California PAL is just awful when it comes to giving the money they get over the phone to "The Kids". You can check them out at www.charitynavigator.com and see their ZERO Star rating yourself. In addition to this they waste money sending their buddies on expense paid trips and throwing awards dinners for themselves.
Attorney General Brown recently sued a whole bunch of these guys who collect money for Cops, Firefighters, Vets, and any of the aforementioned helping "the kids" because little of the money gets to beneficial programs.
Find a decent charity with a good rating and help society by donating to somebody who gets at least a 3 star rating.
Phone does say "CALPAL" when they call. When my wife said I wasn't here, they refused to leave a message.

They call me constantly, but no one's ever there when I pick up.
This call seems to be from a phoney solicitation organization making money from people without giving much or any of the funds received to 'help the children' who have been arrested with police athletic activities.
I would like the State of California Attorney General, currently Jerry Brown, to pursue stopping what appears to be extremely shady and likely illegal activity.
they didn't say anything when i picked up.
CALIFORNIA POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE. Policeman's ball anyone?
