Just received this text message saying it was Capital One Bank. I have never banked with Capital One.

I also received the same text message and do not have any accounts with Capital One. I called the # from a land line and there was a distorted recording, but I was able to decipher that they were claiming to be Capital One Security and it asked to enter your 16 digit account #. This has to be a scam. My guess is they just send out this mass text message and hope to find gullible people who actually do bank with Capital One and have them give up their credit card #. Don't fall for this. I would think a big bank like that would have much more secure methods of notifying their customers and even if they did send a text you should always use the phone # on your card if you are trying to contact them.

I got a cell phone text msg from this number, saying it was Capital One Bank, and that my ATM card had been suspended. I don't bank with Capital One Bank. My son got the same text msg on the same day.
