scam
I figured it was a scam, so I told my husband (since that's who they contacted first). My husband called them back, and told a "Mike Johnson" that he knew this whole thing was a scam. This "Mike" then started cursing at my husband, telling him that "F*** you! I know where you live! I'm going to kill you and your family and f*** your wife!" Of course, now I'm worried because they do know where I live! Bottom line - don't tell them anything, in fact DON'T TALK TO THEM! Hang up, and report it.

Did a little more research. This is a Cell Phone from ALLTEL based out of HENDERSON NC which is a small town of 15K North and East of Raliegh Durham off I-85 and US 1. Who the hell do they think they are kidding. It is a CRIME in North Carolina to represent yourself as Law Enforcement. Reported them to the NC Attorney General. Hope they prosecute them to hell and back. Anyone else gets a call like this needs to make sure they report it, at least post it here for all to see.

Very heavily India accented female claimed she was working a "criminal" investigation for the BUREAU of CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION. I don't think North Carolina has such a bureau to begin with, but, she said it was on my social security number. Obviously some sort of collection bureau scam to get you to call them back. Don't believe a word of what this BCI crap is. I don't owe anything to anyone, and proud of it!
