encore
these people called asking for my 80 year old mother and would not tell me who they were with and told me that they did not have to tell me who they were with. I have an unlisted number and I asked them to tell me what is encore and they refuse and everyone I talked to was very rude and told me that they were not able to disclose confidential information I told them that I was concerned that they were an advertising company and that I pay all of my mothers bills. It was very upsetting because they would not disclose who they were.I was ready to go postal on those bitches

This is a collection agency, on calling them back they are looking for someone with a different name, presumably who had my phone number previously. They said I had to mail them a letter to get them to stop calling, which I refused to do, since it is their responsibility to confirm that I am in fact the person they want, not mine to waste my time proving otherwise. I don't know if this falls under the Fair Debt Collection Act which requires them to stop calling if they receive a letter from the debtor, since I am not he. My next step, if they persist in calling, is to contact my state attorney general and the federal trade commission.
