Called just before 7 PM today (Sun); so much for their promised calling hours. And my number's on the DNC list. Disconnect after one ring, probably thanks to my signing up for nomorobo.

There was an electronic message regarding a lost dog. Give me a break.

The sevice IS Real--not a scam (but remember, scamers CAN fake anyone's #, even yours)
It's not the only 21st century Digital 'Ace Ventura'

From the web site:

"No calls are made before 9 AM Monday through Friday or before 10 AM on weekends. No orders are broadcasted after 7 PM Monday through Friday or after 6 PM on weekends."

Their toll free number.

RE: Hectrige's comment below:

Back when Ike was President, the information operator could look up a phone # by address. When the phone company discontinued that, I had learned by Jr. High (JFK-LBJ) that the public library had city directories, paper & ink that had phone #'s in numberic order as well as listings in address order.

the 'dot' org web address in the message converts to 'dot' com/zipcode-search/
your zip code input will display the info for the missing dog you were called about + picture.

Petfinding scams are not Amber Alerts for dogs/cats, are not authorized, have no such thing as a "technology" to call your neighbors. That's a lie.

They're back in 2012.

Finding lost dogs is great but subjecting human beings to unwanted phone calls early Saturday morning is annoying and rude!

No message. The caller ID indicated FIND TOTO.

Three calls within an hour. We are on the DNC list and they still called. Another pest caller.

Sounds like a clever way of harvesting email addresses, names and phone numbers.

Ok, so the site exists. What part of DNC do they not understand? Why exemptions for political and fund raisers? I don't want anybody I don't know calling me.

More on point, though, how effective could a nationwide website be at finding a lost dog in your neighborhood? Give me a break. The sign on the street corner can't be beat at this time.

The voicemail said my neighbor Brigette lost her cat named Lara on April 21st. Lara is a brown spotted Tabby Savannah cat. They said to call 510-334-6041 if we had any info. Or visit www.FindToto.org.

I checked the site and sure enough, it's legit. People use that site to put out alerts and photos of their lost animals.

The automated dialer system puts out calls to available numbers in the same area code of the pet's owner.

The phone rang and rang. I finally got tired of listening to the ring, so I picked it up. I was going to tell them where to put Toto, but nobody was on the line.

Yeah, because here on the East coast I would SO have found a dog that was lost in Michigan.

They actually usa a automated phone calling system. The company is called Call-em-All.
They service business, except telemarketers, Religous Organizations, Non-Profits, and Politics.
They have their own Do Not Call List were you can enter your name & phone number.

Two calls inside of 5 minutes. Phone rang well over 10 times. I did not answer.

. . . Although I have no idea why a Los Angeles area code would say "Call Center - MI".

I guess this site might be legit; our caller ID said "Call Center - MI". We live in Arizona. I went to the site and figure it's not just coincidence that most of the lost pets in our area are small enough to become coyote food.

Like Missy below, I received an automated call about a lost dog. No information was given concerning its owner or last known whereabouts.

This number called at 3:00 p.m. on a weekday. My neighbor used FindToto.com to report his dogs lost and ask that we be on the lookout for them. This is the call bank for FindToto.com.
