I signed up for AARP Supplemental Medicare plan a few days ago. I received a call from this number three times this morning, so I researched it here - Thank You!!!! I called the number suggested by someone else: 1-800-523-5800 and they confirmed that the call was a courtesy call from a third party, and asked if I had any questions. I gave them feedback that an email would be a better way to contact people because no one with common sense answers unidentified callers anymore. She made a note in my file so that future communications will be via email.

I am supposed to be getting information from United Health Care, but it really irritates me that they didn't put their name on Caller ID, or even mention it in the message they left. How the heck am I supposed to know it isn't a spammer or crook?

Read sev’l comments that it was legitimate United Healthcare AARP #. I was just approved yesterday. But I don’t plan to answer such a disguised call that did not show a Caller ID. They’ve called twice so far.

Why would a company, any company use a standard phone line? It's not an 800 number. It's suspect.

This number is a recording from AARP/United Healthcare. Said application approved, and that I would receive welcome packet. Gave 800 number to provide to healthcare providers if care needed before materials arrived. Did NOT ask for any information.

Legitimate. This number is listed as the call number on my AARP insurance card.

This number is OK! I finally picked up after reading others said it was AARP/HealthInsurance. I did just apply for Medigap insurance and it had a couple of messages for me regarding my approval and a Customer Service number to call incase use was needed before receiving my Packet of Information in the mail. With all the scam calls and telemarketers, this call was refreshing and nice and just a friendly

It's a 3rd party on behalf of AARP, United Health. I didn't answer, but called the number back and was directed to call 800-523-5800, which was AARP/UH.

Legitimate AARP related. I didn't pick up but researched and saw reference to AARP. I enrolled with them for health insurance yesterday. I called the number back and they directed me to a 800# that was indeed AARP following up about my enrollment.

If you have a business relationship with a firm, then the federal and state DNC listings do not apply.

I agree with Carl. After a silence, a voice comes on and claims to be AARP checking on my health insurance and then wants my name, birth date and zip code. How on earth am I supposed to know it's really them?

AARP Healthcare calls to confirm receipt of insurance applications. In my case it was for Medicare Supplement and Medicare Part D plans. It is a recorded message telling you that they are processing your application. They do not leave a message, but when you answer they do confirm your identity.

I called this number back on the cell phone and it answered as Catalyst 360. The answer was a recording but they apparently are an insurance company. We are on both state and federa; no call lists and legitimate companys usually respect that.

When I called this number it answered as "Catalyst 360 Horsham [PA]office" a recruiting firm. I'm not clear as to why the caller ID says AARP. Spoofing ??

I answered the phone and there was dead silence. I waited to see if anyone would talk. Just silence and then click, they hung up.
