I keep getting numerous daily calls from this number. My caller ID says Kohls Dept. Store but I also have a "Potentially Fraud" message on my phone. I won't pick up but this is getting annoying!

No message left just hung up when answering machine came on. No reason for Kohl's to call me payments are on auto pay.

Yes. This is Kohls. I often forget to pay them during the mid-month bill sweep because I usually do not carry a balance on the Kohls card. Kohls is good about calling you (repeatedly) if you miss 1 months payment. It might be annoying, but it's better than them stacking on late charge after late charge and then sending you to collections while you remain forgetfully oblivious until it trashes your credit. Thanks, whocalled.us for letting me know not to continue ignoring these calls.

From all of the 6700+ COMPLAINT calls, survey says KOHLS DEPARTMENT
STORE. They call all day and their even kind enough to call after 8:00pm
when their not suppose to. Will report them to the STATE, FTC, DFI and BBB.

I've been repeatedly called from callers identifing themselves as representing collections Kohl's Dept. Store. From number 262-704-9780 and 262-703-1977. The first call that came in I requested that my number be removed from the call list as I was not the person they were seeking, nor was this a contact number for that person. The callers were sometimes compliant and sometimes down right rude. In any case, they still keep calling. The last time they called, Feb 7 2013 I ask that I be placed on the "No Call List". We'll see if that holds water. Voicemail mails they left ask me to contact Kohl's Dept Storte at this number "1-888-814-3555". When I called I told them I was not the person they were seeking and to remove me from the call list as well. They appeared to be complienat but still went on to try to request information from me. I asked if they understood what I just told them and they said yes, but still continued to seek information. We'll see if they call today because if they do I'm filing a harasment charge against the phone number, any individual associated with calling me, there supervisor/manager (oh yeah, didn't mention I ask to speak to their supervisor and each they hung up on me) and Kohl's Department Store.

Wanted to add that we have never had an account with Kohl's, and this seemed to be some type of sales call since it immediately rolled to the next number in the list, our second line, which would never be associated with any credit account anyway.

Received a call from 262-704-9780 number with Unknown name on CID. Immediately after, our second line got a call from 262-703-1977, which did have a CID that says Kohls Dept Stor.

This is precisely why the FDCPA should be amended into a larger umbrella to cover first party collections. Creditors in our current Great Recession are turning into maniacs even at 60 days delinquent. Some dumb department store office drone should not be prying into your assets and ledgers in any state. That's the sort of thing you discuss only in discovery when you've already been sued.

Apparently your state is more debtor friendly with regard to abusive collector conduct. Texas is especially so. You were smart to explore your options, whereas many others would roll over and take the beating like they want.

After looking on this site, we discovered it was Kohl's Dept Store...While we do have an account with them, The calls were getting WAY out of hand. One day, after speaking with a rep, we had 15 additional calls. We had previously verbally requested that all contact be made in writing, calls stopped for 10 days, then resumed. We filed a cease and assist with them to stop the calls and that didn't stop them. They insisted that they had every right to call us as many times as they needed and to ask personal questions such as what was going on in our lives for us not to pay the bill...We called the Federal Trade Commission and they referred us to the Attorney General for our state. They informed us that they can call only 1 time a day (per the amount of debt we had) and one time only. They are not allowed to ask personal questions. the AG's office sent us a complaint package to file and at the end of the year because of all the complaints they've had, will file a class action law suit for violating FCC's rules and regs. Just when you get this call from them, file with the Attorney General's office for your state. If in Texas it is 1-800-252-8011. Hope this helps someone.
