While I stand behind my maxim "Doing nothing changes nothing", I'm not in a throat-jumping mood today and in fact sympathize with the frustration of scam callers who go out of their way to hide their origins. Jumping off at four rings is just at the border of what the FCC considers ''call abandonment'', which is preferably kept below a minor percentage of all predictive-dialed calls.

Meanwhile, there is a fellow who has been working hard over the past few months to disentangle the mess this cabal of security system hawking has become. The layers of fraud and lawbreaking are staggering, and none of this activity is going away by itself. It will take a steady flow of complaints and dedicated sleuthing to see that we are not having the same confused conversations a year hence.

Called my home phone 3X so far today; twice while I was at work. Won't every be answered, they only let it ring 4 times anyway. Ringing phone doesn't bother me in the least. "New Co" - yeah, same ol' same ol' - SCAMMERS. I just love wasting their time! I never answer calls I don't know. I am under NO obligation to answer my phone, especially for a*******. And before Resident jumps down my throat, kinda hard to send a "cease and desist" letter when all you get is dead air, robo-call, or someone that hangs up in your ear! Much easier not to answer; eventually they give up.

I recommend going to the source that provides the phone number to these Telemarketers. It is not their fault the number is being abused, but if enough of us call them, maybe they can talk to the users abusing these numbers.

I got a phone call from someone. He said "Hi,I'm Tom from Home Protection. How are you today? Hanging in there? We would like to give you free home security system in exchange for putting a sign in your yard. Are you the home owner?" I reported this phone number to the donotcall.gov and everyone else should as well.

You should ask John Bauer at eGumball, Inc, 949-597-1000 about the calls since he is providing the service for the robocalls to this jerk.
