It's called the Breast Cancer Financial Fund.
The call is a very realistic computer. It got stuck and asked for various first names bob, terry, etc, one after another. For at least 20 cycles. I thought it was a human until the is "bob" "brent" stuff happened.
Hey Amanda Thomas quit calling me about breasts how about a Big .... Dick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3:18pm Call Received, call Blocked
Also call your phone service provider and see of they can block this number.. file a complaint with them.
I got a call from them last week, and then again today. When "Amanda Thomas" called last week I wondered by the end of the call if it was automated because there was a come-back for anything I said. Then today, when "Amanda Thomas" called again, it didn't matter what I said - literally! - the same automated conversation continued from the other side. Grrrrr! What a waste of time.
Yes, we got a call today from 216-278-0028. Heavily scrambled could not understand a word.
This is a person's personal residence making these calls.
Caller asked for me by my first name, then realized she was trying to talk to my answer machine as it was talking. Caller hung up then.
Other web site with complaints out against this caller say it's wanting to collect for breast cancer.
Also get calls from 216-278-0028
for same reason I see on other complaint sites.
May have said her name was Amanda Thomas, mt wife answered and heard "Thomas" and figured the call was for me. The call hung up as I answered the phone.
Got an idea. Tell them you are recording call to complain to Better Business Bureau.
There was a long pause after I answered the phone, but since it was a 216 number (Cleveland) and I'm from that area, I waited to see if anyone was there. Then someone was talking, but it was that weird low scrambled type voice that you hear on tv and movies and stuff when the kidnapper calls for a ransom note, you know? I couldn't understand a word they were saying. I assume it was a recording that got corrupted or something. I hung up.
, "BCFA" calls and hangs up. 10-18-13, "BREAST CANCER FA" calls and hangs up. 11-4-13, "BC FIN ASSIST" calls, woman asks for "lady of the house" while machine is playing message, hangs up when machine tries to record message. These are scammers that have bought a "block" of numbers and are trying to collect money illegally, possibly to fund terrorist activities in the U.S.
I don't sleep well at night anymore at my age; and I've been retired for some years. I finally get to stay up late and sleep in in the mornings. This stupid woman calls me this morning at 8:15; and I was sound asleep (finally). I wake up usually within 3 hours after falling asleep to make a bothersome trip to the smallest room in the house then go right back to bed. I'm sure most everyone knows how a phone call that wakes you from a deep sleep rattles your whole body; I'm still quivvery inside, and very pissed off. I thought these people weren't allowed to call anyone before 9AM!
Machine picked up and I heard a lady ask "is the lady of the house there."
Why does the cancer soc. wait til the dandalion goes to seed before they do anything, you have to go to the root.
A too chipper woman called saying Hello! is ____ th
She stopped before she completed the word there because she realized she was listening to my answer machine talk. She then hung up the phone.
This caller is actually a "bot". It dialed my number 4 times and I ignored it when BCFA came on the ID. When I finally answered it, it asked for several different people in quick succession and the "spiel" started and stopped several times. When I called the number back the spiel was still going but still broken and still asking for different people. It is still dialing my number repeatedly.I cannot get a "human" on the phone to make it stop!

She asked for James and I asked who was calling , she came back with a very rude "For your INformation my name is AManda Thomas and I am with the Breast cancer Financial assistance" and I interrupted and told her that we do not take calls asking for monetary gifts and we have breast cancer in our family and we do not handle situations of helping to irradicate the disease by taking calls from unknown callers and I hung up
I work for the Better Business Bureau. Please call us on anyone that ask for money.
I just received a call from this number. Caller identified herself as Amanda and said she was calling for the Breast Cancer Financial Assistance Program. I told her I wanted my name and number removed from her list and she hung up on me.
Call went to Voice Mail. A woman asked "Is James there?" and then hung up.
Scam. They say they are collecting money for breast cancer patients. I have been through the "c" word. I asked how patients get in contact with them. The caller said "I'm having trouble hearing you. I'll have a manager call you." And then she hung up.
