I had an HSBC rep tell me several weeks ago that if I did not agree to having our car payment set up through automatic deduction that they would keep calling until I agreed to allow them to set the account up on auto pay. They were on auto pay until they processed a payment a week early. These people know nothing about honesty and ethics.
When you try to speak with someone that has some type of decision making capabilities, they on many occassions refuse to transfer a call and once you do find a rep that will transfer a call the person that answers says that I called the wrong department. I think a large part of thier conduct is due to the fact that they have not been making any new loans for all most a year now and the only employees left are for account servicing. Needless to say they are not the most motivated individuals. Several weeks ago when I told one of the reps that all of my calls are recorded he became very defensive and ultimatley hung up.
I fully expect to have to file suit near the end of the loan to clear bogus fees and charges accompanied with associated interest.
