to fall into trap. I immediately told them if I have a problem with my computer I would take it to the store so they can fix it and hung up. I had my phone conversation on speaker phone. My son son heard the conversation and said it sounded like a scam. In the past I also got a phone call by an Indian telling me to go to team viewer com and found out it was a scam/hacker.Please I advise you to personally take your computer to a local store to get it fixed never trust a random phone call !!
I also received a call from these folks @ 288-918-6555. Hmmm one would think the caller ID would not show from a scammer, huh?
