You want these people to stop calling get a whistle and blow it into the phone everytime they call. That'll stop them.

This is a scam!!! Do not fall for them being the Faternal Order of Police in WA. THIS IS A SCAM...if you want to donate to the actual FOP then google Faternal Order of Police and donate through the website! If people say it is legit, then they are the scammers posting it!!!
FOP is a real thing, but these phone calls are SCAMMERS!!! They call under many numbers and keep changing the numbers and the caller id numbers constantly.

Also - Bernadette's post is listed under other numbers that are being used for this scam. Best thing to do is to not answer as I think they hook onto your line also.

This is legit believe it or not! I called the Secretary of State's Charitable Organizations Registry and called the Policeman's Memorial Fund DIRECTLY. The phone numbers I gave them were all of the companies that they utilize to make the calls for solicitation for them on their behalf. What's even more interesting (you will not believe this!) when these companies call you, they are pre-recorded messages you are speaking with. They do not have the ability to speak with you directly. You ask a question and they push a button for a response. WSP Memorial Fund claims it's impossible for solicitors to speak with you personally, so therefore it's impossible for them to be personally aggressive, to curse, or to otherwise be specifically rude. Sounds totally fishy, but they are a registered and legit charity.

I call and get fax. Add 1 to the number and you get customer service,..I requested to be taken off.
Told them is sad in this country to not take care of unemployed, uninsured single father of two. I have needs and would sure love to hink that my family is catered to if I get killed in my work (regardless of what it is). Truth of the matter is, I heard that most of the money made goes to the overhead. It merely creates a few jobs.
They have union pensions and benefits. DON'T SUPPORT! The every day citizen would be living high and mighty with the benefits like they get. Also, they manage to almost triple their income renting themselves out. I know, a relative is an officer that brags about the extra money they make as rentacops.
We pay enough taxes. If we were to start supporting, my opiniopn would be that all officers have recorders that record their every move, word and action. Then they will be accountable. Truckers can't contest a ticket, they pay the fine. A cop breaks the law, he should do the MAX time, no question. When we have a system that isn't so corrupt (and I can't prove it without bringing up phone records twenty years old, but I witnessed a detective lying under oath to get the conviction they wanted).

The man asked for the lady of the house and once I said that was me he tried to be funny and said "don't worry (hehe) you're not in trouble". He went on saying he would only take 60 seconds of my time and went on with the rest of his "speech". He finally asked something like "don't you like knowing the police are out there to protect you?" He actually paused waiting for a response from me so I told him "excuse me, but I'm waiting for a very important call regarding my father who is in the ICU". He interrupted me and started going into the "understand you don't need to contribute at this time" speech and I had to interrupt him by saying "Sir? Sir? Do you understand my 79 year old father is in the ICU at the hospital and I'm waiting for a call about his status? Understand that any money I have will not be yours as it'll go to my family....Bye". That's where I hung up.

If this was legit, then I'd like to think that there would've been a little more compassion based on the info I shared. I only answered the phone because I'll keep getting calls if I don't or if I let the machine get it.

I answered this phone call and a man claimed to be a police officer or some kind, and start talking about neighborhood watch, and telling me about how i should feel safe because of it?! I had a feeling this is scam, i didn't have a time to listen whole thing but this is very fishy, our number is unlisted but he knew my husband's first name. He tried to intimidate nicely by telling he is authority, and I think he will ask for the donation at the end..... this is my guess.

Someone from this number called several people at Frontier Airpark in Lake Stevens Wa. asking them to check out the State records on one of our neighbors. He also sent out an anonymus letter about the same thing. This person is a coward and is making personal calls on company time.
You might want to check your phone records if you can.

This was a hangup call. Autodailers hang up after about two rings because they connect to the first person of about 20 dialed at once. Those who pick up the phone and don't connect are recorded as being home at the time of the call, so expect another call from the same organization about the same time of day within the next day or two. From the CID of this call it was obviously a charity solicitation and very possibly a scam.

When you get calls asking for charity donations you are entitled to ask the following questions -- It will be obvious by the way they answer (or don't answer) these questions whether or not they are reputable. :

1. What is your full name please? 2. What is the name of the charitable organization?. 3. Are you a representative of a commercial fundraiser? 4.If so, what is the name of the commercial fundraiser? 5. What is the principal place of business of the charitable organization? 6.(In Washington State) Can you give me the number of the Office of the Secretary of State Charities Program so I can validate your organization? (they are required by law to know and supply this number when asked - 1-800-332-4483). 7. Where would I mail a check if I decide to make a contribution?

Legitimate organizations will take the time to answer all your questions. You are entitled to take charge of such phone calls and ask whatever you think is appropriate. Don't let telephone solicitors control you! You can control them!!!
