I just got a call which I will add to my block list. I will now get no ring but will get a list of blocked calls on my phone.
I have the Panasonic cordless telephone Model kx-tg6842b (2 handsets)
You can block 250 numbers plus kill the one ring that existed on earlier models that only allowed 30 blocked numbers. If other phone models are connected you will still get the first ring on them.
The one handset model sells for $70 at Amazon.

Bastards called at 8:53pm. Caller ID was Senior Alert. They should know that seniors go to bed at 8pm.

Why do people think if the phone rings they must answer it? You have
CID, USE IT! Do you let anyone coming to your door into your home? Of
course not. Wake up people, these are crooks, DO NOT ANSWER when they
call you! They manipulate the CID system so the info is probably fake.
If for some insane reason you must answer it's too late! Soon as you
answer you've told them your number is valid. They sell this info to
other scammers. Pushing a # to 'remove yourself from their list' does
absolutely NOTHING for you. Do NOT call them back!
IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE! WAKE UP!
Stop these calls with Phone Tray Pro - Https://www.phonetray.com/
The phone block system the phone company charges you for does NOT
block all the calls Phone Tray Pro does. DIGITONE ($100)(Only blocks
80 #s), TELE ZAPPER, PRO CALL BLOCKER ($50), CALL BLOCKERs Amazon.com
sell etc don't do nearly what Phone Tray Pro does and cost a LOT more!
Don't waste your money on these worthless gadgets. As of 11/13/13 I have
229 #'s, 13 Wild Card #'s and 21 CID names on my PTP Black List that
will never get through again. The DNC doesn't affect scammers.
Don't be so naive. You can report them to the FTC but honestly when
was the last time the federal government ever did anything for you?
Oh I forgot, Obamacare. Speaking of scams!
Lastly, Alex Copeland is WRONG! It is the WORST advice I have seen
in years. Do NOT answer these calls. As soon as you do they know you
have a valid # and will sell the info to other scammers. You have CID,
USE IT!

Call about $3,000 in free groceries and a medical alert bracelet for seniors. I hung up before the recorded message finished.

..cut off. continue.

These "Senior Alert" callers call from a few different carriers.  Opting out only works for a short time until  they start calling from another number.  They use Peerless Networks as well.  The main role of these two carriers is cnam dip fee revenue sharing.  As long they're ringing phones, they're making money. With names like "DNCGroup",  more than likely they're using a do not call or opt out list.  I have seen "removes" used as the name as well.

You people are goofy with your "Do Not Call" whining.
Beware ! ! ! They Are Not Who They Claim To Be - This Is A Subversive Attempt To Verify Who You Are.
The Only Way To Stop These Kinds Of Calls Is To Make Them Pay. Always Answer - They Have To Pay For Completed Call Plus Their Wasted Time. Keep Them Talking As Long As Possible With Fake Info So They Have To Pay More.
