Today this was the "Scott" version of card services scam. I pressed 1 and immediately got a person, who I immediately put on mute. She hung up pretty quickly.

Phone companies MUST KNOW they are aiding and abetting fraud because of the high call volume and the externally injected caller ID information. They can stop this by cutting services to these lines. Why don't they? They get paid, so they don't care. "Do not call" list is pointless because those committing fraud are already committing a crime, and what's one more crime to them? Make the phone company legally liable for these, and it will stop. Suggest THAT to your Congressional reps!

Yep. I got a call from them also. They use a wide range of different numbers but are all the same low life scammers. A few times in the past, when I had free time, I strung them along... providing false names, false credit card numbers, other false information. I would apologize that I got the number wrong and would give them a number slightly different than they last one, then the next time I would accuse them of writing the number down incorrectly and give them a slightly different number again. Then if they still had not figured out I was messing with them I would say... well lets try a different credit card... it had a higher credit limit than the other one anyway... then the game would start again... eventually they will say something like... why are you wasting my time... I would reply... you started it... remove my number or I will do the same again next time. They have cussed at me sometimes and other times laughed and/or just hung up. They are sub human belly crawlers only out to rip you off so dont feel ashamed by messing with them. Have fun with it.
