These guys have been calling for months, and their caller ID is always listed as Michigan. I have it written down as the Foundation for American Firefighters, but it could be Veterans -I don't remember exactly. These guys are very persistent and aggressive.

They go by so many names.

NORFOLK , VA 23541

Here's some guys I've spoke to before, they are legitimate debt collectors, however they are guilty of using the strong-arm tactics we've most likely all seen before.

The call with some personal information (as they have your credit report) and of course they want more.

My big problem with these guys is they won't take no for an answer. So here's the initial info:

Called this morning at 10:30. Asked if I was Mrs. Husbandslastname. Dead giveaway. I said, "Is this a telemarketing call?" Caller replied that it was a "courtesy call". Thanked her for her time, requested they remove my number from their calling list, wished her a good day, said good bye.

these people keep calling several times a week. If you try calling the number back, you get a strange connection that says "All circuits are busy".

Three calls from this number in two days. Asked for my wife. I told them we didn't want to talk to them. Second time I just hung up. Third time I told them not to call again. This is harassment! When I tried to call the number back, I got a message that the number was disconnected and there was no new number.

They call asking for donations for the "Foundation for American Veterans". I looked up the charity - it's one of those operations where very little of the money gets passed on to the actual charity. They call a LOT asking for my wife because she made the mistake of giving to them once. Best thing to do is say, "I'll go get her, hold on." Then set the phone down until they get tired and hang up.
