Caller claimed to be from a rival firm needing confidential information from us in order to transfer a client account. When I told him I didn't understand what he was asking for (which I actually didn't) and that I was the only person in the office (true), he got very upset and insisted that I absolutely had to give him the requested information or transfer the call to someone who could. When I repeated that this wasn't possible and the best way for him to get the information was to leave a message so the right person could call him back ASAP, he announced he "didn't like my attitude" and hung up.

So either his request wasn't as urgent as he claimed or this was a scammer attempting to get information that would allow them to hijack certain types of accounts.
