Called this number - got a message "You have reached our number removal system...". If a so-called business answers with that sort of message, you know it has to be a scam, as they obviously don't want (a) identify themselves or (b) hear back from all the people they harass.

We get numerous calls that open with an automated, pre-recorded message of "You've won a vacation", so I looked through my logs and found another number, http://www.whocalled.us/lookup/410-774-8012 - when calling this number back, the woman's voice is identical in the "You have reached our number removal system..." message.

Recorded message said something about winning something. Asked to press buttons on the phone - I didn't press. All this is nuisance and harassment to me, and has symptoms of a scam.

I received this call from 269-768-2016 listed as Michigan at 5:17pm on January 21st, Mountain Time. This isn't the first time this showed up on my phone. I come home alot to find this number on my call display. The call came in today, as I was home, I answered it and a female recording said I had won a trip to Cancun, Mexico and Orlando, Florida for four people, all inclusive. It said to press 1 to find out more and claim the prize cheque which was included of $2,600.00 or press 3 to decline the offer. I hung up! This is the only website that would come up in reference to this number as I wanted to do a search to find out what type of scam and nuisance call this was.

AUTOMATED CALL WITH RECORDING ABOUT "YOUR LAPSING AUTO INSURANCE COVERAGE" AND IT WILL BE DROPPED (We can only hope and WISH it gets dropped from this call list) IN A MATTER OF TIME. YOU CAN "OPT" TO REMOVE YOUR NUMBER FROM THIS LIST, BUT IT HASN'T SEEMED TO HELP AT ALL AS THEY KEEP CALLING THE TOLL FREE NUMBER REPEATEDLY. (SEVERAL TIMES PER WEEK / DAY)
What I find that does help... is to push "0" and the call automatically disconnects / stops the recording or just hang up. I often put them on hold to listen to really horrible elevator music. :o)

I got this call while on another call. This was minutes after getting into it with AT&T over a charge I wasn't supposed to have. I don't know if there is a connection but the message when I c/b was "telephone number removal system". Received it 1-21-08 at about 3:15 central time.
