A female left a message stating she was calling about our conversation from last week. She advised she could lower my credit card interest rates and this would help since I am only making the minimum payments. I have not spoke to any one, I do not have any credit cards, and I do not have any credit card balances. The number they called was my cell phone number.

Nothing that you do will stop them from calling you. The major players behind this have made millions of dollars, which means that they are too big to fail.
One of the major players specializes in aiding the rich with tax evasion and shell corporations set up in Belize. You can bet that the well to do in this country are not getting lower your credit card interest rate calls and due to that fact our government just considers a few phone calls a minor annoyance.
The FCC has temporarily halted 5 of the minor non profitable boiler rooms. They will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days.
In the meantime the calls will continue since the major money is being made with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like http://www.telephonemanagement.net
In their own words: Every day your company makes thousands of outbound phone calls. Every one of those calls generates revenue for many companies, why not yours? Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier. A high-traffic call center can lose hundreds to thousands of dollars a day to phone carriers by allowing them to charge for access to your own data.

You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet. The only way to stop this is to contact the FBI and ask why this crime family is allowed to operate and facilitate the ongoing criminal operations. This is one of the reasons that the RICO act was put in place, so why aren't they using it. Is this because this isn't a high profile, news worthy operation or is the FBI too understaffed and busy with Homeland Security issues. Maybe if we were rich they would take this seriously, but then if we were rich we would be using that criminal organizations services and protecting them instead of trying to shut them down.
There is a blog site that has information on one of these operations: http://telemarketerspam.wordpress.com

Knock it off Kimelman or I will really make your life miserable. Get a real job and stop harassing lots of people. Stop harassing me. And while you are at it, teach your filthy wife and kids to use soap. Try getting a real job instead of all your scams ie. Fullfillment Center, Apostille, First Choice Family Solutions, etc. You had also better get off the welfare rolls or you will; land in the slammer. Yaron's cell phone number is 508-410-3831

This phone call came to my work phone number. Our office has caller ID. Since I did not recognize the number or the CDC name, I did not give my name, but answered simply with the name of my employer. A young, female voice (recorded or not?) started in with "Recently we sent you some information regarding your credit card account." I have not received, nor have I solicited, any such information, and I have never heard of CDC.

I just received THE SAME message as JA did....
"Hey guys, Asher Martin here hey, we spoke last week about possibly trying to lower your interest rates, reducing your monthly payment on your credit card so I wanted to let you know that I did find a solution. We've got a program that can lower both. Interest rates as low as 1.5% and possibly cut your monthly payment in half and if you are only making the minimum payments. This would be a great opportunity for you. This'll be my last courtesy call, so please give me a ring today. You can reach me here at 877-828-7254 again."

It's some kind of debt consultation/consolidation company. Reported them because I'm on the DNC and I have no debts to consolidate. Had to call five tones and speak to multiple people to find out what it was. The first few times I called, as soon as I asked what it was, the reps hung up, gave no names when they answered. Scam artists trying to get money.

I keep receiving calls from this number too.. I never answer it. But the funny thing is.. I don't have any open loans or credit cards. I'm 34 years old and own my home. Paid for in cash and have no open lines of credit anywhere. I wonder where or how they have my info if I'm not even a person to fit the criteria of who they're searching for. I wish they'd do their research better and leave me alone.

Call came in from 1-214-396-5554, and the cell phone showed the caller as "unknown." Female voice said something like, "Hi, this is ____ [I forget the name she used] and I'm calling in regard to some material we sent you regarding your credit card account." At that point I just hung up.

Going unlisted or unpublished is like hiding behind a bush from a killer with a tommy gun. Maybe his eyes can't find you, but his bullets can. Phone scammers like these credit reprice goons simply park an autodialer in the office and let it blast millions of numbers daily.

Here's a link to a site which helps explain the scope of the problem and why the credit reprice scammers are hard to control:

Call came in from 1-214-396-5554. Answered to a female voice stating "Hi, this is Amanda and I'm calling in response to a letter we sent you last week in the mail regarding your credit card rates." Yeah, right. No letter and I didn't stay on the line. Wish press 2 to remove would actually work. We even have a new unlisted number and they have still found us.

Received the call from 214-396-5554. Left a voicemail stating this was the last courtesy call re our conversation from last week. She mentioned something about lowering my APR rate down to 1.5% on one of my credit cards. She said to call back at 1 877-828-7254. I called and talked to a lady named "sonja" and she was stumbling all over her words and wasn't very professional. I told her I never talked to her or anyone last week and then she said it must have been someone else I talked to, then she cut me off when I was going to repeat the fact I never spoke with anyone. She wanted to know my credit limit and what the carrier was etc, etc. I asked where she got my number and she stated major credit card companies send them information to help ppl lower their percentage rates if it's above 10%. She wanted me to call back tomorrow with accurate information as to how much I still owe and what the APR is since she was just leaving for the day. I asked if the 877 number was a good one to call back, she said yes, but then told me her extension was 1013. I called my credit card company and they said it was a scam. Of course I'm not calling them back but if she calls me I may not be so nice. BBB's website says it's a scam too.
