Received a call yesterday from Tanya. I was at work at the time my friend answered the phone. She asked for my cell phone number and said I had given it to her a while back but she misplaced it. Friend told her I don't have a cell phone. She gave a number she could be reached at, 209-858-3660
I had never spoken to this person before. I called her at the number she gave after first dialing *67. She denied having used any unethical practices to get in touch with me. I told her I didn't appreciate being lead to believe that the call came from a friend and not a collection agency. She said that I had had every opportunity to repay my debt. I said I wanted to pay it but because I only make enough to pay my rent, car payment, and food for the week I can't come up with the money to pay her right now. She then asked if me paying the government back was not a priority. I then told her that I have my priorities straight and that I will pay the debt when I am financially able to. Then she said that the call was in order to collect a debt...yadda yadda...blah blah blah.
Why can't people be straight forth and honest about what a call is about and not try and deceive a person. DCS should be shut down for the unethical practices.
