Actually, the REAL person is not at fault here. The real owner of this number, Which is provided by Telus, has been receiving calls due to some scammers duplicating his number and faking calls from it.

I have talked to the real owner of the REAL number and it's really sad. He has been bombarded by calls from people like me, who have been getting calls from HIS number. He has tried to explaining that HE is not the one doing this, but he has fallen victim to these ASSHOLES who are seriously going over board!!!

THIS is a good example how these F'ing idiots are abusing real people and their real phone numbers. They do now have the ability to put any phone number they wish as their outgoig CALLER ID number... yes... EVEN YOURS!!!

Oh and just so you all know... our amazing Canadian Gov. is not only NOT trying to put an end to this BS! but is actually going to make it LEGAL for these same assholes to be able to LEGALLY push their BS to your CELL phones!!!!!!!! I WONDER IF IT'S BECAUSE OF THE EXTRA TAXES!!????

Seriously, I for one am F'ING sick of this BS!!!!

I now use CallClerk to block these F'ing F'heads!!!!

I spoke with this firm...
I am in Montreal and they called me on the 5th of October, 2012.
I selected the option #1 after listening to their pre-recorded message and was then transfered to an obviously confused telemarketer located in India.

The company goes by the name MAPEL .
BEWARE: THIS FIRM IS NOTHING BUT A SCAM!

They claim to lower credit card rates (yet they hope that you will disclose your credit card number and personal information).
I spoke with an Idian female agent who provided me with the name of a French Canadian Female. (yeah right).

I am going to once again alert the Canadian Do Not Call registry however I feel that the DNC list is once again unable to curb the behaviour and tactics global scam artists!

Hi young women of Montreal

There is a handsome technician in communication (the one who installs your new telephone line at home). He is ~6 foot tall. He is a rapist and a serial killer. His mother is French Canadian and his father is Greek. If you receive calls without any speaking, be careful, you are his next victim. The day, he will ring at your door, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR. Do not use your phone; you will not have the line because he might disconnect it. Use your cell.

P.S. Those calls have nothing to do with your credit or telemarketing. He stands in communications room, connects his phone and uses the line 250-453-2289 or others lines in Montreal, one in Toronto or one in Florida etc. No policeman can catch him.

Caller ID says Ashcroft BC. On many other sites this number is reported as a credit card scam.
