Did not give a name. Automated message to press 1 for lowering my credit card interest rate to as low as 1%. I pressed 1 and got transferred to a live person. He asked me if I was calling about lowering my interest rate. I replied, "Yes. What company are you with?". He briefly started to say something which I couldn't understand and hung-up on me.

A recorded message relating to credit cards, apparently for those with high credit debt, is activated when answering the phone. Message asks consumer to press 1. On doing so, a live female voice answers. When questioned about the purpose of the call, i.e., scam, her response was, "Go to hell." Call is received many times weekly. When asked to have consumer's phone number removed from data base of this apparent scam, the response is a hang up. Report this caller to the Solicitor General of the IRS and the US Attorney General's office in the region where you live.
