I doubt this is a scam. I think its a service that theater companies from around the country utilize to save costs. They pay this service to make solicitation calls to past customers of their theater, or any cultural production in your community. It's cheaper than hiring and training people to make the calls at their location. They just make it sound like they work for your local theater. Just like the people who call for the FOP try to make it sound like they are your local police officer taking a few minutes to call you.

They called me today. And said they are from Shakespeare Theater Chicago. They wanted me to purchase tickets for three plays for $120. They also asked if that was affordable. When I said "No" they said ok and good bye.

The weird thing about it was that they knew my name, address and the fact I was at Shakespeare Theater to see "Private Lives"........ very fishy...........

bottom line is this! do not give out any personal info like socials or credit card numbers to anyone over the phone! anyone can spoof your phone ( change the caller id) and make you think they are calling from the white house if they wanted! go to spoof.com for more info on spoofing and NO im not promoting spoof.com !!!

they called from 212--279-5150 claiming to rep the field museum in chgo and asked for a donation to keep the museum going! shit i paid $125 for a membership and they charge outrageous prices already --i dont think our beloved mayors helping them! i think my money (125.00) is help enough! and why would they (the museum) give out our number? why would we give our cc or donate to anyone who just calls out of the blue? after talkn to the very aggressive telemarketer i asked for a contact number and he gave me 1-877-695-9629 i didnt call back!!!
