Guy called and said "Someone there called about a part for a ballast for lighting." I checked with the one and only person that would have called and they never called anyone. When I told that to the caller he promptly hung up. Either he was a scammer trying to get cold sales, or he dialed the wrong number. When I answered with our company name, though, that should be a hint as to whom he was calling. Given the notes below it was a scammer.
Agressive, harrasing telemarketers. When denied the chance to talk to our purchasing dept, the moron on the phone called out receptionist the 'C' word. Yes, that one. Phone lines are constantly buys, obviously scam artists. I did get through once or twice only to hear laughing from a clearly un-balanced, idiotic person.
"Yeah, I am calling back the guy in charge of buying maintenance supplies? What was his name?"
- I don't know. Was he interested in buying something?
"Yeah, what was his name again?"
- Well, it depends, what was he going to buy?
Most rude people hide their caller I.D. info before making cold calls, not this company.
