The FCC has temporarily halted 7 minor unprofitable boiler rooms who will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days. In the meantime the calls will continue since they are making money with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like http://www.telephonemanagement.net and http://www.CallerID4U.com
In their own words: 'Every day your company makes thousands of outbound phone calls. Every one of those calls generates revenue for many companies, why not yours? Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier. A high-traffic call center can lose hundreds to thousands of dollars a day to phone carriers by allowing them to charge for access to your own data.'

You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. They are making money even if you don't answer the phone. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them.

What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls
1. Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list and NEVER call them back
2. Consider blocking the number or on a cell phone add it to a contact list and assign NO ring tone
3. Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
4. Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
5. People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office
Register your phone numbers online at http://www.donotcall.gov or call 888-382-1222 (must call from # you want removed).

There is a blog site that has information on one of these operations: http://telemarketerspam.wordpress.com

Robocall to my cell phone from somebody who knows or thinks I'm a "senior", trying to sell me something. I have also gotten similar calls from "Senior Medical Advisors" about some kind of personal alarm. These are unsolicited in both cases. I am under the impression that it is illegal to make such calls to cell phones and that being on the "do not call" list should prevent our getting them on our land line. We have no caller-id on the land line, and I have no idea how to identify the caller in either case. There are a lot of people and businesses in Kent, Washington :)

grrr. I have a very rude message to telemarketers on my landline, and do not even have voicemail set up on my cell. I am NOT going to waste my $$$ and minutes on telemarketers & political callers. Bad enough when they call at ALL hours to my landline. "No Name, or "Important" is enough clue not to answer. Thanks to all who have a name for these perps.

Caller left message--re: Yaz and other birth control drugs. We are on the Federal Do Not Call List and do not answer unidentified calls. This number added to our "blocked" list. Believe we have blocked similar numbers (Area Code 253) previously. Will continue to block similar calls and WILL NEVER patronize entities that engage in this practice.

Eitan KImelman owns a company known as Dollar Phones. He also owns bogus companies called level 3 Communications, Qwest Communications, Century Link Communications, Broadwing Communications, Teleport Communications, Bell South Communications, Verizon New England, Inc and other scam companies. He and his sick brothers uses these companies to harass and even threaten people with arrest and jail if they don't pay up. No these jerks will be arrested soon.

No name given but they claimed to be able to assist with getting compensation if experienced blood clots or serious side effects if someone I knew used Yaz, Yazmine or Ocela birth control products.

It is amazing the range of scams these filth come up with! In reading the other comments, it becomes evident that the source of these calls is a lawyer. It would not surprise me to discover that this creep is connected with a certain attorney who unfortunately infests the residence next door to mine, and has been trying to drive me out of my house (and even attacked my late Mom with curses and blaring noise) over the last decade. He is also somehow managed to hijack my Yahoo! contact list and send Trojan Horse e-mails to my contacts, to hijack their contact lists in order to replicate this virus and send it out to more people through their contact lists! If you get an e-mail with "Hi" or "Hey" in the subject heading, do not open it; delete it. There is much more I could say, but simply put, this guy is a pain in the posterior and eventually will calm down. I hope.

called my prepaid cell phone twice but I ignored it. Yesterday I had three called in a row from another telemarketer scam bag. Seems like they are going after cell phone numbers now. Glad people report it on these sites so I have an idea that it is not a call I need to answer.
