This is apparently one of the many 'Buffalo Bullies' engaged in fraudulent ''hot check'' collection, exposing itself to serious FDCPA violation counts.

Keep getting computer calls from this number. The message states they have left several msgs for 'David Thomas' about a claim and to immediately return their call to a different number, 888-878-5206.

Mistrust of any ''wrong number'' claim is standard procedure at all the rogue collection agencies. Send a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with return card. This is the method promoted by the FTC and many consumer watchdogs, and the only way to set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at their risk of a lawsuit from you.

Idiot bill collectors calling for someone who apparently had the number before me, which I've had for at least 5 years. The dept keeps getting passed on to another collection agency and they always start with the same information. We get a rash of calls every few months or so. We tell them they have the wrong number and that usually takes care of it for a while, at least until another agency takes it up. Have had some be very rude. One told my wife, after she told them they had the wrong number, "yeah, ok, thanks LaRonda", which is the name of the one they are looking for.
