Dont know if it is true.But i've heard of a scam.Where all you have to do is press 9 and somehow they can make long distance calls on your number.

I received this call and with an XXXXXXX being mentioned of who was calling but the caller ID recorded 2122118023 which I looked it up is a land line. I have been on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY for sometime now and wondering how well does it really work. I still continue to get calls telling me this is the last call regarding lowering my interest rate and they will not call again. Then why do they continue to still call and there is no option to be removed from their calling list. When is all this going to stop. One thing is I'm glad I have caller ID.

This is the first call I've received from this number. The zip code above is my own. When I check with white pages it says a landline but number is not a valid number. All I can get is it's a New York NY number, landline, and I don't know anyone in NY nor have I ever been there. I have no credit so they better check their records if thats what they're after. My identity was stolen and has been used repeatedly for the last 12 years! I can't get any credit so why can someone else using my info? If they are trying to collect on an old debt - good luck! I've reported every year my lack of identity and its all over my credit report. Last credit I got was in 1999 and I paid that off! - all I can say is good luck trying but you won't get an answer!

I received a call at 12:03 PM I pressed 9 to ask to be removed from the calling list and he said "go fuck yourself bitch." UNACCEPTABLE

First it was a pre-recorded message about lowering the interest rate on my credit cards- instructed me to dial "9" for an operator. I did, and a man with a Middle Eastern accent answered. I told him to remove me from his call list and he hung up on me...

At first, recorded message regarding credit card. Asked for customer representative, and auto response to press 9. Then got a person and informed that I am on the do not call list. Representative hung up.
