Bri, did Weltman win the court order or merely threaten it? They should have dunned you on paper at some point, giving you a chance to dispute the debt account. You can see from prior comments and on other forums that Weltman is no stranger to lawbreaking, thus giving away defense platforms. If you merely ignored all communication, sorry to say you got the treatment you've asked for.

There is plenty the rest of you can do long before there is serious talk of litigation. If you are receiving misdirected or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, which regulates collector behavior and provides you simple tools for your own defense. It grants you control of how you are contacted, and collectors can be sued for their crimes. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov.

Bottom-feeder collections agency. One of the worst in the biz.

This is a law association working as debt collectors, especially for junk debt buyers. Based in Ohio. They're known for their questionable practices, especially early morning calls. Name given to me was "Jocelyn"...but number to return was 800-286-9403.
